World of Warcraft: Forever Blacksmithing Guide

Blacksmithing is a primary crafting profession that turns metals and stone into weapons, shields, mail and plate armor, and other useful equipment. This overview covers what Blacksmithing does in WoW Forever, where trainers can be found for each rank, the best professions to pair with it, and the benefits and campfire features it provides.

Blacksmiths work metal bars into weapons, shields, and heavy armor, giving them a way to outfit themselves or make gear for other players. They mostly make mail and plate armor, so the profession is especially useful to characters who wear those armor types.

Blacksmithing is not limited to equipment. Sharpening stones and weightstones provide temporary weapon improvements, while shield spikes and weapon chainss provide a permanent improvement. Blacksmiths can also make rods that Enchanters need to enchant gear, skeleton keys which can be used to open locked doors or treasure chests, or improve a riders mounted riding speed.

Most crafts require a Blacksmith Hammer and access to an anvil, while some recipes require a forge. Higher-level Blacksmiths can specialize in either Armorsmithing or Weaponsmithing, granting them access to special armor or weapon crafts only available to their chosen spec.

Blacksmiths gain access to four tiers of stat-boosting belt buckles, improving with level. They also gain Repair All, which repairs their equipment for free.

Alongside these personal benefits, Blacksmithing lets you make your own weapons and armor, as well as useful items for other players and professions. The campsite items below can be shared with anyone visiting your camp.

Blacksmiths can make items to place at a campsite once they have the required Blacksmithing skilll. Each higher-tier item keeps the benefit of the Sharpening Wheel while also adding a crafting station for use at the camp. The skill required to place each item is shown below:

Campfire Item	Skill to Place	What It Does
Sharpening Wheel	20	Grants increased Strength to players sitting nearby; the buff does not stack with Strength of Earth Totem.
Anvil	140	Places an anvil at the camp for recipes that require one, and provides the Sharpening Wheel benefit.
Master Forge	300	Places a forge for recipes that require one, and provides the Sharpening Wheel benefit.

Mining is the usual second profession for a Blacksmith, as Blacksmithing uses large amounts of bars and stone that Mining provdes. Mining lets you gather the ore and stone yourself, then smelt the ore into bars for your crafts, saving you plenty of gold. If you would rather choose another profession, you can buy the bars and materials you need from other players.
