Ranger Guide — Chrono Odyssey
The information on this page is based off of the recent Closed Beta Test (CBT) of Chrono Odyssey. This information may change as additional updates and developments are made to the game. We will continue to test and update this page as new information releases.
Ranger is a mobile Ranged DPS with two playstyles: precision burst and DoT uptime via Poisons and Burns. The class shines when you weapon-swap to stack short buffs, then cash out in safe burst windows. Re-specs were free in the Closed Beta Test, so treat this guide as a flexible framework.
In this guide, we will cover everything you need to know about the Ranger class in Chrono Odyssey, including weapon options, available skills, playstyle choices, class masteries, positioning, gear recommendations, and more.
Ranger Weapon Playstyles
Each of the three weapons were great for Ranger in the past testing. The bow was more for precision, debuffs and for those with aim and patience. The bow needed much more care and attention to maximize your damage.
Crossbow was the fan favorite, thanks to its ease of aiming and shooting, with the fast fire rate. It is also much less punishing than the Bow counterpart.
The Rapier is a melee weapon that is great for swapping to buffs and cleaning up any enemies that got close to you. However, the Rapier's damage was significantly lower than both the Bow and Crossbow. Additionally, the buff gained from swapping was not as good as the Bow and Crossbow synergy.
Bow and Crossbow have one of the strongest synergies in the game. Meanwhile, the Rapier just adds stats but felt really niche. That being said, this was just from the first Closed Beta Testing and is heavily subject to change.
- Crossbow — Really fast headshot pressure, reliable filler, and Tornado Shot for add waves or solo dungeon farms.
- Bow — Much Bigger hits and key debuffs. Charged Shot and Radiant Arrow anchor your burst and Bow also carries many stun and crowd-control hooks.
- Rapier — Melee weapon with buffs and skilled in close-combat. However, it may require more effort to reach high damage thresholds than other Ranger weapons.

Consumable Recommendations
Please Note: Consumables will receive massive changes in the upcoming Closed Beta Test for Chrono Odyssey. As such, information below may be out of date and is currently preserved for reference.
Below are general consumables that can be used to help bolster your character's strength if you find yourself in need of more power. Each of these consumables will last for a total of 30 minutes, and you should consider using each of them prior to starting any form of difficult content.
- Advanced Nectar of Fortification — Grants +3 to Strength, Dexterity, Intellect, and Wisdom for 30 minutes.
- Advanced Nectar of Agility — Grants +10% Movement Speed and +9 Max Stamina for 30 minutes.
- Advanced Warrior's Meatloaf — Increases Attack by 35 for 30 minutes.
- Uncommon Hearty Pottage — Increases HP Recovery per Second by 12 for 30 minutes.
- Guardian's Grilled Fish — Increases Physical and Magic Defense by 25 for 30 minutes.
For better offensives with precision, Rangers should prioritize consumables with Crit, Attack, and Haste. If you are looking to build further into DoT, prioritize consumables with DoT Potency and Duration.
Please note: One of the recent updates regarding consumables is a major one which impacts Health Potions. HP potions no longer function as individiual consumable items, and is now part of a permanent, rechargeable system. HP potion usage is mapped to a dedicated key, freeing up consumable slots, and will auto-refill upon death in instanced content. Best practice is to ensure your character has the maximum amount of health potions available before starting difficult boss battles of PvP-related content.
