Engineering in World of Warcraft Forever is a primary crafting profession that utilizes metals, stones, and gems gathered through Mining to construct mechanical gadgets, explosive bombs, unique goggles, and tactical utility tools that give players an edge in both PvE and PvP combat.
Engineering Profession Overview in WoW Forever
Engineering is a primary crafting profession that uses metal, stone, and other materials to make explosives, equipment, and mechanical gadgets. This overview covers what Engineering does in WoW Forever, where trainers can be found for each rank, the best profession to pair with it, and the benefits and campfire features it provides.
What Is Engineering?
Engineers turn metal bars, blasting powders, and mechanical parts into bombs,
grenades, guns, ammunition, scopes, goggles, and other devices. Explosives give
you an additional source of damage, and some also help control enemies; for
example, an
Iron Grenade damages nearby enemies and briefly stuns them.
These can be great for dealing additional damage, interrupting dangeous casts,
or running away from a large group of enemies. Most gadgets require the
Engineering skill to use them, not just to make them, so be sure to check an
item's requirements before crafting or buying it.
Engineering also offers practical tools for both solo and group game situations.
A
Target Dummy taunts nearby monsters, giving you time to heal or
escape, while
Goblin Jumper Cables can sometimes revive a dead player
outside combat. A
Parachute Cloak lets you slow your fall, making it
useful when jumping from heights to avoid falling damage.
Many recipes require an anvil and specialty tools kept in your inventory,
such as
Arclight Spanner and
Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor. Engineers
can also choose to specialize in either Gnomish or Goblin Engineering at skill
level 200, granting them access to learn recipes unique to their chosen
discipline.
Engineering is also unique compared to other professions, in that several of its devices and gadgets scale directly with your Engineering Level; this means that an Engineer using a gadget at 250 skill will gain less of a benefit than an Engineer using the same gadget whilst at 300 Engineering skill.
Engineering Profession Benefits
Engineers can use a
Tinkerbox to add a personal tinker to their
belt. These tinkers provide extra abilities, such as
Tinkerbox: Teleport,
which moves you forward 20 yards, or
Tinkerbox: Nitro Boosts, which grants
a temporary burst of movement speed. They can only be applied to the Engineer's
own equipment and come with limiteed charges, requiring you to re-apply them every
3 uses.
Engineering's explosives and utility devices provide extra options in dungeons, PvP, and the open world. You can also craft items for other players, including guns, ammunition, and scopes, while keeping a supply of gadgets and explosives for yourself. The utility and extra damage via bombs that Engineering provides typically will give more damage than other professions. as you will often times have something powerful to use in every situation.
Engineering Campfire Items and Buffs
Engineers can make items to place at a campsite once they have the required Engineering skill; each item requires a nearby campfire. The skill required to place each item is shown below:
| Campfire Item | Skill to Place | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | Allows nearby players to buy reagents at the camp. | |
| 140 | Allows nearby players to repair their equipment and buy reagents;
can replace a |
|
| 300 | Places an Anarchist's Workbench for recipes that require one. |
Best Profession to Pair with Engineering
Mining is the usual second profession for an Engineer, as it supplies ore that can be smelted into metal bars and stone that can be made into blasting powders. These materials are used throughout all of Engineering, so gathering them yourself can greatly reduce the cost of leveling the profession and making your own consumables. Some recipes also need cloth, leather, or other materials that you can obtain from other players.
Engineering Trainers in WoW Forever
Engineering has four trainable ranks, each of which increases the highest skill level that you can reach. You can learn the next rank before reaching your current skill cap, Provided you meet both requirements shown below.
