All War Within Hero Talents and Specs Revealed So Far

Recommended Posts

We got some details on the Hero Talents and their trees during today's Deep Dive panel, so we're taking a look at all of them. First off, each class will have 3 separate Hero Specs to choose from, and each of them will have 10 talents.

The Druid was the focus of the panel, since they're complicated so they always start with them with new systems. We got details on the Keeper of the Grove and Elune's Chosen Hero Specs.

Here are five Keeper of the Grove talents:

And here's five for Elune's Chosen:

And finally, we have the preliminary, very much work in progress list of all the planned Hero Specs for each class in The War Within. Blizzard are hoping to get a lot of feedback on these and adjust them accordingly.

Not gonna lie, was really hoping the Keeper of the Grove talents would allow for a permanent treant pet/minion. Oh well.

I would have preferred if these were purely cosmetic. Otherwise it's basically another talent tree split from the main one and people will have to choose whether to deal more damage/healing or pick an appearance and flavor which they prefer.

I agree, but I also think they have to solve the issue that they now have a balanced and nice talent system, but with an expansion they add levels and our characters need to develop. Growing the current talent system will unbalance it entirely, I think this hero spec is a good way to go about solving that. Even with the drawback that many people will want to min-max and thus won’t perceive a choice.

Remember though, min-maxing is a choice. Putting fantasy and feel first is a different choice, and they’re never compatible. But even a min-maxer can spec into stuff they want just for fun, outside of their competitive content perhaps? There’s even the option of rolling on a RP server.

From my experience, almost no one bothers with RP on RP servers. Certainly no one is going to RP in dungeons and LFG. 😁 But that would be ridiculous. As for balance, I don't think it's balanced well, but it's certainly been worse sometimes. Personally, I don't bother with min-maxing and I will pick whatever is more interesting. However, they should do something about button bloat.

RP servers are never full of roleplaying, but they’re always the place to find roleplaying - including in dungeons 🙂

Due to bugs, Blizzard has decided to extend Children's Week by one more week to give players more time to finish the meta-achievement!
The event will end on May 13th, 2024 instead of May 6th.
      (Source)
We’re aware of and working on issues with the Children’s Week holiday. Specifically, we’re fixing bugs with the holiday’s quests as well as fixing an issue with the What A Long Strange Trip It’s Been achievement not properly granting the Master Riding skill.
Considering the time it’s taking to complete this work, we’ve decided to extend the holiday by a week to make sure everyone has plenty of time after the fixes.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding.
