Patch 6.2 Preview - Bonus Events and Adventure Guide

Recommended Posts

Coming in Patch 6.2, Blizzard is introducing Bonus Events - a rotating schedule of seven activities that will be available Friday through Monday every week. These events confer bonuses to a particular activity or event and a once-per-event quest with a significant reward. Details will be available in the in-game calendar. You can accept links to Bonus Events and other things in the new Adventure Guide, detailed below.

Bonus Events will rotate between Timewalking, Draenor dungeons, battlegrounds, Arena skirmishes, Apexis quests, and pet battles. The rewards during the Bonus Events are as follows:

  • Timewalking - Scaled up gear; three dungeons award an additional bonus roll seal (above the three seal per week limit)

  • Draenor dungeons - Reputation gain; two Mythic difficulty dungeons will award a Heroic Hellfire Citadel raid cache

  • Battlegrounds - Triple Honour points; winning a few random battlegrounds award 500 Conquest points (not counted towards weekly cap)

  • Arena skirmishes - Triple Honour points; winning a few skirmishes will award 500 Conquest points (not counted towards weekly cap)

  • Apexis - Triple shards from eligible creatures; completing three assault objectives will award Oil to fuel new Shipyard Naval Missions.

  • Pet battles - Triple pet experience; winning five PvP pet battles will provide a training stone that instantly levels a pet to 25

Also new in 6.2 is the Adventure Guide - an interactive landing page to suggest content you can work on to improve your character level, item level, quest progress, achievements, and more. It will also link to the Group Finder to find players with similar objectives in a single click.

The community has noticed multiple changes in Dalaran in the forthcoming Dark Heart patch.
As spotted by Constellar-A, the Legion version of Dalaran underwent the following changes:
The Forsaken and Worgen guards for the Alliance and Horde areas have been replaced with Blood/High Elves, just like they were in Wrath.

The Council of the Six is now found in the Portal Room, with an encrypted model (blue box) for the new member replacing Kalecgos after he stepped down at the end of Dragonflight.

At this time, we don't know who's replacing Kalecgos. Maybe it's going to be Aethas or perhaps even Thalyssra? Let us know your wild guesses down in the comments!

We have another combo hotfix platter with retail and Season of Discovery, with 10.2.6 getting two Druid fixes, while SoD Phase 3 gets a lot of class changes, Darkmoon card tuning, and a raid fix.
      April 11 (Source)
Druid Balance Fixed a bug that could prevent a Druid with Radiant Moonlight who died and resurrected from getting more than one cast of Full Moon before it resets to New Moon. Primordial Arcanic Pulsar progress now resets on raid encounter start. Feral Damage dealt from  Berserk: Frenzy and  Burning Frenzy (Seasons 3 and 4 set armor 4-piece bonus) will now log correctly when buffed by an Augmentation Evoker. Season of Discovery
Darkmoon Card: Overgrowth proc chance increased to 10% (was 5%). Darkmoon Card: Decay now procs from ranged attacks and abilities. Anguish of the Dream’s bonus damage on next ability will no longer be consumed by professions. “Jungle Durian” now rewards 20 Jungle Durians (was 10). Rogue Cheap Shot’s stun effect can now correctly apply to targets under the effects of Goblin Rocket Helmet’s Reckless Charge. Combat Potency and Deadly Brew can no longer proc from Fiery Weapon procs. Shaman Rolling Thunder now correctly restores 2% of the Shaman’s total mana per Lightning Shield charge released. Shamans should now appropriately have access to Rank 4 of Fire Nova (was Fire Nova Totem) when the rune is engraved. Warlock Unstable Affliction is now affected by Haunt’s increase. Damage over time effects that crit through the Pandemic rune will now be able to activate Dance of the Wicked. Felguards summoned by Warlocks are now given an appropriate demon name. Warrior Gladiator Stance will now appear at the end of your stance bar instead of the beginning and will no longer rearrange the order of your stances for the purpose of stance macros. Sunken Temple Fixed an issue that would occasionally cause Dreamscythe and Weaver to evade when their target survived falling into the Pit of Sacrifice.

Blizzard have shared a whole bunch of stats from all the Plunderstorm matches so far! From the 35 million players killed during the event, to the 321 wins earned by the best single player, 1.4 million plunder looted by a single player, Ar'gorok farm being the most popular drop spot, Stromgarde the deadliest, the tarantula spiders being the most killed mobs, Storm Archon the most-cast ability, the Fire Whirl + Rime Arrow + Fae Form + Fade to Shadow combo being the most popular setup, but it's still the basic attack that's killed the most players, 31% of them, in fact, with Fire Whirl in distant second place.
There's more stats in the video below so let's check it out!

There are new filters coming to the Premade Groups LFG tool in Dark Heart! We're getting role requirements, specific dungeon selection, minimum M+ rating, your own class not being present, and more!

Source: New native Premade Group Filter in 10.2.7 by minimaxir
And here are the full details from the patch notes:
      New LFG Filters (Source)
Several changes have been made to improve the experience of finding Mythic+ groups in Premade Group Finder: A filter button has been added that lets you filter results for: Specific dungeons Your role available None of your class already in group Tank and/or healer already in group Minimum Mythic+ Rating of the leader Difficulty The role icons on each listing now show class colors, so you can see the current group makeup at a glance. The listing tooltip now shows the leader’s info in a more readable format: their Mythic+ Rating, their highest key for the listed dungeon, and their highest key for all dungeons. The listing tooltip now shows info for all members of the group, including their specialization and Mythic+ Rating (implementation pending). The listing tooltip now shows the dungeon/raid name and difficulty. A helptip tutorial has been added to teach players that they can search a key range for precise results (for example, 6-10 or 7-7). Groups that no longer fit your filter criteria are marked with a red background (for example, if you selected “Damage role available” and a listed group filled up on damage dealers). Groups you are hard declined from are automatically marked in red and sorted to the bottom. In the leader applicants pane, the applicant tooltip now shows the applicant’s info in a more readable format: their Mythic+ Rating, their highest key for the listed dungeon, and their highest key for all dungeons.
