Patch 10.2.5 Follower Dungeons XP Buff

Recommended Posts

77027-follower-dungeons-official-preview

Blizzard have hotfixed follower dungeons to award much more experience!

Blizzard LogoFollower Dungeons (Source)

With a hotfix that went out to all realms at 2:35 p.m. PST (about 10 minutes ago), we’ve greatly increased the amount of XP you’ll get alongside followers.

Throughout the PTR, your XP was reduced by 20% per follower, so if you two friends had two followers with you, XP was reduced by 40%. If you went in solo with four followers, XP was reduced by 80%.

Now in the live game, each follower causes a 5% XP reduction. Your party of three players and two followers should see a total of 10% reduced XP, and solo players with four followers receive a 20% reduction.

How so?

The bot AI is not up to par to the seasonal or veteran players' standard.  Eg) Watching the Tank purposely run through the welp eggs in Ruby.  The Followers pulling everything and anything in Brakenhide.  When you press the option to lead it takes them forever to catch up to the player that is leading them.  If you are a strong dps and press follow and kill everything in your path like MDI pulls the bot Tank can't decide which direction to go to xD.

they need to get this working with timewalking asap, I might actually be able to level up my dps alts in a reasonable time.

To be fair, those people aren't the target audience for this system in the first place.

I don't understand what greatly increased means to them but a few hours ago I took a level 61 dps through the follower dungeon it was neltharus. Upon completion of the dungeon i had gained 2 out of the 10 bars truly sad. I was looking forward getting away from the toxic groups. At this rate it'll take 5 days to level from 61-70 ... sigh

Oh I am well aware of this however that is not going to stop the playerbase that wish not view it from that perspective.  I tried to explain this to Guildies that were running the follower dungeons while I was in Discord xD

Personally, I'd consider them doing some bad stuff a good thing. Walking through eggs and spawning whelps can be educational to someone learning dungeons to know "hey, I shouldn't run through whelps, good to know." That said, stuff like pulling tons of unnecessary trash mobs is kinda dumb.

The War Within pre-patch introduced several bugs. One notable issue affects the Tusks of Mannoroth, which reduces your Strength by 1.
Instead of increasing stats, equipping the Tusks of Mannoroth from Garrosh Hellscream actually results in a loss of stats. It appears that Blizzard's recent item adjustments have caused some unintended problems. Given the complexity of balancing content across ten expansions, such issues are not entirely surprising.

The latest War Within Beta build comes with hints that the Awakening the Machine event in the Ringing Deeps may have been scrapped.
Many lines referring to the Awakening the Machine event have been removed from the database files in the most recent War Within Beta build, suggesting Blizzard may have decided to scrap it entirely!

The outdoor event revolved around defeating waves of mobs while keeping an NPC alive. It was extremely buggy on the Beta with mobs not despawning upon reaching 0 health.
Here's a short overview of the event from our previous article:
Awakening the Machine Outdoor Event Overview
At the beginning of the event you must talk to Speaker Kuldas to get started.

When you click at the box at the beginning, you can choose from one out of three Awakening Powers for your run. These work just like Torghast Anima Powers, empowering your character in various ways.

When you start the event, your goal is to keep the Speaker alive while he conducts the Rites of Awakening.

Every 5 waves, there's a small break and you can select an additional Awakening Power to aid you in defending Kuldas. When his health reaches 0, you must start from the beginning.

The run ends when you defeat 20 cummulative waves of mobs. One of the new War Within weekly quests lets you select this activity and awards 1 Treasure Trove Key used in Bountiful Delves to open a Bountiful Treasure Trove.

You can buy additional Awakening Powers at various Renown ranks with the Assembly of the Deeps faction from R-K-MEDES in the Ringing Deeps.

For the exact location, check out the player arrow on the map below.

It's Not Much, But It's Honest Work requires players to defeat the Awakened Phalax in Awakening The Machine for the Machine Defense Unit 1-11 mount.

Blizzard has added a shiny new login screen in the latest War Within Beta build. Check it out!
The previous War Within login screen has been replaced with a new one. It shows Dornogal, the capital city of the new expansion.
It almost looks like a portal.

You can watch the animations and music in ZINK's latest video.

Blizzard have announced that cross-realm trading is temporarily disabled, as they work on a fix for an unspecified issue.
      Trading (Source)
We’ve identified an issue with cross-realm trading that requires us to temporarily disable the function.
We’re working on a fix, and until we’re finished with that work, cross-realm trading should fail when attempted.
We’ll let you know as soon as we’re done.
      Thank you!
