Elusive Arcane Opener

I've been digging on altered-time and on here for this elusive arcane opener. I'm looking for that 80k arcane opener that I see these other mages bursting there w/ at the beginning of kargath, etc.

 

I've dabbled at it but I'm barely breaking 40k in my 651 ilvl gear, which I can burst over 50k as frost in an opener so I know I'm doing something wrong.

 

I run w/ PC, RoP, and Supernova.

 

AB to 4 AC (or AM if capped on procs)

Cast Arcane Power

Drop Crystal

Supernova 2x off crystal

Spam AB while using AM if at 3 stacks

 

...while standing in my rune of course. What am I missing?

When AP is popped, use AM whenever available, not only when capped.

Also I assume you are prepotting, using Greater flask, augment rune.

 

Other than these, I don't see any problems.

and also I suggest youtube: wow butcher arcane mage pov search and just observe what they are doing closely. Slow the video down, pause it from time to time etc. I cannot suggest more blindly.

Don/'t use AP until after the crystal is fully placed and your GCD is over.

 

Don't use AM procs even if capped before 4 stacks. 

 

Use AM immediately as they come on the crystal, and after the crystal ended whenever you're not above 95% mana.

pretty sure capping AM and then not spending them till 3 AC's is a dps loss.If another AM proc while youre at cap, youre losing that proc for a AB.

And if a new one doesn't proc? (Which is like 65% more likely)

 

Then you end up with 1 less AM at 95%+ mana, which in turn will cost you 10% more mana, shortening your entire burn phase.
