Kirin Tor Reputation and Rewards Guide

The Kirin Tor is an elite faction of mages based in the floating city of Dalaran. While the Kirin Tor welcomes members of any race, they are one of the few truly neutral factions in the World of Warcraft.

Dalaran is the main hub for the Kirin Tor, located floating above Crystalsong Forest in Northrend and can be accessed either via Mage portal or by using the teleportation crystal located directly below it along the floor of Crystalsong Forest.

The Kirin Tor offers many useful reputation rewards, such as:

• The most powerful caster DPS helmet enchant in the game: Arcanum of Burning Mysteries
• The pattern for Pattern: Sapphire Spellthread, one of the best leg enchants in the game.
• Some of the strongest pre-raid items in Robes of Crackling Flame, Fireproven Gauntlets, and Boots of Twinkling Stars.

There are several quests scattered throughout Northrend that will grant you Reputation with the Kirin Tor, but the vast majority of your rep will come from doing Dungeons with the Tabard of the Kirin Tor equipped — killing mobs inside of Heroic dungeons with the tabard equipped grants a small amount of reputation for each kill and more for bosses. Kills against elites inside of the dungeons will grant between 9 and 23 reputation depending on the mob type. You will receive enough reputation to reach Friendly by just doing the introduction to Dalaran quests that are required to use the teleporter located below the city in Crystalsong Forest, and Friendly is required to purchase the tabard.

Archmage Alvareaux is the quartermaster for the Kirin Tor; he can be found outside at the top of the stairs in the Violet Citadel located in Dalaran.
