1. Heroes Brightwing Works Well With

In this section, we will look at the Heroes that work particularly well with Brightwing.

1.1. Kael'thas

Kael'thas Portrait Kael'thas is an extremely fragile Assassin who needs a lot of protection. Having a support player who keeps an eye on Kael'thas is crucial, because he innately lacks any form of escape spell. The enemy team will almost certainly try to kill him during a team fight, which is why Blink Heal Icon Blink Heal and Cleanse Icon Cleanse can be essential tools in order to keep him alive. If Brightwing manages to protect Kael'thas, he will be able to unleash his entire burst potential on the enemy team.

1.2. Jaina

Jaina Portrait Jaina finds herself in a very similar spot as Kael'thas — if Brightwing manages to keep her alive through the course of a team fight, her Basic Abilities and Summon Water Elemental Icon Summon Water Elemental will wreak havoc on the enemy team. Polymorph Icon Polymorph is a great tool to keep enemy Heroes, who might chase after Jaina, at bay. Additionally, the movement speed buff of Pixie Dust Icon Pixie Dust proves to be incredibly efficient on squishy Assassins without any escape mechanics.

1.3. Tassadar

Tassadar Portrait Tassadar Tassadar works really well with Brightwing for multiple reasons. Firstly, he is able to use his Plasma Shield Icon Plasma Shield to protect targets while Brightwing slowly refills their health bars. Secondly, his ability to potentially cast Healing Ward Icon Healing Ward at Level 4 synergises really well with Brightwing's Soothing Mist Icon Soothing Mist and Mistified Icon Mistified talent. Furthermore, being a semi-support Hero himself, Tassadar allows Brightwing to go for either Blink Heal Icon Blink Heal or Emerald Wind Icon Emerald Wind, which enables her to freely adjust her playstyle according to the flow of the game.

2. Heroes Brightwing Is Countered By

In this section, we will look at the heroes that counter Brightwing particularly well.

2.1. Murky

Murky Portrait While your Blink Heal Icon Blink Heal makes you very slippery and hard to catch, Murky's Octo-Grab Icon Octo-Grab Heroic ability will lock you in place, preventing you from using any of your abilities and making it easy for your enemies to kill you. Unfortunately, Brightwing is a very poor duelist, so make sure to watch your position when you are playing against a team with Murky in their ranks, especially during the later stages of the game.

2.1.1. How To Play Against Murky

If you find yourself laning against Murky, you will have to pay close attention to his Pufferfish Icon Pufferfish ability. It is Murky's major tool to clear Minion waves and to damage your structures, but you can kill the Pufferfish by attacking it with three consecutive Basic Attacks. This will not always be an easy task due to Brightwing's rather slow attack animation, but if you manage to destroy his Pufferfish in time, you will find Murky to be a lot less troublesome to deal with. Your Arcane Flare Icon Arcane Flare can be very useful when it comes to fighting Murky head to head — just make sure to hit him with the inner area of the circle while his Safety Bubble Icon Safety Bubble is on cooldown. Also, try to anticipate the potential location of his Spawn Egg Icon Spawn Egg trait by watching from which direction Murky approaches you after he dies, and let your team know about it in order to start hunting his egg. In order to save allies locked down by his Octo-Grab Heroic Ability, Cleanse Icon Cleanse becomes an almost inevitable talent when playing against Murky.

2.2. The Lost Vikings

The Lost Vikings Portrait Brightwing has a lot of trouble fighting against the Lost Vikings, as she neither possesses a lot of AoE damage, except for Arcane Flare Icon Arcane Flare, nor is Polymorph Icon Polymorph very efficient against one single Viking, as the remaining two will just continue to attack her. Besides, Longboat Raid! Icon Longboat Raid! is an extremely powerful Heroic ability that inflicts a lot of damage on your entire team, which can cause issues for Brightwing if Blink Heal Icon Blink Heal is on cooldown.

2.2.1. How To Play Against The Lost Vikings

Brightwing is an excellent Hero to soak in lane against one or multiple Vikings. However, her role as a support Hero will sooner or later require her to join the rest of her team, while the Vikings are able to keep soaking experience in her absence. As a result, your team might fall behind in global experience. The best way deal with this situation is to either start pushing with your whole team, or to gank single Vikings fast and determined. During team fights, try to assist your team in focusing the Vikings as soon as they use their Longboat Raid! Icon Longboat Raid! Heroic Ability. All in all, Brightwing has what it takes to counter-heal and counter-soak against the Lost Vikings, however, it will be no easy task to successfully do so, especially for less experienced players.

2.3. Uther

Uther Portrait Uther is one of the few Heroes that is capable of completely countering your Polymorph Icon Polymorph. He does this using Divine Shield Icon Divine Shield or Cleanse Icon Cleanse. Furthermore, his Hammer of Justice Icon Hammer of Justice combined with Divine Storm Icon Divine Storm can cause a lot of trouble if Brightwing exposes herself by using Blink Heal Icon Blink Heal carelessly. All in all, Uther proves to be a very uncomfortable Hero to play against as Brightwing, especially if he is being controlled by an experienced player who knows exactly how to time his abilities in order to counter yours.

2.3.1. How To Play Against Uther

When playing against Uther, you will have to use your Polymorph Icon Polymorph very carefully. Instead of casting it on enemy Assassins or Warriors, you may want to consider using it on Uther himself in order to prevent him from using Cleanse Icon Cleanse or Divine Shield Icon Divine Shield on his allies. All in all, playing against Uther as Brightwing puts you in an awkward situation, in which you are forced to constantly Polymorph Icon Polymorph the enemy Supporter, instead of Assassins or Warriors. However, if you manage to adjust your playstyle accordingly, you should be in a good spot to lead your team to victory.
