New Frost Mage Stat Priority?

Recommended Posts

What has changed in the past week besides raid release that makes the stat priority go from:

Multi>Haste>Crit to shatter>mastery>crit>vers

To:

Multi>Vers>Crit to shatter>mastery>haste

These are just AMR stats and I was curious if these are accurate, and if anything what changed.

It's been Multi>Crit/Versatility (Crit is better till 33%)>Mastery>Haste since 6.0.3 of level 100.

Haste will be more important at t17 up to 998 haste if your take Thermal Void.

Again these priorities have been on IV for a few weeks now.

Also those priorities are not entirely correct. Secondary stats other than Multi vary a lot with your specific talent setup and gear, to the point where worrying about them is essentially useless.

As a rule of thumb I'd tend to favor versatility over haste and mastery, as it's a straight up % increase, so bleh. If (when) comet storm ever becomes competitive, I doubt it would benefit from haste or mastery, either. When completely torn down the middle on something, look to the future to find that slight nudge to one side (ex. this will be useful for 3 more weeks than that).

I'd never take vers over haste.

More haste = more casts = more chances for multistrike

Vers = the few casts that you do will hit harder, which makes up for the less ammounts of multistrike provided by haste.

I think, you forgot about multistrike Berlinia... :D

But to be frank, if you've got a crafted item with Multi + Vers, you shouldn't use a reroll item just because it's not Multi + Crit.. That's what basically Crit >= Vers means. It's good if you have more, but not mandatory. Just have Multistrike on each item, really..
