How to Defeat Arsenalith (Chrono Gate Boss #4)

The fourth (and currently final) Chrono Gate Boss within Chrono Odyssey is known as "Arsenalith". Although this is the fourth Chrono Gate Boss, many actually consider the battle itself to be an easier, more straight-forward fight than defeating Primeval Capra (the third Chrono Gate Boss).

This guide will share everything you need to know in order to defeat Arsenalith, including a deep-dive in level and gear recommendations, suggested consumables, battle mechanics and phases, and tips and tricks to succeed in this battle.

2.

Level and Gear Recommendations

Before challenging Arsenalith, it is recommended to be at least level 15, and to have a full set of level 15 gear. Although this is not a requirement, it will make the battle much, much easier and greatly increase your chance of successfully defeating Arsenalith.

For optimal gearing, it’s highly recommended to transfer the trial-specific perks from the level 5 gear (available from NPC Zakal outside the Trial of the Tilted Walls) onto level 15 gear.

These perks will greatly increase the damage output and survivability of your character, and includes the following:

  • Trial's Retaliation (Chest Perk): Summons thorns that reflect 100% of damage received (up to 74% of the enemy's attack. for 5 seconds (cooldown: 27 seconds).
  • Trial's Resistance (Head Perk): Stuns the enemy for 3 seconds when hit (cooldown: 24 seconds).
  • Trial's Agony (Legs Perk): Deals additional damage equal to 10% of the target's lost HP upon landing an attack (cooldown: 3 seconds).
  • Trial's Refutation (Back Perk): Recovers HP equal to 18% of damage dealt upon landing an attack (cooldown: 5 seconds).
  • Trial's Endurance (Feet Perk): Triggers [Super Armor] for 5 seconds when HP drops below 20% (cooldown: 60 seconds).
  • Sequence of Trials (Hands Perk): Upon being hit, deals 5% Physical Damage over time for 5 seconds (cooldown: 15 seconds).

To learn more about how to obtain these perks and transfer them on your gear, watch the video below.

Consumables

There are multiple consumables that you should ensure you have prior to entering this battle, including the following:

  • Advanced Nectar of Fortification - Grants +3 to Strength, Dexterity, Intellect, and Wisdom for 30 minutes.
  • Advanced Nectar of Agility - Grants +10% Movement Speed and +9 Max Stamina for 30 minutes.
  • Advanced Warrior's Meatloaf - Increases Attack by 35 for 30 minutes.
  • Uncommon Hearty Pottage - Increases HP Recovery per Second by 12 for 30 minutes.
  • Guardian's Grilled Fish - Increases Physical and Magic Defense by 25 for 30 minutes.

Each of these consumables listed above will last for a total of 30 minutes, which is more than enough time for you to complete each phase of this fight. Additionally, they will all stack on top of each other, providing your character with a large range of buffs, making this battle much, much easier.

Please note: It is not required to have all of these consumables - the more you have, the more buffs you will gain, making this battle easier.

It's also recommended to ensure you have the maximum amount of Health Potions available to enhance your survivability. You likely will not need to use these until the fifth and final phase of this battle (more info on this below).

4.

Location

The fourth Chrono Gate is located in the lower right corner of your map, directly under the large face icon (pictured below). As you approach this area, you will come across a large fountain filled with blood. Once you jump into the fountain, you'll be able to "inspect" the bloody water, which will then teleport you to the final Chrono Gate.

5.

Battle Mechanics and Phases

As you enter the fourth Chrono Gate, you will be surrounded in what visually seems like a dust storm, with only one direction to move: forward. After taking a few steps forward, you will eventually encounter the first phase of this battle with Arsenalith, where you are secluded in a small area, and only need to do a small portion of damage until it runs off further down the path. This battle is very straight-forward, and you should not struggle with this phase - just focus on dishing off damage by dumping your skills, and kite the boss if needed if your health gets too low. You will only need to take off around 10% of his health bar before this phase ends, giving you some time to rest.

Please note: It is NOT recommended to use your Chronotector during this phase, as this phase will be extremely short, and you shouldn't need the extra support yet.

Once Arsenalith runs forward, the first phase is completed. At this point, you should stay where you are until you regain your health fully, and all of your cooldowns are reset. Once this happens, continue down the path.

As you continue down this path, you will encounter an almost identical phase as the first one three more times. The only difference for these phases is that you will need to deplete Arsenalith's health bar by around 30-40% instead of 10% before he moves on to the next phase.

Please note: Starting at the second phase, Arsenalith will begin to introduce new attacks that he can dish off, but don't worry - these attacks are easily predictable based the type of weapon he is holding. Throughout the battle in each phase, his arm will transform into different types of weapons (such as a large bow, which signals a ranged attack, or a large hammer, signaling a melee smash).

After defeating the fourth phase, it's highly recommended to ensure you have the buffs still active from the recommended consumables mentioned above. These buffs will further support your damage output and survivability during this last phase. It's also recommended to have your Chronotector set to "Summon", and to use Primeval Capra as your summon choice.

Once you're prepared, you will move forward and eventually see the text, "Respawn Point Activated" appear in the center of your screen, signaling the start of the final (and most difficult) phase of this fight. This battle will be much longer than each of the previous phases, and you will need to ensure you focus on dodging any attacks coming your way. These attacks are almost identical to the previous few phases, so you should be aware of what they are at this point.

Your overall approach to this battle will be dependent on your class. If your class specializes in only melee weapons, you will have to get quite close to Arsenalith to dish off damage. The one ability you will want to be most cautious of is his spin attack, which is signaled when he crouches down towards the ground. When you see Arsenalith do this - dodge backwards and keep distance until he stops spinning.

If you are ranged class, simply keep your distance between you and Arsenalith, and you shouldn't have any problems. The attacks you should be most cautious of is when its arms transforms into an oversized bow - signaling an upcoming ranged attack.

If you end up missing a dodge, don't sweat it. The arena for this battle is large enough that you can kite the boss by running in a large circle around the outer edge of the arena, allowing you enough time to regen some health, and even reset your cooldowns for your skills. If it's needed, you can even kite the boss long enough for your Chronotector timer to reset, allowing you to take advantage of your set summon.

After following the steps above, you should have no problem defeating Arsenalith, which will then allow you to unlock him as a Summon option on your Chronotector once you speak with Petra at the Citadel.
