The fine folks of Smokywood Pastures aren’t letting a little thing like a shattered sky and ominous portents get in the way of spreading holiday cheer—or gaining a bit of profit. Winter Veil has begun in Azeroth, and with it come all the fripperies, fineries, and delectable comestibles of the holiday.

When: December 16 – January 2
Where: Initial holiday quests can be found in Orgrimmar and Ironforge, but festive decorations can be found throughout the world.

New This Year

Dragonflight

'Tis the season for celebration! Strongholds are decked out in festive cheer, and gifts are stacked under the trees. The Feast of Winter Veil has arrived in Azeroth with fresh items added to expand growing Collections.

The Abominable Greench is upping the ante after his Metzen-nabbing shenanigans with new rewards. Storm his cave and save Metzen for a chance at merrymaking rewards:

The joyful season has inspired a variety of Bosses to share in lighthearted fun with hats, loot, and holiday decorations. However, don't be fooled. Just because they're in the spirit of things doesn't change their miserable motivations; you'll want to battle as hard as usual to ensure they don't sour the season.

  • Hackclaw's War-Band (Brackenhide Hollow)
  • Khajin the Unyielding (Halls of Infusion)
  • Assault of the Zaqali (Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible)
  • Tyr, the Infinite Keeper (Dawn of the Infinite)
  • Council of Dreams (Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope)

Gifts to Make Heroes Happy

Greatfather Winter is adding to the pile of presents this year with two wonderful Winter Veil gifts:

  • Junior Timekeeper's Racing Belt Junior Timekeeper's Racing Belt: From the 'I Can Be Lord Andestrasz' collection of racing accessories comes a new do-it-yourself course creation kit! Periodically release rings for party members to race through.
  • Winter Veil Socks Winter Veil Socks: Don your festive footwear to bring the Feast of Winter Veil with you wherever you go with a snowy trail effect! Machine wash cold and hang during a flurry to dry.

World of Warcraft® Classic: Season of Discovery

Jump into the Season of Discovery as Greatfather Winter spreads festive cheer and merriment throughout Azeroth during the Feast of Winter Veil and partake in the celebration with gifts, food, and more!

Take a magical sleigh ride with your friends over Orgrimmar or Ironforge! Don’t forget to take a S.E.L.F.I.E. to preserve the moment!

Stop by the Smokeywoods Pastures cart in Ironforge or Orgrimmar and click on Greatfeather Pepe to obtain A Tiny Winter Hat. When you summon Pepe to join you on your adventures, he may just show up in the perfect Winter Veil outfit complete with a tiny beard.

Festive Favorites

Let your spirit be light by stepping into one of the Giant Snow Globes found outside of the Ironforge Bank, in Orgrimmar overlooking the Valley of Wisdom, or in the Broken Isles in Dalaran. It’s a truly transformative experience letting your inner Greatfather Winter helper out. A little /dance will spread the joy to those around you.*

The Abominable Greench is (still) a mean one, but we’re sure that once you’ve filled up on the fine foods and beverages from Smokywood Pastures, you’re bound to put a stop to his reign of terror in the Hillsbrad Foothills. The quest You’re a Mean One… is now available to players level 30 and up.

There are plenty of holiday hats to be found on a variety of bosses from dungeons in the Broken Isles, Northrend, and more. You just need to decide which color hat you want. Will it be green or red?

Make sure to check in on December 25 to see what presents Greatfather Winter has left for you.

Feast of Winter Veil in WoW Classic

When: December 15 - January 2
Where: Initial holiday quests can be found in Orgrimmar and Ironforge, but festive decorations can be found throughout the world.

*Please /dance responsibly. Side effects include joy and laughter. Wait at least 30 minutes after eating Smokywood Pastures' fine festive foods to avoid unpleasant side effects.

Drop chances need bad-luck protection.

