Really Low Budget Mech Mage Deck (no naxx, no brm)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, here it is a cheap mage deck you can craft to win a few ranks in ladder and have a lot of fun. It does not requires naxx nor brm cards, so its perfect to any free to play who's just starting.

Mech Mage Deck:

2x Clockwork gnome (40 dust each)

2x Flamecannon (40 dust each)

2x Frostbolt (basic)

2x Unstable portal (100 dust each)

1x Sorcerer's apprentice (40 dust)

2x Annoy-o-tron (40 dust each)

2x Snowchugger (40 dust each)

2x Arcane intellect (basic)

1x Mirror entity (40 dust)

2x Harvest golem (40 dust each)

2x Fireball (basic)

2x Polymorph (basic)

2x Water elemental (basic)

2x Goblin blastmage (100 dust each)

1x Ogre Magi (basic)

2x Piloted shredder (40 dust each)

1x Flamestrike (basic)

Total dust required: 960 (all craftable)

Ogre magi may seem ridiculous but you'll see that may come pretty in handy when you need that extra dmg on flamecannon to kill a belcher and go face to win the game.

Sorcerer it's a good two drop minion for early game besides that reduction cost on spells.

I'm having great results with this deck, but let me know what you think of it and what changes would you make to improve it.

So from the beginning:

Cogmaster is a way better 1-drop than Clockwork, at least if you don't have Antonidas

Spider Tank is much better 3-drop than Harvest Golem

Mirror Entity makes absolutely no sense without Mad Scientist

No Mechwarper...

Unstable Portal is played in Mech Mage only in conjuction with Mana Wyrm, alone it does nothing

Ogre Magi, App, Water Elemental, Flame Cannon (especially without Wyrm)... I don't even know what they are suposed to do.

There is nothing wrong in playing on budget, but do it in sensible way, this is just bunch of random cards and it costs almost 1000 dust already. No Legend and no Adventures? Ok:

2x Cogmaster

2x Clockwork Gnome (not that important since there is no Antonidas here and there are additional 1 drops in form of 2 Wyrms)

2x Mana Wyrm

2x Frostbolt

2x Portal (because you have them already)

2x Annoy

2x Snowchugger

2x Mechwarper

2x Spider Tank

2x Tinkertown

2x Shredder

2x Mech Yeti

2x Blastmage

2x Fireball

1x Azure Drake

1x Flamestrike

Around 1000 dust just like you asumming you don't have anything already (pretty unlikely considering you can easily collect most mechs from gvg packs) and now it's at least playable, while still budget. No adventures or legends included.

      Hey all,

Not new to hearthstone but haven't been playing constantly and just jumping back in towards the end of July.  I am not sure if there's a better name or configuration for this yet but I've had some good luck with it so far.  If nothing else it's just really fun to play for me.
This deck has no duplicates to take advantage of Zephyrs the Great and Sir. Finley of the Sand.

Never posted a deck before so not sure if this is how of the place but feel free to give me constructive feedback.

Hi everyone. So I've read the guide on fire mage here on Icy-veins and got some questions related to single target rotation. First I'd like to ask about the meteor. It is mentioned that meteor should be used with Rune of Power which is fairly easy to do since Rune of Power is always ready when Metor is off cooldown. However It's also mentioned that Meteor should always be available when Combustion comes off cooldown. Now Combustion has a 2 min cooldown and meteor has 45 sec cooldown. I can use meteor twice while Combustion is on cooldown. However If I use Meteor twice , It is on cooldown when Combustion is ready. Should I wait for Combustion and not cast Meteor on the second time until Combustion is ready?
Second what I'd like to ask is about Combustion after the opener. Its mentioned that I need a hot streak before I pop It. I fish for Pyros by casting Fireball until I get a crit and then use Fire Blast. However when I get an Hot streak I'm already mid-casting Fireball. Should I cancel the cast and cast Rune of Power or should I let that Fireball hit and immediately after start casting Rune of Power?
It's also mentioned that I need to have a Fire Blast charge always ready before going in Combustion phase. Should I save up a charge and ignore the Heating Ups I get regardless and hope for Fireball to crit twice or basically wait for Fire Blast to get another charge?
      Thanks 🙂
