Enchanting in World of Warcraft Forever is a primary crafting profession that breaks down uncommon and rare gear into magical essences and dust, which are then used to permanently augment armor and weapons with powerful stat bonuses or create consumable utility items.
Enchanting Profession Overview in WoW Forever
Enchanting is a primary crafting profession that uses magical materials to permanently improve weapons, armor, and other equipment. This overview covers what Enchanting does in WoW Forever, where trainers can be found for each rank, the best professions to pair with it, and the benefits and campfire features it provides.
What Is Enchanting?
Enchanters use dust, essences, shards, and other magical materials to add
permanent bonuses to equipment. These enchants typically improve stats, defenses,
or damage, making the profession useful to every class. Enchanters obtain many of
their materials through
Disenchant, which destroys unwanted uncommon
or better weapons and armor and turns them into enchanting materials.
Enchanting also lets you craft wands, staves, off-hands, and class specific relics; enchanting is one of the few ways for players to get these caster-based items such as wands outside of a random quest or dungeon drop. Enchanting can also make oils, a consumable item that provides a temporary stat boost for casters by coating their weapon in oil.
Many enchants require an appropriate runed enchanting rod in your inventory,
starting with a
Runed Copper Rod. As your Enchanting skill increases, you
will need stronger rods for higher-level recipes. These rods can be expensive to
make, but each upgrade marks a milestone in your progression as an Enchanter,
giving you access to more advanced enchants and crafts.
Enchanting Profession Benefits
Enchanters gain access to personal ring enchants, which directly improve with level. You can choose from Attack Power, Spell Power, or Stamina enchants which can only be applied to the Enchanter's own rings, and enchanting a bind on equip ring will make it become soul-bound.
Alongside these personal benefits, Enchanting lets you improve your own equipment or sell enchants to other players; this can be an easy way to make gold, as players typically pay a fee to get an item enchanted, especially if the Enchanting recipe is rare. Players need will enchants whenever they replace their gear, giving Enchanters a constant use of their materials.
Enchanting Campfire Items and Buffs
Enchanters can make items to place at a campsite once they have the required Enchanting skill; each item requires a nearby campfire. The skill required to place each item is shown below:
| Campfire Item | Skill to Place | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | Grants increased Armor, stats, and resistances to players sitting nearby;

Best Profession to Pair with Enchanting
Tailoring is the usual second profession for an Enchanter,
as Tailoring can turn cloth into uncommon or better equipment that you can then
Disenchant for materials. Because cloth used by Tailoring drops directly
from enemies, you can gather it without needing a separate gathering profession.
You can also disenchant unwanted gear from quests and dungeons, or buy enchanting
materials from other players.
Enchanting Trainers in WoW Forever
Enchanting has four trainable ranks, each of which increases the highest skill level that you can reach. You can learn the next rank before reaching your current skill cap, provided you meet both requirements shown below.
| Rank | Skill Cap | Enchanting Skill Required | Character Level Required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 75 | None | None |
| Journeyman | 150 | 50 | 10 |
| Expert | 225 | 125 | 20 |
| Artisan | 300 | 200 | 35 |
Use the buttons below to select a training rank, then your faction.
Each trainer appears under the highest rank they teach, and trainers
available to both factions are listed at the bottom of both faction tables.
You can copy a /mappin command into the game chat to place a
marker on your map.
