Dragonflight

New This Year

New Skyriding Customization: Cliffside Wylderdrake Armor

When: June 21–July 5
Where: Major Horde and Alliance Cities
Currency: Burning Blossom

"A time of merriment and celebration, dedicated to the hottest season of the year."

Activities

Holiday Event Boss

Use the Group Finder (I) to participate in an encounter against Ahune, granting a Satchel of Chilled Goods (which contains holiday loot) as a daily reward. This is available to characters level 10 and above.

Updated Loot System

We’re changing the way the loot system for the holiday boss drops work. We have increased drop rates significantly for the first boss kill on a single account. Only the first attempt on a single Battle.net account will be eligible to receive the item drop, however. For each subsequent daily attempt on the boss with a single Battle.net account, the chance for the item to drop will increase and continues to accumulate for each failed attempt. This change will allow players to spend less time working to earn a specific dropped item while providing an increasing opportunity to get that item during the holiday.

Daily Quests

Complete special daily quests to obtain experience, gold, and Burning Blossoms to purchase holiday items. For detailed information about the quests, check out the Midsummer Fire Festival guide on Wowhead.

Midsummer Fire Festival

Across Azeroth and beyond, brilliant bonfires have been lit to rekindle peoples’ spirits and ward off ancient evils. Each year, new guardians are chosen to watch over the sacred flames and ensure that they are never extinguished.

Called "Flame Keepers" or "Flame Wardens," these chosen few request the aid of brave adventurers to traverse the land and journey into the dark recesses of Azeroth's dungeons. It is rumored that any heroes who are willing to brave the terrors placed before them will be rewarded for their efforts through the power of the flames.

Activities

The festivities have begun as the citizens of Azeroth celebrate the hottest of seasons by playing with fire all across their worlds!  Stop by a capital city to begin the event’s main quests. While in each of the capital cities, be on the lookout for enemy players; stealing the flames from capital city bonfires. Through your participation in festival quests, you'll collect Burning Blossoms, a special holiday currency you’ll spend to purchase various items and pets available from Midsummer suppliers and merchants.

  • Burning Blossoms–By Fire Be Blessed: Complete quests to earn Burning Blossoms then throw them into the bonfires to receive the buff, "Fire Festival of Fury" which increases melee/spell critical chance by 3% for 1 hour.
  • Holiday Boss: The Frost Lord Ahune: Use the Group Finder (I) to participate in an encounter against Ahune, the Frost Lord.  Once Ahune is defeated, you'll be able to loot a Satchel of Chilled Goods (which contains Justice Points, Burning Blossoms, and a chance of gaining the Frostscythe of Lord Ahune). This is a daily reward available to characters level 84 and above.
  • Dance Around the Ribbon Pole: At every festival camp, one of these traditional decorations stands tall beside the bonfire. Take up one of the multi-colored ribbons and dance around the pole with your friends and fellow celebrants for a 10% experience buff!
  • Stealing The Flames: Members of the Horde and Alliance can visit the bonfires of the opposing faction and steal them, depriving their enemies of the blessings of the fire spirits! Take care, because each side will defend its own flames.
  • Fire Juggling: Speak with the Master Fire Juggler near your capital's bonfire in order to juggle flaming torches in this daily quest!
  • Fire in the Sky: The lengthy Midsummer Fire Festival traditionally ends with the sky itself being set alight on the last night of the festival. You won't want to miss it!

Warning: Play with fire at your own risk. Playing with fire could get you burned. Fire is hot. Love is a burning fire. Please don't fall into the ring of fire. In case of fire, stop, collaborate, and listen . . . then drop and roll. Please enjoy the Midsummer Fire Festival responsibly.

This is kinda weird. Does this mean there is only one chance per day to get the item but all other attempts increase that chance? All other attempts what? Alt attempts? Is a week of one kill a day the same chance as killing in 7 times in one day? The first chance and the 6 alts adding to the chance after that?

It's not really clear based on this paragraph.

This is your last chance to earn some of the Season 4 rewards before they are permanently removed from the game next Tuesday! Check out our list of things to do before the War Within pre-patch hits to learn more!
What's Going Away with the War Within Pre-Patch?
Dragonflight Season 4 will end before maintenance in each region next, making many rewards unobtainable.
      Mythic+
Infinite Armoredon, the Season 4 KSM mount, is going away. You will need a M+ rating of at least 2,000 to get it.
Additionally, dungeon teleports will be removed. You can still get them by completing a specific dungeon on Keystone +10 or higher. The Draconic Hero: Dragonflight Season 4 title will be removed. PvP
Draconic Gladiator's Drake will become unobtainable.
Draconic Legend: Dragonflight Season 4 and the Draconic Legend title can no longer be earned. Draconic Gladiator: Dragonflight Season 4 and the Draconic Gladiator title is going away. Legend: Dragonflight Season 4 is going away, so you won't be able to get the Legend title and Draconic Legend's Pennant. Draconic Gladiator's Prestigious Cloak will be removed. Draconic Gladiator's Tabard is going away. The Season 4 Weapon Illusion will be removed from the game. Season 4 PvP Elite Weapon and Armor Sets are going away. You can buy them with Mark of Honor from Glamora in  Valdrakken. You can buy Orboreal Distinguishment for 2,000 Honor from Seltherex which contains 5 marks. Our friends at MMO-Champion have a nice write-up here on how to get them all ahead of the pre-patch.
      Raids
The Ahead of the Curve: Fyrakk the Blazing mount Renewed Proto-Drake: Embodiment of Shadowflame has continued to drop throughout Season 4 it will be removed when Season 4 ends, so you should kill Fyrakk on Heroic difficulty as soon as possible to get it.
The Cutting Edge: Fyrakk the Blazing achievement is going away too. ???
I'm not really sure what will happen to Jigglesworth, Sr., the Slime Cat mount, which you can currently buy for 3 bullions, once the pre-patch arrives. It depends on whether Blizzard will keep or remove the bullion system after Season 4 ends, but I think it might still be available during the pre-patch.

Blizzard released a hotfix for Hunter's Trap Launcher in Season of Discovery.
      (Source)
We’ve just applied a hotfix to address Hunter mobility.
Trap Launcher will no longer augment Frost Trap. A Trap Launcher version of Frost Trap has only existed in versions of WoW in which mobility and freedom effects were more plentiful. Without them, the safety and agency a 9-15 second ranged Frost Trap grants Hunters is simply too much. We’re making it so that Hunters either need to put themselves at risk in order to place a Frost Trap or have someone engage on them to trigger it.
Please note: if you currently have the Rune equipped, you must unequip and reequip it, zone, or relog before you can use Frost Trap again.

Blizzard is reducing the damage modifier of Fortified from 30% to 20% in this week's beta build to compensate for the recent tank nerfs.
At the same time, the devs will be closely monitoring dungeon and raid testing to see how the tank changes pan out.
      (Source)
In this week’s beta update, we will be reducing the damage modifier of Fortified from 30% to 20%. Our goal is to reduce the overall damage to the group to offset the fact that tanks will likely need a bit more external healing. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we will be keeping a close eye on dungeon and raid testing and will further adjust individual abilities as needed.

Blizzard has added Khaz Algar to the world map in this week’s War Within Beta build!
The new continent is located between Kalimdor and Pandaria.

Khaz Algar consists of Isle of Dorn and 3 underground zones that are connected to each other.
