Last Epoch has just released its 1.0.3 patch, which fixes various bugs and introduces some adjustments to visuals, audio, gameplay, abilities, and more. Read on to find out what’s new and improved.

Eleventh Hour Games has released their official patch notes for Last Epoch 1.0.3! This latest update brings adjustments to skills and abilities, further UI/visual/audio refinements, campaign improvements, as well as more bug fixes that were making some skills or passives overpowered. Here are the most important details:

Overall Game Changes:

During Campaign-Playthrouh, the transition to Temporal Sanctum from the Ruined Coast was moved, so it is not as easy to accidentally transition after combat.

The following skills were adjusted:

  • Changed Cloud Gatherer to only apply to any individual Smoke Bomb one time.
  • Wandering Spirits now has 30% more spirit reveal frequency
  • Wandering Spirits now has a base of damage of 20 (from 16.2) and damage effectiveness of 200% (from 180% actual, 140% listed)

Other Changes:

  • A "Localization" type was added to the in-game bug reporting tool.
  • Improved trading between players so that you can no longer request a trade that requires a higher rank than the potential buyer possesses.
  • Some audio modifications, such as updated sound effects for the Falcon and Healing Hands, a new 2D ambient loop SFX for all scenes in Chapter 6, new music for The Barren Aqueduct and Nest of the Fallen, as well as some other sound adjustments.
  • Reduced cost of Stash Tabs.

Bug Fixes:

During Campaign-Playthrouh, a failsafe was added for killing Imperial Welryn the Commander early or off-screen. Additionally, an issue was fixed where you could complete all Chapter 1 quests but not have the first Chapter 2 quest "Last Refuge".

Furthermore, the following bugs that were affecting skills, abilities, and passives were fixed:

  • Fixed a bug where Profane Veil's Vampiric Pool gave 40% of the consumed minion's maximum health as ward, instead of the listed 4%.
  • Fixed a bug where Runemaster's passive node Sanguine Runestones’s threshold bonus (15% of health regen applies to ward) was scaling with points allocated.
  • Fixed a bug where the effect of Chthonic Fissure's Eradication was not doubled when the player was cursed.
  • Flame Whip now receives 4% increased damage per point of intelligence (this affects Flame Whip casts from all sources, and previously never received attribute scaling from any source).
  • Fixed several issues with Heorot fight including Ice Spike stopping projectiles, and being frozen not stopping actions in multiplayer.
  • Fixed bug where minions were not benefiting from items when being respawned after leaving towns in multiplayer.

Malfunctioning items as well as some UI, visual and audio bugs were also fixed.

It is also worth noting that another bug fix for Infernal Shade will be released later this week, so stay tuned!

You can also find the full patch notes on the official forum post, where you can read more about all the bug fixes and other details!

In the upcoming 1.1 release of Last Epoch, Harbingers of Ruin, players will witness a significant overhaul to the boss battle mechanics. The traditional adaptive boss damage reduction system will no longer exist, replaced by a more dynamic system that incorporates an existing in-game feature: Ward.
During a recent Q&A Dev Stream, the Last Epoch team revealed some interesting information regarding the overhaul of boss battle mechanics:
Revamped Health Bars and Ward Integration
Bosses, including almost all mini-bosses, will get a redesigned health bar, which will feature distinct pips or markers at various levels, representing one or more breakpoints specific to each boss. Upon reaching these breakpoints, not only will the boss recover a portion of its health as Ward, but it will also be momentarily stunned, providing players with a strategic advantage.

      Ward Mechanics for Bosses
The plan is to set the Ward amount to approximately 75% of the boss’s maximum health. However, the Eleventh Hour Games (EHG) team is actively working on adjusting this to make sure that gameplay is balanced. Unlike player characters, where Ward decay is proportional to the total Ward, bosses will experience accelerated Ward decay over time. The longer a boss has Ward, the quicker it will go down.
      Breakpoints and Phase Transitions
The breakpoints on the health bar will serve a second purpose: for some bosses, these breakpoints will also signal a phase change, providing clear transitions between combat phases and adding a layer of depth to boss encounters.
For those of you eager to see these changes in action, Mike (from the Last Epoch Dev Team) showcased a boss fight during the last developer stream. The gameplay, featuring the new boss mechanics, can be found at the 1:13:57 timestamp, offering a glimpse into the future of boss battles in Last Epoch:

The Last Epoch team always tries to collaborate with the community to provide content that everyone can enjoy. To this end, they released a poll last month to gather players' opinions on the Pinnacle Boss for patch 1.1.
Here are the key takeaways from the poll results.
Regarding the final decisions made by Eleventh Hour Games for the Pinnacle Boss:
The Pinnacle Boss will be released to Offline and Legacy realms with a short delay after its debut on the Cycle. Following the 1.1 release, the Boss will be available on the Cycle. A week later, on July 16th, it will be released on Legacy and Offline realms. If the Pinnacle Boss is defeated before the end of the first week, it will be released to all realms on the next working day. Defeating the boss in any 1.1 Cycle game mode will count, whether you are playing solo or in a party. During the poll, players strongly supported a brief delay between the Cycle and other realms for the release of the Pinnacle Boss.

Question 2 of the poll asked players if they would prefer that a certain amount of time pass before the Pinnacle Boss is released to the Legacy or Offline realms, in case the boss is not defeated. The responses were closely divided: 30% of players wanted no time limit, while 32% preferred a one-week period. The Last Epoch team internally leaned towards one week, and ultimately, this was the decision they made.
Question 3 revealed a split among players between releasing the content on the next working day or waiting for the time limit chosen in Question 2 if the boss was defeated early on. Eleventh Hour Games decided to opt for the next working day.
The final question received a unified vote: Any game mode within Cycle Online should be preferable to the unlocking condition.

In regards to the poll, the EHG team stated that they will decide whether or not to use the same system for other content, such as events and endgame bosses. They may adjust their approach based on the community’s feedback after the release of 1.1 on July 9th for the Cycle: Harbingers of Ruin.
You can take a look at the official Last Epoch forum post for a more in-depth look at all the poll results.

Last Epoch has recently teased a simple image, and speculations have gone wild. What could it be about? Find out what was teased during the last developer stream and jump in for some 'eggciting' news!
During a recent Dev Stream, Mike, one of the developers from the Last Epoch team, teased an interesting item that has peaked players's curiosity! Let's go over what we know or suspect about it!
As the following post on Last Epoch's official X/Twitter reveals, an interesting egg image has been shown during the last developer stream!
Placeholder for tweet 1793015874405712357 The Eleventh Hour Games team behind Last Epoch has not revealed much else about it yet, but players have been sharing their insight and ideas on what this egg could be:
A Dragon Egg: Indeed, it does look like a big dragon egg. This could mean many things, such as: Will there be Dragons in the game soon? Will we be fighting a new Dragon boss? Or will we have access to a new timeline in ancient times where Dragons roamed around? Pets: As simple as it may sound, it could just be an indication of some sort of new pet hatching from eggs. Chronowyrm Egg: Some players mentioned Chronowyrms, some small little dragon-like creature from another time, who would give us access to a new ancient era. Crafting Item: There is also speculation that it could be a new item for the Forge, giving you access to new crafting systems and materials. Relic: A few players also shared their thoughts on the possible idea that it could be a new relic for one of the classes, specifically Forge Guard. Tamer Class: One of the more interesting speculations was the idea that this is a teaser for a possible new class related to taming. What are your personal speculations about this mysterious egg? We think it will most likely be a Dragon Egg and will either grant access to a new Dragon Era or a Dragon Boss.
It's definitely an interesting teaser, and we can't wait to see what it really means!
