Heroes of the Storm Jaina

Yeah, the merc camps are the most reliable source for the orbs. When in lane I feel like some people just wait for me to go for the orb just to punish me, so collecting them sometimes might be tricky and put you in danger, and I usually play Jaina very cautiously, especially in the beginning as she is so squishy. I think the fastest I completed this quest was around 14th minute mark, but still, the extra damage on frostbite was redundant at that time.

As Jaina, you usually want to be in the 4-man rotation: you clear the wave with Blizzard, and let your tank get the globe; then rotate to other lane (if in 3 lane maps) and do the same. This way, you can safely get globes from 2 lanes, which makes the quest so much easier to finish.

In case you're in solo lane though, there're a lot of things you can do. Generally, if you feel threatened, you should let the enemy laner push the wave to your tower, so that you can get the globe much safer.

The extra damage on Frostbite is very useful. It adds a considerable amount of damage to your burst combo, and in case you finish the globe quest before your Frostbite quest, the extra damage allows you to stack faster to get your Ice Block, which is a huge deal because it's your main defensive tool.

For me, Jaina has 3 builds, really:

Standard: https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#37.0!3122222

Vs Sgt. Hammer: https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#37.0!1222122

PvE Brawl: https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#37.0!3211213

I sometimes deviate into Ring of Frost (+ Ice blink) and/or Numbing Blast in the first two builds. Icy Veins I don't like though I know it's good - but I tend to be too sluggish to land that combo and have yet to practice it to get the most value out of it but due to my low MMR my teammates are not going to protect me (thus granting more value to Ice Barrier for reasons that have nothing to do with Jaina herself). The third build is an exclusive build for PvE Brawls, something that is probably unique to Jaina.

The build in the guide is the best by far... in an ideal situation. This is, you have a heal and a tank watching your ass, you know how to position properly.

But if you are learning Jaina or are playing clown fiesta QM there are talents that worth a look. I like this cool gal a lot, so here are my two cents:

  • Winter Reach (1): To consider in games where poke wars are going to be heavy, this ability makes lance a very useful ability in this scenario.
  • Lingering Chill (1): A nice talent when you are learning Jaina and versus heavy mele teams if you can give up the 10% bonus dmg.
  • Frost Armor (4): The pierce is very very good, but this one may help you to survive versus divers and also, as this ability chill them, you can retaliate with full power. Another very good ability to new player who will position poorly.
  • Ice Foes (7): The best part is the CD reduction, very situational but it has its uses versus a heavy mele team.
  • Ice Fury Wand (7): Not a big fan of it but other player say that it is great versus squishy divers.
  • Ice Barrier (13): Amazing talent for new Jainas, they won't make a good use of Icy Veins and the shield is noticeable, specially if you fight around minions/monsters. Also this also make Jaina very good Mercing.
  • Deep Chill (20): You are giving up a lot of damage but this talent gives a lot of control. It's not viable in high level matches but for new Jainas and in clown fiesta QM it works.

Nice synergies:

  • Lingering Chill (1) + Frost Armor (4) + Elemental (10) + Ice Barrier (13) + Deep Chill (20) = Low Damage but very high control, not ideal but you may work as a kind of support in QM slowing everyone when you are paired versus a lot of assasings or mele. Also nice build for new Jainas as it is very defensive but at least brings utility to the team and you can Merc.
  • Winter Reach (1) + Frost Shards (4) + Ice Lance (7): This Full Q build is very nice to interrupt channeled objetives from a safe distance (2 heroes are required to intercept the bolt and the range is huge), and if you manage to hit them with Blizzard then they just can't stand as the CD would be 2 secs.
  • Ice Barrier (13): with this one you may do Mercs, tank some hits from bosses and stand in a temple or shrine, icy veins is better in an organiced team thought.
  • Lingering Chill (1) + Ice Lance (7): You can proc the CD reduction only with Ice Lance, without using Blizzard or getting close.

So the builds:

Pro jaina build (full damage): https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#40.0!311.33.

Poke wars build: https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#40.0!1112112

Anti dive build (for QM clown fiesta): https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#40.0!2312234

Anti heavy mele team (ofensive): https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#40.0!3122332

Anti heavy mele team (defensive): https://www.icy-veins.com/heroes/talent-calculator/jaina#40.0!2312234

Heroes Developer Blizz_DWarner wrote a personal post on Reddit, thanking the community for the amazing time they've had designing the game over the 8 or so years.
      (Source)
      Hi everyone!
Just wanted to pop in and give a proper personal thank you and goodbye to all the lovelies that have kept the community alive and thriving over the years.
I’m gonna get mushy for a bit, but I feel I can’t even begin to express how much this game and its community means to me. Anyone who has worked on any artistic or creative endeavor knows that some portion of ‘you’ goes into your work and becomes inextricably written into your soul. It's painful to look back and see those freshly separated fragments of 'you' suspended in time, but that's life eh?
I started on this project some 8 or so years ago as an assistant technical designer, originally tasked with simple data implementations of the first sets of maps and heroes. Since then, I’ve touched probably every map, dozens of reworks, several core hero designs and of course several thousand bugs. This work was not spawned out of some special DWarner pocket dimension though, it occurred here, in the real (digital) world, with my hundreds of (very talented and handsome) coworkers and most importantly, you.
Despite what community consensus might state, designers are usually present in forum discussions, watching popular streams (special shoutout to FollowGrubby, CCL, and the crew of Into The Nexus) and of course sharing dank memes. All of your participation and energy helped us trudge through our difficult days (it’s still a job after all), guide our decision making, and just generally help us feel like we’re part of something more than just data fields and debug maps. We couldn’t have done it without you, so thanks, really.
If you made it this far, raise a glass of whatever and say cheers to all! Cheers to the passionate, cheers to the haters, cheers to the memers, cheers to the contrarians! Cheers to the goof leaguers, wood leaguers and the most sparkling diamonds! Cheers to the quickmatchers, cheers to the Vs AI’rs, cheers to the ppl that play every night, or only twice a year! Cheers to Spazzo and Notbelial and all the lurkers too! Cheers to CCL, the 323r’s, the 6.5r’s! Cheers to the whole damn lot of you ❤️
      Steaming hot regards,
      Blizz_DWarner
      P.S. I'll see you all in Diablo 4 ?
