Ye Shunguang's Best W-Engines

Listed below are Ye Shunguang's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, however team composition and Drive Disc Sets can change the order slightly. The Baseline option is the best f2p W-Engine, P5 Gilded Blossom. W-Engine scores are ranked against P5 Gilded Blossom.

• 5% - Base
• 30% - Core Skill
• 14.4% - Core Skill Enhancement Bonus
• 20% - White Water Ballad Drive Disc Set (BiS)

This makes her start with a lot of Crit Rate, and because of that Crit Rate W-Engines can potentially perform worse as you risk overcapping. W-Engines with Crit Rate Main Stats can see an improvement of 3-7% if you avoid all Crit Rate rolls, however that is difficult to do and can make farming Drive Discs more difficult.

Cloudcleave Radiance - 122%

Equipper's DMG ignores 20% of target's Physical RES; When equipper activates [Ether Veil], their DMG increases by 20% and Crit DMG increases by 20% for 40 seconds, repeated triggers reset the duration.

The Brimstone - 114%

Scorching Breath
Upon hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dash Attack, or Dodge Counter, the equipper's ATK increases by 3.5/4.4/5.2/6/7% for 8s, stacking up to 8 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Severed Innocence - 112%

Tranquil Blossom
CRIT DMG is increased by 30/34.5/39/43.5/48%. When the equipper lands a hit with a Basic Attack, Special Attack, or Aftershock, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's CRIT DMG by an additional 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%, stacking up to 3 times. The effect lasts for 30s, with each stack's duration calculated separately, and can only be triggered once per use of a skill. With all 3 stacks, the equipper's Electric DMG increases by 20/23/26/29/32%.

Heartstring Nocturne - 106%

String & Melody
CRIT DMG increases by 50/57.5/65/72.5/80%. When the equipper enters combat, or activates a Chain Attack or Ultimate, they gain 1 stack of Heartstring. Each stack of Heartstring allows the equipper's Chain Attack and Ultimate to ignore 12.5/14.5/16.5/18.5/20% of the target's Fire RES, stacking up to 2 times and lasting 30s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

Riot Suppressor Mark VI - 105%

Security Patrol
Increases CRIT Rate by 15/18.8/22.6/26.4/30%. Launching an EX Special Attack grants the equipper 8 Charge stacks, up to a maximum of 8 stacks. Whenever the equipper's Basic Attack or Dash Attack deals Ether DMG, consumes a Charge stack and increases the skill's DMG by 35/43.5/52/60.5/70%.

Growth Through Adversity
CRIT Rate increases by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%. Dash Attack Electric DMG increases by 40/46/52/58/64%. When any squad member applies an Attribute Anomaly or Stuns an enemy, the equipper's CRIT Rate increases by an additional 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 15s.

Cordis Germina - 102%

Sprouting Core
Increases CRIT Rate by 15/17/19/21/23%. When the equipper deals DMG with a Basic Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's Electric DMG by 12.5/14.5/16.5/18.5/20%, up to 2 stacks. Each stack lasts 40s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. Can trigger once per use of a skill. At 2 stacks, the wearer's Basic Attack and Ultimate DMG ignore 20/23/26/29/32% of enemy DEF.

Steel Cushion - 101%

Metal Cat Claws
Increases Physical DMG by 20/25/30/35/40%. The equipper's DMG increases by 25/31.5/38/44/50% when hitting the enemy from behind.

While Ye Shunguang's Signature W-Engine remains her BiS, it is not necessary to get as other W-Engines such as The Brimstone or Gilded Blossom are decent options and can be obtained for free. This gives Ye Shunguang some more flexibility with her W-Engine options, unlike other Void Hunters Hoshimi Miyabi and Yixuan.

White Water Ballad 100% - Baseline BiS Option

2-Piece Set: Physical DMG +10%
4-Piece Set: When the equipper is within any [Ether Veil], their CRIT Rate increases by 10%. After leaving the Ether Veil, this buff remains for 15s. If the equipper is an Attack character, activating an Ether Veil or extending an Ether Veil's duration increases their CRIT Rate by 10% and ATK by 10% for 30s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

Puffer Electro - 90%

2-Piece Set: PEN Ratio +8%
4-Piece Set: Ultimate DMG increases by 20%. Launching an Ultimate increases the equipper's ATK by 15% for 12s.

Woodpecker Electro - 90%

2-Piece Set: CRIT Rate +8%
4-Piece Set: Landing a critical hit on an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, or EX Special Attack increases the equipper's ATK by 9% for 6s. The buff duration for different skills are calculated separately.

Fanged Metal - 88%

2-Piece Set: Physical DMG +10%
4-Piece Set: Whenever a squad member inflicts Assault on an enemy, the equipper deals 35% additional DMG to the target for 12s.

Dawn's Bloom - 84%

2-Piece Set: CRIT Rate +8%
4-Piece Set: Landing a critical hit on an enemy with a Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, or EX Special Attack increases the equipper's ATK by 9% for 6s. The buff duration for different skills are calculated separately.

Ye Shunguang's Stat Priority

Note that Ye Shunguang's best Drive Disc cannot be farmed until her release. I would not advise farming heavily for her second best build option. Additionally, aspects of her build can change during the beta.

