wow WoW 6.1 PTR - Twitter Integration

1 post in this topic

Alongside Blackrock Foundry, permanent Pepe, and a selection of fun new battle pets from Burning Crusade era raids, Blizzard is introducing a major new feature in 6.1 - Twitter integration. #Warlords #ThisShouldBeFun

Something of a sleeper, the ability for players to use Twitter to promote in-game milestones, successfully completing major achievements, or tailored-for-Twitter screenshots just makes sense. Not only will a number of players and guilds take advantage of this for their own reasons - tons of them already have an active Twitter presence - but a no-doubt increased social media presence for Warcraft, with some additional consistency in hashtag usage and branding, is a major publicity win for Blizzard.

Clarification from Blizzard suggests that there will be no API calls or automatic functionality available, meaning that all use of in-game Twitter will be manual by the player (not addons). Automated tweets are also not allowed in Twitter's API. Integration will not come automatically enabled and does not have any ability to create accounts - it's merely an option available to players who want it.

As with all new Blizzard features, the usual array of replies included, "...but why this instead of <X> feature?!" Comparable to back-end infrastructure for things like Mac client video recording, in-game voice communications, or other features that may not see a broad audience, they're valuable to a subset of players and create platform stickiness and benefits back to some users.

Will you be attaching your Twitter account to your WoW account? Excited to post some direct-to-Twitter screenshots?

WoW Secrets Discord channel has nailed it again! After unraveling the mysteries surrounding Riddler's Mind-Worm, Linwail discovered how to tame Elisande's pet, Lalathin!
Lalathin tame has been discovered! Hunters can tame her in the secret Elisande chamber in the Nighthold. The sad news is you can only access it during the raid quest "The Nighthold: Love Tap", which won't be up for a while and you also need to acquire Tome of the Hybrid Beast, which unlocks after completing Power Ascended (when the infinite Artifact trait Concordance of the Legionfall is unlocked and players have earned their Class Mounts).
You can find the pet in our video we made earlier about new hunter tamable Hunter pets in 7.2.

Some more nerfs for the artifact challenges, this time around for Prot Palas, only one Broken Shore fix this time around, Storm drakes can now be hit from more than 2 cm away and we have some tweaks to PvP templates and healing for Druids, DKs and Shamans.
      April 26 (source)
      Artifact Challenges
Protection Paladin Inquisitor Variss health reduced 15%. Highlord Kruul health reduced by 20%. Broken Shore
Imp Mother Bruva is now the only Imp Mother who spawns in the Garrison of the Fel. Creatures
[With realm restarts in each region] A number of storm drakes should now have a hitbox that more accurately reflects their size. Items
Unstable Horrorslime has been made slightly more stable, and should once again deal damage. Player versus Player
[With realm restarts in each region] PvP stat templates now grant appropriate stamina and do not affect the Concordance of the Legionfall Artifact trait. Death Knight, Druid Fixed an issue where Frenzied Regeneration and Death Strike could heal for more than their intended amounts in PvP combat. Shaman Purifying Waters is no longer increased by healing received modifiers such as Guardian Spirit. Windfury Totem now correctly has 5 health. Only one Windfury Totem can be active per Shaman at a time. Previous hotfixes.

It will be even easier to unlock account-wide flying in Legion now that two requirements were nerfed!
Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part Two no longer requires the completion of the Legionfall campaign (Breaching the Tomb).
      To unlock flying
Have Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part One completed Explore Broken Shore Reach Revered with Armies of Legionfall  (Legionfall Commander) This is the second change that will make it easier to unlock flying. The first one was made several builds ago, where reaching Exalted with the new faction (Armies of Legionfall) was necessary (now it's down to Revered).
Nethershard cost for Shard Times was drastically reduced.
      Blizzard Entertainment (Source)
Thanks for the feedback, everyone! The original currency requirement for Nethershards in this quest was temporary until final Nethershard costs and drop rates were determined. The current requirement for this quest is 2500 Nethershards. Also, *spoiler* Khadgar realizes that he was a bit overzealous and at the conclusion of the quest determines he only needs 1. So the player is left with the remaining 2499 to use as they please.

Additionally, some folks are worried that the Legionfall Campaign is going to stop them from flying. It's not! The campaign is not a requirement to unlock flying in 7.2. One of the early versions of the achievement had that as a requirement, but it has since been removed.
You can see this on the PTR right now. It looks like the datamining sites are a bit out of date though.

      1. Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part One - Part 1 completed
      2. Explore Broken Shore - Go to every POI
      3. Legionfall Commander - Reach Revered Rep with Legionfall faction.

Moonkin Festival is one of the newest micro-holidays added in Patch 7.2.5. The celebration takes places in Moonglade and the final reward is 5 Moonkins Hatchlings following you for 5 days.
      Overview
A wonderful celebration of all things Moonkin is happening today in Moonglade. Stop by and see what you can learn!
Go to Moonglade and find Makkaw. He has the "Moonkin Monitoring" quest for you and you're sent to observe three activities vital for the life of every Moonkin. You watch them dance, moonfire and sleep. When complete, you get a Moonkin Hatchling (Moonkin Hatchling) that follows you for 1 day. Then you need to loot a Moonkin Stone to be able to understand Moonkins. By talking to your hatchling you learn it's hungry.
Collect 5 Moonberries and feed the hatchling. Once done, a second hatchling will join you and the buff is extended to 2 days. Don't waste your time searching for the berries in the Moonkin area, you'll find them in the village.

Now you need to kill Jadefire Shadowmasters in the village and they will drop Brilliant Vial, Constellas Corruption & Moonglow Water to create a Moonkissed Antidote and administer the antidote to their friend Clookle, who can be found beneath the village. Entrance can be found in the north. He's Poisoned and petrified.

This will spawn a fourth hatchling and they tell you to go kill Xavinox. He has around 60 million Health and can be problematic to solo for non-tank specs.

He drops Beanie Boomie and the amount of moonkins following you for 5 days is increased to 5.
