WoW Forever is promising a new (or at least lost) way to experience Azeroth. The joy of the journey, new adventures around every corner, take your time and enjoy a world full of exploration!
But also… You want those extra 5 talents points early from
Talented, don’t you? Doesn’t it sound nice to have the extra 5% HP and Mana regen from
Thrill of Adventure every time you slay an enemy? It’s okay, you can be honest with me. I won’t judge you.
The new Legacy System has a few very strong talent nodes specifically for leveling, namely:
Thrill of Adventure – Get up to 5% Health and Mana back over 10 seconds after a killing blow.
Well Rested – Get rested experience faster, and increase the cap.
Talented – Start earning class talent points one level earlier for each Legacy Point spent.
While all the Legacy Talents are helpful in one way or another, these three specifically are extremely strong for leveling. You don’t have to drink or eat as often, you passively earn more experience, and you’ll have more power earlier with extra talents. So let’s have a look at the fastest way to earn the 15 Legacy Points you’ll need. (Fair warning: this won’t be “fast” by any stretch of the imagination)
Which Legacy Challenges to Target
In case you’ve missed how the Legacy System works, WoW Forever brings Legacy Challenges that reward Legacy Points (let’s call them LP from now on). You’ll need these to learn the Legacy Talents I listed above.

For our goal of 15 LP, the easiest (and as such fastest) Challenges to complete will be the first tier of the Crafting Profession Challenges (there are none for Gathering Professions), followed by the first Dungeon Challenge, and finally the first tier of Leveling Challenges:
Journeyman Alchemist
Journeyman Blacksmith
Journeyman Enchanter
Journeyman Engineer
Journeyman Leatherworker
Journeyman Tailor
Novice Spelunker
Novice Druid
Novice Hunter
Novice Mage
Novice Paladin
Novice Priest
Novice Rogue
Novice Shaman
Novice Warlock
Novice Warrior
Now you might say to yourself, “I can see myself leveling the 6 Professions to 150, but all 9 Classes to level 25? That seems a bit much”, to which I would reply “It’s not all 9 classes, just 8 of them! Also, did you want the fastest way to earn LP or not!?”
In all seriousness, you’re right. Leveling 8 classes to 25 is not a particularly fast endeavor. The thing is, most other Challenges require either a lot more leveling to complete higher level dungeons, raiding, or a substantial amount of PvP grinding.
Alternatively, you could opt to only go for 10 LP, to grab 5 points in both
Well Rested and
Talented (the second requires you to spend 5 points in the first), or 5 points in both
Well Rested and
Thrill of Adventure. Either of these options would already be a huge time saver on your journey to 60. That means you would “only” have to level 3 classes to 25 after getting all crafting professions to 150 and doing the first dungeon Challenge.
The choice is yours.
The Fastest Way to Complete the Challenges
If your goal truly is to finish these Challenges as fast as possible, there are two crucial step that you cannot forget:
The reason for this, is again twofold:
Plainsrunning- A Pet
Why is it so important to have Plainsrunning and a pet? Of course, moving fast between cities and quest hubs helps, but another crucial part of completing these Challenges will be to acquire the mats to level all the professions. You either have to gather all the reagents yourself, or you’ll have to earn enough gold to purchase them on the Auction House. Either way, gathering is the answer to both approaches. Either you farm all the mats you need, or you sell the ones you don’t need on the AH to purchase other ones.
So start by creating your Tauren Hunter with a name like “Gottago Fast”, “Sonic Thebull”, or similar. Then learn Skinning together with either Mining or Herbalism in your starting zone. On your way to level 10, gather as much as you possibly can.

At level 10, learn how to tame your pet. Now every time you see a gathering node and an enemy is close to it, you can send in your pet to grab aggro, while you calmly step up to the node and gather your reagents.
From here on out, continue to level your character while simultaneously gathering as much as you possibly can. You truly do not need to worry about “gathering too much”, as any excess materials gathered will instead generate gold on the Auction House. It’s a good idea to start a bank alt that you can mail your materials to, as your bags might start to overflow before you get back to Thunderbluff. Purchasing a Profession Bag to keep your Herbs, Leather and Ore in is also a good idea.
Don’t forget, as we are going for raw skill point acquisition for professions, there is no point in holding on to Scarce Materials. These are not necessary to level to 150, and will most likely sell very well on the AH.

Once you hit level 25, it’s a good time to evaluate your progress towards the Profession Challenges. At this point you will have no skill in any of the crafting professions, but hopefully a large amount of materials and/or gold from the Auction House. It’s time to make use of that bank alt you made, and learn Alchemy, Blacksmithing or Leatherworking.
After crafting as much as you can with the materials you have gathered (or purchased from the AH), you can go in either two directions: continue to gather on your Tauren Hunter, or start a second character and pick Skinning + Mining/Herbalism, whichever you didn’t choose on your Hunter.
It’s likely that it’s more efficient as far as leveling goes to start a new character, but you will generate more gold on your main that has higher skill level in their gathering professions. There’s a good reason to accumulate gold as well, as you are likely to need to purchase materials for Enchanting, Engineering and Tailoring. Ultimately, if you’re going for 15 LP it is probably best to start leveling a new character as soon as you hit 25. If you’re settling for 10 LP, you can keep farming and leveling on your main until you have enough materials and/or gold to level all crafting professions to 150.
Sidenote Regarding Crafting: As you reach level 25 on your first character and start crafting on an alt, you will have started earning your first Legacy Points. Spending LP is separate for each character, which means that you can go down a different route on your alt and choose points in
Working Overtime. This will increase the rate at which you earn skill points slightly, and the only downside is that you will have to spend some gold to unlearn the Legacy Points if you ever decide to level that alt.

So far I haven’t touched on
Novice Spelunker, which requires you to complete the “first” six dungeons (with a choice of either Ragefire Chasm or Hall of Thanes) on your leveling journey. When you choose to do these is up to you, but it’s never a bad idea to run a dungeon early in your level range, since there are some very strong rewards in all of these dungeons. You can find links to all of our dungeon guides below, which include their recommended level range as well as all the loot.
Conclusion
So, after leveling all crafting professions, finishing the “first” 6 dungeons, and leveling 8 (or 3) different classes to level 25, you’ve finally reached your goal. You will now have a smoother ride to level 60, and all leveling from now on will benefit. Was it worth it?
I think it’s safe to say that this method of getting 15 Legacy Points is not a particularly fast endeavor. But I think that’s also the point. The Legacy System is meant for longevity, to allow each character a different approach to leveling, but also to max level content. One of your characters might go all in on the Profession Tree, while another is fully invested in the Resourcefulness Tree. It’s okay if you decide not to speedrun your way to these Legacy Points, this game will be here forever.
This is also not to say that it’s silly to try to go for the LP as fast as possible. A big part of the joy we get from World of Warcraft is setting goals and achieving them. This can be a goal like any other! Just be aware that it’s not going to be a fast goal, and perhaps not even a timesaver for your first character to 60.
But that’s okay. It’s all about the journey after all, isn’t it?
