Was wondering if anyone has tried it yet raiding and what the exact rotation was? Not gonna try raiding with it because it's not as good for me. As I posted on the pinned thread, SV is nearly 4k DPS behind MM for me. It might be different for players with different gear.

Atrais 38 Report post Posted December 18, 2014 Go for it then, SV isn't bad, it's just not great. Yeah, I happened to have a good deal of MS gear, so redoing gems and enchants gave me SV only ~300 DPS short, so when you consider SV doesnt lose DPS while moving, makes it a gain my eyes
Syncness 4 Report post Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) Going with the sims on the simcraft website, it's very likely that SV>MM because sims are going with 100% sniper uptime. Going by my most recent logs, my sniper uptime on Mar'gok was 68%, that means if I remove 32% of the DPS gain sniper gave me from the sim, I should end up with semi-comparable DPS data for that particular fight. [e] However, one thing to note is that Highmaul items aren't itemized too great towards SV hunters. In any case, I just tried an LFR Kargath and pulled 22.1k DPS with no pots and flask whilst I was simming for 24.3k DPS /w flask and pot. This is a far better fluctuation than what I had with MM which was up to 15-20%, most likely due to sniper uptime. Not to mention SV greatly outperforms MM on anything with AOE due to Serpent Sting spread. Edited December 18, 2014 by Syncness

If you have tons of Crit, but no MS, for example, MM is going to do better than SV. Players need to sim themselves to make that determination, not rely on simulationcraft, which assumes gear they might not have.

Paulbhyden 1 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 Atrais what would you say is a good amount of MS to use survival. Thanks
Atrais 38 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 Atrais what would you say is a good amount of MS to use survival. Thanks It varies based on your other stats. If you have a ton of Crit, MM is going to outperform SV unless you also have a ton of MS. If you are lower on Crit, SV will need less MS to outperform MM. Honestly, if you have more than 5% of one or the other (e.g. 25% crit and 19% MS), I would stick with whatver spec favors your highest stat (since there arent many alternatives right now). If, like me, your stats are very close, you can probably go either way without a major difference. As always, download SimC and check yourself with the various gems and enchants to see what you can do with each spec. When I ran myself with Crit gems, enchants, and food buffs through, SV was behind MM by about 1K DPS. When I switched to MS enchants, gems, and food buffs, SV overtook MM (just barely).