Ye Shunguang does not want a Crit Rate Disc 4 due to how much Crit Rate she already has built in. However it can still be a good substat option of course, but you need to be careful not to overcap. Ye Shunguang running the White Water Ballad Drive Disc Set already starts with 69.4% Crit Rate and would only require 30% to reach a 100% Crit Rate.

PEN is the theoretical best option for Ye Shunguang's Disc 5, in which it is 2% better than an ATK Disc 5. However, in version 2.5 a new boss is being introduced which would often be put against Ye Shunguang, this new boss has less defense than normal bosses and this causes PEN effects to become less effective. When paired against this boss a PEN Disc 5 performs 2% worse than an ATK Disc 5, and in that case even a Physical Disc 5 performs slightly better.

While the performance gaps are very marginal, a ATK Disc 5 would yield the most consistent performance across all content.

Ye Shunguang's Skill Priority

Ye Shunguang deals a mixture of Basic Attack, EX-Special, and Ultimate DMG, and those skills should naturally be prioritized alongside her Core Skill.

How to Play Ye Shunguang

Ye Shunguang is a Void Hunter Agent who comes with a unique Attribute - Honed Edge. Ye Shunguang deals Physical damage; however, the majority of her damage comes in the form of Honed Edge damage, which is dealt by entering a special state. Honed Edge is essentially the same as the Physical Attribute and triggers the same Attribute Anomaly effects - Assault & Flinch.

However, Honed Edge has its own Attribute Anomaly Build-Up, and it can trigger a Disorder Effect with the Physical Attribute Anomaly. Additionally, Honed Edge damage has a 50% increased Miasmic Purification, meaning Ye Shunguang reduces miasmic shields faster than other Attack Agents.

Ye Shunguang's Enlightened Mind State

Ye Shunguang deals the majority of her damage during a special stance called the Enlightened Mind State. Her main gameplay loop revolves around entering this Enlightened Mind State; attacks outside the Enlightened Mind State serve only to accumulate resources and enter the Enlightened Mind state.

The Enlightened Mind state revolves around Ye Shunguang's special resource - Sword Force Points. Up to 6 points can be held; however, an additional 3 points can be stored for next rotations. These points can be gained by using Ye Shunguang's various skills, Ye Shunguang's faction bonus Additional Ability: Shadowtrace Flight grants 3 points if any squad member activates an Ether Veil.

Ye Shunguang can enter the Enlightened Mind State by:

• Using her Ultimate Ultimate: Chasing Storms.
• Using her Entry Skill Entry Skill: Illuminating Darkness (requires 6 Points).

Using Ye Shunguang's Ultimate will grant 6 Sword Force Points. Using her Entry Skill requires 6 Sword Force Points. These points are important to have as they allow Ye Shunguang to use her various Basic Attacks and EX-Special Attacks during the Enlightened Mind State. Once all points are consumed the Enlightened State ends; you can also end the state prematurely by pressing .

During Ye Shunguang's Enlightened Mind State, she can deal Honed Edge damage by consuming Sword Force Points.

Additionally, during the Enlightened Mind state, the Veil Vulnerability multiplier is automatically applied to enemies. This Veil Vulnerability multiplier applies the following effects:

• The enemy's stun damage multiplier is applied regardless of whether the enemy is stunned or not.
• Stacks with Stun Damage multiplier bonuses from other Agents and effects.
• The bonus multiplier is capped at 110% (+110% over the base 100%, effectively a cap of 210%).

The Veil Vulnerability serves as a way to increase Ye Shunguang's damage by always applying the Stun Damage multiplier (similar to Trigger's Core Passive: Soul-Searching Gaze core skill). This multiplier can stack with stun damage multiplier effects applied by other Stun Agents. However, the effect is limited to a maximum of 110% bonus. Enemies have varying Stun Damage multipliers, with most boss enemies having a 150% Stun damage multiplier, leaving only a 60% stun damage bonus that can be applied to reach the effective 210% cap.

To deal Honed Edge damage during the Enlightened Mind state, Ye Shunguang can use her Basic Attacks and EX-Special Attacks. Specific combos can be pulled off depending on whether the Enlightened Mind State is entered through her Entry Skill or Ultimate, but the general combo remains. Additionally, just before ending the Enlightened Mind State, a finisher ultimate/ex-special EX Special Attack: Enlightened Mind - Return to Dust can be used to immediately end the Enlightened state and sneak in some additional damage.

• Basic Combo: 4 BA > Short Hold EX > 3 BA > Short Hold EX > ULT

More combos are available, and the best combo can change through multiple factors. The combo highlighted above can generally provide a lot of damage while not being too difficult or complicated.

Ye Shunguang's Best Mindscapes

Ye Shunguang's M1 and M2 are strong early Mindscapes and significantly increase her damage. M1 allows Ye Shunguang's DMG to ignore 20% of Enemy DEF, which makes PEN less effective, therefore using a 2pc Branch & Blade Song alongside a 4pc White Water Ballad and an ATK Disc 5 becomes the clear best option.

M4 is a quality of life upgrade and whether it increases DMG can depend on the specific boss. M4 provides a starting 1,000 Decibels which makes getting a total of 3 Decibel (regular) Ultimates during Deadly Assault battle much easier, with a potential of 4 total (regular) Ultimates. The Veil Vulnerability bonus cap increases to 200%, which only makes a difference against Enemies with a 200% Stun DMG Multiplier Bonus.
