Coming Soon: Dynamic Bundles

In an effort to improve the experience for players who wish to purchase content in Heroes of the Storm's bundles, but might already own a particular Hero or skin, Blizzard is introducing Dynamic Bundles - bundles of three or more items where their price will be reduced by the cost of whatever content within the bundle you already own!

The only exclusions on Dynamic Bundles are:

  • Two-Item Bundles. In these cases, you cannot receive a discount on the second item (typically a skin) if you already own the first item (typically a Hero).
  • Bonus Items. If you own ALL of the contents of a bundle except for its bonus items (such as the Stimpack included with the Starter Bundle), you cannot purchase the bundle for only the bonus item (special bundle mounts, etc. would also apply here).

Complete details on Dynamic Bundles from Blizzard are as follows:

Blizzard Icon Coming Soon: Dynamic Bundles

Until this point, the Heroes of the Storm Shop has only featured bundles that we refer to as “Static”, meaning that their prices and contents were inflexible. We weren’t quite happy with the way this experience might feel for players who already owned some of the items a bundle contained, and feedback from the Heroes community has mirrored some of our own feelings about bundles. With these things in mind, we set out to make improvements, and we’re pleased to announce that Dynamic Bundles will arrive to the Shop with our next major Heroes patch!

In short, Dynamic Bundles are bundles that offer three or more items, and their prices will be reduced when you already own one or more of the items they contain. You can expect that a Dynamic Bundle’s total price will be lowered based on the prices of the items that you already own within that bundle.

  • For example: Consider a Dynamic Bundle that includes the Roller Derby Nova Skin. If you already own Roller Derby Nova, the total cost for that bundle will be reduced by the Skin’s bundle price.

However, there are some exceptions where you will be unable to purchase a bundle if you already own some of the items it contains.

  • Two-Item Bundles: These are Static Bundles that cannot be purchased if you own one of the two items they contain.
  • Bonus Items: You will be unable to buy bundles that include items such as a Stimpack or bonus Gold if you already own all of the other items that bundle contains. For example, you will be unable to purchase the Starter Bundle (pictured above) if the Stimpack it offers is the only item you do not already own.

As part of these bundle improvements, and to help thank those among you made purchases early on during Heroes of the Storm development, we’re going to grant gold to any players who may have purchased the same item more than once by buying a bundle that contained items they already owned.

What’s more, as part of our upcoming changes for Ranked Play, we’ll also be granting Gold to any players who created named Team League teams.

We’ll begin granting Gold to players who made duplicate purchases via bundles, or created named Team League teams, in a few days. If you’re among these players, be sure to watch out for an email from us at the address associated with your Battle.net account. You can also keep an eye on the official Heroes forums to find out when we’ve begun to send out Gold.

We felt that it’s time to refresh some of our current bundle lineup in the Heroes Shop alongside the arrival of Dynamic Bundles. The Nexus Bundle in particular has been around for quite a while, and we’re planning to replace it with the new Storm Bundle.

This bundle swap means that the Nazeebra Mount, which is exclusive to the Nexus Bundle, will also be removed from the Shop. However, we’re going to keep the Nexus Bundle available as a Dynamic Bundle for one week following patch day so that those of you who have been eyeing the Nazeebra Mount can still obtain it during this time.

  • Anub'arak
  • Falstad
  • Gazlowe
  • Nazeebo
  • Nova
  • Sonya
  • Tassadar
  • Tyrande
  • Storm Lord Falstad Skin
  • Grimskull Nazeebo Skin
  • Roller Derby Nova Skin
  • Wrath Sonya Skin
  • Cyberwolf Mount
  • Rainbow Unicorn Mount

With the arrival of our next patch, we’re also going to add two brand new hero-only Dynamic Bundles. Check out the upcoming Conquest and Domination Bundles below!

  • Arthas
  • Jaina
  • Rehgar
  • Sonya
  • Zagara
  • Chen
  • Diablo
  • Gazlowe
  • Kerrigan
  • Uther

If you’re looking for more news from the Nexus you’re in luck, because we just announced a slew of new Heroes, a new Diablo-themed Battleground, as well as big changes for Ranked Play, at gamescom 2015. Our next major game update is just around the corner, so keep your eyes locked on the official Heroes sitefor more announcements about the impending patch.

Thoughts on this new bundling system? See any potential new bundles you might take advantage of?

Blizzard has fixed the issue related to placement matchmaking ratings. All players have had their placement matches reset and Performance Based Matchmaking has been turned off until further notice.
      Blizzard (Source)
      Hey everyone,

As mentioned in earlier forum posts regarding Matchmaking Ratings here and the follow up here, we have been working hard on a fix to address the issue affecting placement matchmaking ratings. After further investigation, we identified the root cause and have deployed a fix. We apologize to everyone who has been impacted by the rough start to the new ranked season.

Once the hotfix is live in your region, we will re-enable matchmaking for Hero League and Team League. And although the issues we encountered were unrelated to the Performance Based Matchmaking improvements, we are reinstating Ranked mode with the Performance Based Matchmaking updates turned off. We want to make sure we’ve resolved all of the issues and that the ranked season placements are in a good place before we reinstate any new features. We understand many of you are very excited about the Performance Based Matchmaking changes and we’ll update everyone once we’re ready to turn them back on again.

Additionally, to ensure the accuracy and fairness of this ranked season, we have decided to completely restart this season. That means all accounts, regardless of whether they were affected by this issue, will be reset. We understand that this is very frustrating, particularly for those who have already redone their placement matches. Once again, we sincerely apologize to our passionate and dedicated players who have been impacted by this unfortunate issue. Thank you again for your patience as we work to make things right. Ranked queues were temporarily disabled yesterday.

      Hi everyone,

As many of you may be aware after reading a forum post we made earlier this week, we’ve been working to resolve an issue affecting placement Matchmaking Ratings (MMR) following the Ranked Season Roll on Tuesday. After investigating the issue, we rolled out a fix that we believed would resolve it, and also reset the affected players’ placement matches.

However, it’s evident that there is still unexpected behavior from placement MMR and we have been receiving reports that players are still being placed inaccurately. These placement issues are unrelated to the performance-based matchmaking update and we are working hard to determine the root cause and resolve this situation as soon as we possibly can. We sincerely apologize for the frustrations this has caused for those of you who’ve already embarked on your Hero and Team League journey this season.

While we are working toward that fix, we also want to prevent as many players as possible from being placed incorrectly. As a result, we have disabled ranked matchmaking queues in all regions until we are confident we can solve the issue.

We understand that disabling the ranked queues is less than ideal, and want more than anything to get you back in the action as soon as possible. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with the best matchmaking experience we can, so we thank you very much for your continued patience as we work to ensure ranked play provides a fun and fair experience for everyone.

Until that time, feel free to jump into one of our other game modes, including Quick Match and Unranked Draft. We will keep you updated as we make progress on a fix for ranked play. Game Director Alan Dabiri took full responsibility for the issue. The latest update was massive and this bug persisted even after all internal and extended PTR testing.

      Hi guys,

I just want to apologize to all of you regarding the Ranked mode issues we caused with this release. This was a massive update that included many changes across many areas of the game. We had a lot of internal testing and an extended PTR, but we still fell short here. There’s really no excuse. We need to do better, and I take full responsibility for this. The team is hard at work on fixing the issues, and once we have a fix deployed, we will re-enable the ranked game mode as soon as possible.

I just want to thank you all for your feedback, passion, and most of all, patience as we work to make things right.

The Boss camp drops a total of 15 Doubloons. While chests are active, Blackheart fires one cannonball every 2 seconds in an area immediately around the chest.