Did 20+ chars a day grind for Arfus (No drop), lost count on how many years + chars I have tried to get Loverocket on (Still not dropped, Tried since introduced - played nonstop since 2005), and Invincible took me 27chars 5 years to drop.
Yeah, some of us are THAT unlucky.
It makes it NOT fun to even attempt to get these things, and I certainly do not consider anyone "cool" for having them either when it's all just horrible horrible luck.

During one raid, we got to see the Fyr'alath bad luck protection buff work wonders, yielding 12 drops from a single Fyrakk kill.
Sacolas shared an interesting shot on Reddit, showing 12 Fyr'alaths dropping simultaneously! This might just be the record for the most Fyr'alath the Dreamrender drops we've seen from a single kill to date. Sadly, the original poster missed out on the quest item, and looted instead a Greater Ember of Fyr'alath. Here's hoping for better luck next week!

What's the highest number of Fyr'alaths you've seen drop from one kill? Let us know in the comments below!

The World Quest for Fathom Dweller is finally up on EU servers after almost a year. Check out how to summon Kosumoth the Hungering and get the mount before others do!
Here's what the mount looks like.

The quest won't pop up by itself. Instead, you must unlock it.
First, download a WoW Addon that shows you coordinates to figure out where you are and where you need to be. Something like MapCoords or TomTom will do. Head to Broken Shore 37/71 and talk to Drak'thul. Head to 57/52 and enter the Musty Cave. Click on the Mound of Dirt that is hard to notice. You will receive Weathered Relic. Return to 37/71 and talk to Drak'thul again and go through all his dialog options. Now comes the more difficult part. You must click on 10 Hungering Orbs in the exact order. If another player clicks on them, it takes approximately 20 minutes for them to become clickable again, so they have a cooldown. Here are coords for all the Hungering Orbs: Azsuna: 37/37: The first orb is located in a secret cave behind the tree. Stormheim: 33/75: The second orb is located in a cave where Kangaxx is. Val'sharah 41/80 Find another secret cave located inside a tree. The third orb is guarded by an Elemental.  Broken Shore 31/76: You will find an underwater cave that hides the fourth orb. Azsuna 59/12: Behind the crystals is yet another secret cave. The fifth orb is located on the ground next to a broken table. Stormheim 67/14: Near the underwater shark is a crevice that leads to a cave that contains the sixth orb. Try to avoid the steams, as they deal high damage. This orb may be the most difficult for you to get. Highmountain 52/36: Enter the Haglands and follow the path to your right. Above halfway down (55/36), you want to jump down to a ledge with a cave. Do not enter the first cave since it's a decoy. Instead, turn right and head to the actual cave to find the seventh orb. Azsuna 54/26: Under the bushes near a tree is another secret cave. The eighth orb is somewhat hidden, too, located in a bush near a pillar inside the cave. Broken Isles World Map 50/91: Find underwater wreckage to get through a secret cave. This one is hard to explain, so we advise you to check out MadSeasonShow's video (timestamp). You will find the ninth orb to your right. Broken Shore 37/71: Head back to Drak'thul and click the final orb on the table behind him. After you click it, the DANGER: Kosumoth the Hungering World Quest spawns at 46/49 on the Broken Isles World Map. Kill Kosumoth to receive Fathom Dweller. Note that you have a chance to get the Hungering Claw instead of the mount. It just so happens that the reward is the mount right now. Check out the video guide by MadSeasonShow for more details!

Blizzard have announced that they will be significantly changing the Oracle Priest Hero Talent tree, following player feedback and internal testing. It seems the tree's focus will no longer be on replacing Power Infusion.
      Oracle Hero Talents (Source)
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the Oracle Hero Talent tree.
One of our goals in sharing these Hero Talent trees so early in the process was to give us adequate time to evaluate and change things as necessary. After reading your feedback, discussing the talent tree, and playtesting the concept internally, we’ve decided to revisit the Oracle tree, especially regarding its focus on replacing Power Infusion.
      Thanks again!
