Doing nice DPS Way to make me do more?

Now, I'm not saying I'm doing bad DPS at all, in fact I'm normally topping charts of my guild, or coming pretty darn close, BUT... Could I do more? What are the Haste Plateau's of a Elemental Shaman? By checking my Haste Plateau's VS a dummy I've found that Mastery is nice, by all means it's nice, but having more haste seems to more beneficial, to me at least... Maybe unlucky procs? Maybe it's true... In game stats, are 20.11% haste, 35.45% Mastery, and 10.46% crit... I've seen Elemental Blast hit for 200k + on a often occasion, and my Lava Burst hit anywhere from 68k to 168k... Now, why so high on numbers variation? , I do not know... Maybe it's my Zen Alch Stone Proc? I honestly do not know... Anyway... I'm typically running 50-75k DPS per boss... This seems typically, and most other Ele sham's I've run across are doing 45-57k or so, are they just bad? Or.... I dunno, however, here are my stats...

Any help would be appreciated...

Guess my main question I would like to get answered is... Why are my Lava Bursts critting anywhere from 68k to 168k... When I crit once for 168k it chains anywhere from 142 - 168k every time... Till Ascension is gone, then it back to less then that.

I don't think that there is a relevant haste plateau for Elemental, since you don't rely on DoTs in any significant way. AFAIK you just want moar stats. You can certainly try simming or looking at reforging using ask mr robot, which might well help on your stat distribution.

Good luck.

It might be that using Expertise lets you reforge into Mastery or Haste elsewhere, although I couldn't tell you for sure :)

In which case you should potentially see if you can report it to AMR as an algorithm bug (or "feature" as programmers often like to call it ^_^ )

your on the right track id stack haste till 20% then after that get as much mastery as possible. the increase and decrease of your crits and dmg is due to trinket and wep enchant procs. your dps is good for your ilvl. dw bout mr robot your on the right track. its all about getting the right stats

Intel>15%hit>haste>mastery>crit. dw bout expertise its a melee stat lol.

Actually there is a cap for haste but it's more than 20%, its closer to 25%. There is another "sweet" spot for haste but doubt you will ever get there.. it is 35%

http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/haste

Even when I had talent for Ancestral Swiftness I still couldn't reach it. Even when I sacrificed some hit to attain it.

I find haste doesn't scale as well as Mastery... HOWEVER, haste > mastery whenever possible. There is a balance you have to find based on your play style. too much haste and I can't keep up with my rotation properly, and I removed AS in favor of Echo of Elements. Mastery of course helps Echo proc more often.

the trick to mastery is you need to keep it at 40% or higher.. lower and you are actually going negative. So for you maybe forging for mastery is good until you reach 40%.

Basically until you get to over a iLVL 500, follow ALL the suggestions for a reforge, I like Askmrrobot, but wowreforge takes into account Mastery, Haste priority, and crit stats better than Askmrrobot. I find that around iLVL 500 you can start to take some creative license and reforge as you see fit, sometimes those tools are not the best for your toon.

wowreforge uses hit instead of spirit, so do a reality check and realize that spirit = hit for Ele shaman (and many casters as well)

for example Askmrrobot wanted me to forge spirit > crit... rather than haste or mastery. Crit has almost zero value for caster.. its not high enough to make the procs worthwhile.

you can use both to keep both honest, but ever since MoP has been released for every gear change I immediately get the updated reforge calculations and I stay on top of them, this is crucial to rotation and DPS.

You might be good but you can always be better... that's my philosophy for playing WoW. I take every suggestion, and simulcraft is ok.. but it's really only a baseline to ensure your game play should be fairly close, but REAL world experience cannot compare to a simulation, it is after all an estimate... so only use simulcraft for basic ideas and a point of reference but don't assume if you can't reach those numbers you are doing something wrong.... things change in game ALL the time, and simulcraft could be outdated.

The best thing I found simulcraft for is comparing your talents, that's how I discovered Echo is better than haste (ancestral swiftness). HUGE improvement.

