Shaman PvP Overview
Shamans have the ability to both heal and
deal damage in a PvP environment, and bring a lot of unique utility that is shared
between specs, such as 
Purge, 
Wind Shear, and 
Hex.
When choosing to PvP as a Shaman, you will need to pick between three different specializations:
Elemental can deal high burst damage with 
Lava Burst
and 
Chain Lightning, have all standard Shaman utility, and can displace
the entire enemy team with 
Thunderstorm. They also deal much more damage
than they used to in Cataclysm, making them a much stronger pick for Mists of Pandaria.
Enhancement requires melee range for 
Windfury Weapon,
but are also difficult to stop due to having multiple movement options including
Feral Spirit, and the ability to deal most of their damage at range while
in 
Ascendance. They are also flexible off-healers with 
Maelstrom Weapon,
but lack a healing reduction effect.
Restoration are a strong healer in Mists of Pandaria due to their
high instant healing from 
Earth Shield, 
Riptide, 
Healing Stream Totem,
and 
Unleash Life. They have new major healing cooldowns in Ascendance,
Elemental Mastery, and 
Healing Tide Totem, which join 
Spirit Link Totem
as ways to recover from falling behind on healing and denying kills to the enemy
team, even while they are using DPS cooldowns and CC.
