Leveling Alchemy 500–600
Be sure to train with Poisoncrafter Kil'zit found in Klaxxi'vess in
the Dread Wastes. Your Alchemy
must be at level 500, and your character has to be at least level 80 to unlock
Zen Master Alchemy.
Alchemy recipes are learned in a completely different manner in Mists of Pandaria than they were in previous expansions. You will only learn 2 new recipes to level up with; when you craft one of these recipes, you have a chance to discover a new Mists of Pandaria recipe. You must discover all of the recipes for Alchemy by crafting other potions/elixirs/flasks that you have learned. We will recommend the potions to craft ideally, but you may have to simply use whatever you have unlocked that is the cheapest to make on your server. From level 530-545, and 545-575, you will only need to choose one of the patterns below; we have listed them in the recommended order based on (estimated) herb prices.

Alchemy Specializations
Alchemy
specializations remain still in MoP, allowing you to specialize in crafting
certain alchemy items such as potions, elixirs, or flasks. Each specialization
has a 20% chance to proc additional potions, elixirs, flasks, or
transmutes when crafting those items, depending on which specialization you chose.
- Elixir Master — has a chance to produce additional Elixirs or Flasks.
- Potion Master — has a chance to produce additional Potions.
- Transmutation Master — has a chance to produce additional Transmutes.
Learning the Specializations
Once you have reached level 475 in Alchemy,
and character level 75, talk to any trainer in a major city and you will be able to pick up a quest for
your desired specialization. Be sure to choose a specialization as early as
possible to not lose out on additional crafts.
- Elixir Master — Requires 2×
Flask of Winter's Bite, 2×
Flask of the Earth, 2×
Flask of the Warm Sun, and 2×
Flask of Spring Blossoms. You do not need to craft these yourself and can simply buy these from other players.
- Potion Master — Requires 20×
Master Healing Potion, 20×
Master Mana Potion, and 2×
Potion of Luck. You do not need to craft these yourself and can simply buy these from other players.
- Transmutation Master — Requires 4×