Check me out, look at my haste and stats, see for yourself, then run me through simulcraft.. I am doing at least that DPS no problem.

It's having me reforge OUT of Mastery for it... That's what confuses me.

Give me a link to your character let me take a look, perhaps I can help you out.

<Exo> is an old guild from Dragonblight which semi-recently transferred to Stormrage in search of mythic raiders. We are a guild full of experienced raiders always looking to expand our roster.
We are not a world first guild nor do we aim to be. Our primary goal is to get loot and have a good time, however this still means on progression nights we do expect you to show up, put on your serious face, and kill some shit.
Our raids are on 3 nights a week; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9pm-12 Server Time (EST). The Monday raids are optional farm/alt nights (Normal/Heroic) with Tuesday/Wednesday being mandatory progression nights.
Currently we are in need of any competent DPS, off specs are always a welcome addition but not required. Performance and skill will be looked at above gear, experience, or class.
We do not have a minimum item level required to join our raid team, however we will require you to catch up in our Monday farm-runs up until you are at a mythic level.
If you have any questions or are interested in joining or trialing with us please add Pasha#1800, Java#1849 or Bushido#1988 on bnet to talk with an officer.

Guild: Dawn of the Dead | http://www.dotd.org   Faction: Horde | Server: Zul'jin (PvE) | Timezone: EST   Current Progression: 4/8M Uldir   We've been raiding max size raids continuously since WoW has been released and are the only guild to have done so here on Zul'jin. We have strong leadership, no drama, and plans to keep raiding for years to come. Unlike many guilds, we're not recruiting for the short term, and we don't over-recruit.   Website: www.dotd.org
Raid Times: Our schedule is 8-11 EST Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.   Needs: We are a small guild, and we expect high attendance. As such, we recruit people to raid, and desire people who can step in and contribute immediately. We don’t recruit people to sit around, so all spots are for raiders who can expect to be in most every raid.   We are currently looking to add skilled and reliable:   Ranged DPS:
      High: Warlock
      Medium: Mage, S.Priest, Boomkin
      1 Healer:
      High: MW Monk
*ALL exceptional applicants will be considered regardless of the class.   What we ask of you:   Effort: Not all applicants come from highly progressed guilds, and that’s okay, but it does mean that you need to be prepared. We recruit the player, not the gear, but we do ask that you have some current experience and be a minimum iLvl of 370. You need to have the best gear available to you, (BoE, Crafted) with gems and top end enchants. You also need to be able to display an understanding of your class mechanics, role in a raid, and ability to learn new fights.   Attitude: It’s a game. We play for fun. How you fit in with the guild is taken very seriously. We’re a bunch of mostly 18-30 guys and girls who have fun playing together. While we have a good time, we also know when it’s time to buckle down and work hard.   Skill: The best way to determine skill is to see you in a raid. Because we don’t wish to have anyone transfer that we’re not serious about, be able to express your knowledge of your class and why you’re an exceptional player who would be an asset and is worth a shot. Gear will come with time. Skill will not. Impress us with your knowledge of your class and gameplay mechanics. Feel free to share any logs, theorycrafting, or other work you've done.   Commitment: We make a commitment to you, and ask you to do the same to us. A raid takes a team of more than 20 individuals working together. We rely on you to show up to raids, research your class and new fights, respect your fellow players, and notify us when you are unavailable. You rely on us for gear, experience, and coordination. It's a large investment of our time to train and gear new players, and we ask the same investment on your part so that we can each benefit.   We have a variety of informational resources available to prospective applicants on our web site: http://www.dotd.org-- please refer to our "Applications" forum for detailed information. Also feel free to visit us on WoWProgresss for more information and kill videos! http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/us/...wn+of+the+Dead   Should you wish to speak to someone in-game, please don't hesitate to reach out to an officer directly, whisper Xanah (Xana#1662) or Jeare (Jeare#1759).   We look forward to hearing from you soon!
