Wailing Caverns Boss Strategy
Wailing Caverns has nine bosses, including a rare spawn.
| Lady Anacondra
Lady Anacondra is usually the first boss you'll face in Wailing Caverns. All Druid bosses in the dungeon have access to a Lightning Bolt and Sleep ability. She's not very dangerous on her own besides her Healing Touch ability, the biggest danger being pulling possible patrols as you engage with her. If you do, CC the patrol and kill Anacondra first. |
|
| Kresh
Kresh patrols the water on the lower level of Wailing Caverns. Kresh does not have any abilities of note, the only notable thing about him being his high armor. Abilities that reduce mob armor such as |
|
| Lord Cobrahn
Lord Cobrahn is at the end of a lengthy corridor on the West side of Wailing Caverns. He always pulls with three Deviate Pythons, but as these mobs are not elite, they die pretty fast from cleave damage. For Cobrahn himself, besides the shared Lightning Bolt and Druid's Slumber sleep ability, he can transform into a serpent, increasing his damage and attack speed. Healers must pay extra attention to their tank when this happens, to ensure they aren't caught by surprise. |
|
| Lord Serpentis
Lord Pythas can be found by an intersection where Druids of the Fang and Deviate Shamblers patrol, so it is not uncommon to pull him together with 1-2 extra mobs. CC any additional mobs, interrupt Pythas's sleep, and if you are not a melee attacker, stay away from him to not get hit by his Thunderclap ability. |
|
| Skum
Skum is a fairly easy tank and spank fight, with his only ability of note being a Chained Bolt that will connect if players are too close. Stay spread (especially if your group has multiple melee) and he should die fast. |
|
| Deviate Faerie Dragon
The Deviate Faerie Dragon is a rare boss that spawns on a fairly busy portion of Wailing Caverns, which usually means you will usually pull a few extra mobs with this boss. The Faerie Dragon himself does not have any abilities of note, so focus down any Druids of the Fang (and interrupt their Sleep ability!) and help your tank stay alive. |
|
| Lord Serpentis
Lord Serpentis is the leader of the Druids of the Fang. Unlike his counterparts, he does not have any extra abilities besides his shared Sleep, Lightning Bolt and Healing Touch, so keep him interrupted and this fight is a cakewalk. |
|
| Verdan the Everliving
Verdan the Everliving is one of the more challenging bosses in Wailing Caverns for your healer, as his Grasping Vines will root and knock everyone within 10 yards. If you do not need to be near his melee, stay at range to completely avoid this ability. Otherwise, keep an eye on the group's health pools and heal when necessary. |
|
| Mutanus the Devourer
Mutanus the Devourer can be summoned at the end of Wailing Caverns, after killing all four leaders of the Druids of the Flame. You must return to the entrance and talk with the Disciple of Naralex, whom will start an escort event. As you make your way to the end of the dungeon with him, you will clear remaining adds along the way. Make sure no mobs attack the Disciple. Once the Disciple reaches the end of the dungeon, he will begin a ritual that will summon two waves of adds that can be easily AOE'd down, with Mutanus arriving on the third wave. Mutanus has two abilities to keep an eye on: An AOE fear via Terrify, and another sleep via Naralex's Nightmare. He also deals AOE damage around him with Thundercrack, so once again, stay away from his melee range if you don't need to be in there, and try your best to stay alive! |
