Affliction Warlock is the Only Spec Not Eligible for the Dreaming Hero Title

Recommended Posts

Affliction Warlock is the only specialization that will not be eligible for the Dreaming Hero title when Season 3 ends.

As highlighted by Reddit user iWopo, the current Mythic+ rating cutoffs for the top 0.1% title (Dreaming Hero: Dragonflight Season 3 Dreaming Hero: Dragonflight Season 3) are 3647.0 across all factions.

Yet, among the top 5 Affliction Warlocks in the world, none meet the requirements for this title.

"Most people can only dream of achieving this title, but it's especially disheartening to see your favorite spec excluded," iWopo noted.

Many comments in the Reddit thread suggest reworking the Affliction Warlock spec, noting that its flaws make it less enjoyable to play.

I've said it numerous times before and I'll say it numerous times again.

Any achievement in WoW which includes the top % of players competing NEEDS to be spec based when there's discrepancies in balance, demand and usage. 60% of tanks this season are DH in 25+ keys as an example, therefore it makes no sense for the achievement to not take this into account.

Malefic w/e the spender is horrible gameplay. Aff should be 80% dot damange and 20% whatever else. Right now dots, the dots cast by the dot spec, do 20% instead.

Need to go back to MoP aff or something. Not this spender thing.

I really did not mind Malefic Rupture in S1 of SL, but like everything else, instead of balancing the other classes, they nerfed the *filtered* out of Afflic and basically made it unplayable the rest of the expansion.

Malefic Rupture was not the issue though, it had great symmetry with spells/dots like Haunt and Soul Rot, and was/is a great replacement for Shadowbolt, it was just too strong in terms of it not having a cooldown and being able to be spammed if you had 5 shards.

I would go from like 12th in dps to #1 and never look back, after just one round of ruptures, to see Affliction get so brutalized after S1 of SL was honestly really painful to watch, and still remains painful to see how bad it is now, it never recovered.

Yeah...

I mean, I get why the moved away from the stacking UA spender model. Legion completely rebuilt Affliction to play entirely around the artifact. Problem is, when the artifact went away the spec fell to pieces. They managed to sort of cobble it back together with azerites, but ultimately Affliction (along with a number of other specs) went into BfA as just an inferior version of itself.

Then SL came along and even the azerites vanished, leaving literally nothing propping up UA as a spender. Something had to change, and "just make the spender a nuke" was probably the simplest and easiest option. Personally I absolutely loathe the MR play style and would love to see them take a step backwards towards the Legion design, but on an intellectual level I can understand why the devs like MR.

They need to take Affliction back to how it was in Wrath of the Lich King. Meaning your spender/filler was Drain Soul.

To increase the reward's item level, you must complete Delves at a higher tier. We have 9 tiers in total with the last two being only for bragging rights (awarding cosmetics).

The limited time Remix event just got a lot less deadly, as Blizzard fix another bug. Certain high level boss abilities were doing double damage, but a hotfix has cleared that all up!
      Remix (Source)
With a hotfix that we applied a few minutes ago, we’ve fixed a bug that was causing some high-level boss abilities to unintentionally do double damage to players.
For players who have been inside an instance since before the hotfix went out, there will be no change until you leave and start a new instance.
Thank you for your reports and feedback!
