In addition to the upcoming changes with Lt. Morales from the PTR (see PTR notes here), Blizzard is now considering increasing early game death timers and flattening per-level stat gains in the earliest parts of each game. They are being tested for potential inclusion in a future patch, and you can experience them on the current PTR (and will remain there when the Lt. Morales launch occurs).

Take a look at the proposed changes:

Blizzard Icon Test Map: Fine Tuning Heroes

As we continue to evolve Heroes of the Storm and sharpen its gameplay, we’ll run into scenarios where we think adjustments might be needed to make the overall playability of Heroes a stronger experience for all. As such, we’ve identified some potential areas of the game that can be tuned to help matches feel more even, clean up potential snowballing, and make individual players feel a bit stronger with their decision making. The changes are now available on the PTR, and will continue to be available to play in the Heroes of the Storm client on October 6th, 2015 for a limited time. Let’s dive into exactly what you can expect from this updated version of Heroes of the Storm.

DEATH TIMERS

We’ve identified that there may be a difficulty in achieving objectives in the early game due to our death timers and how quickly players can get back into a fight. To help setup teams and players to make important strides in the games, while also increasing the importance of not dying in the early game, we’ve adjusted death timers for the first 10 levels. You can see the changes below:

DEATH TIMER CHANGES

ZQAOGOU8GDUA1443569173681.jpg

As you can see above, the death timers heading into the mid to late game will mostly go unchanged. We believe these changes will set up players to take advantage of secured takedowns early with possible aggressive play on objectives, towers, or minion waves. Overall, this will allow players more choices on how they handle takedowns of their opponents while being able to progress the match in a quicker manner.

SNOWBALL PREVENTION

At the same time, we have seen, in many games, that an early level lead can create a snow-ball situation that could be difficult to comeback from.  In the current version of Heroes, game levels 1-14 had a very large stat difference from one level to the next.  We identified later levels had less of a stat difference and power levels are more noticeable with talent picks instead of level gains.  In an attempt to mirror the late game, we are flattening out the earlier levels to be more in line with how Heroes operates towards the late game.  As an example, the difference between levels 17 and 19 is now very similar to the difference between level 7 and 9, when analyzing pure stats within the heroes themselves.  This change means that even if you have lost mercenaries, tributes or towns, you can still afford to try to team fight early in the game when you and your team find yourself behind.  This does not, of course, change the danger of team fighting if you are behind by a talent level, which can be considered to still be very dangerous.

Alongside the overall stat changes, we’ve taken the additional stats you’d earn from leveling and directly ingrained the numbers straight into the heroes themselves. These changes will go a long way in helping heroes feel more appropriate in the roles they were designed for.  Assassins, for example, output much more damage but are easier to pick off with their low health pools.

HELP US TEST

The updates mentioned above will need to be tested thoroughly; this is where you come in. A test map will be available with the PTR immediately and in the regular Heroes client for a limited time, under the Custom Games section,  on October 6th, 2015, allowing players wishing to provide feedback to do so. Games played will also help our data analysts fine-tune any numbers we may need to make before going live with these changes in the future.

While there will be inevitable bugs with providing access to the upcoming Test Map in its early infancy, ultimately we are seeking feedback on how the game progression feels with the changes to death timers and Hero Scaling throughout the match. We aim to address a majority of the bugs when we approach a more defined version of the Test Map.

We’re excited to hear your thoughts on these alterations. As a reminder, The Test Map is available on PTR now, and will also be available to play on October 6th, 2015 for a limited time. Please give the new changes a whirl and let us know what you think in the coming days.

The respawn timer changes look excellent - hopefully we'll see data on the early game stat changes shortly. Let us know what you think!

UPDATE: Blizzard has confirmed these changes will not occur prior to BlizzCon:

Kel'thuzad, Archlich of Naxxramas was revealed as the next Hero to enter the Nexus.
Check out the latest Gamescom 2017 Hero reveal in our Kel'thuzad preview.
It started with Hero leaks from reddit, where a user wrote that Kel'thuzad would be coming soon and he was right! Blizzard started releasing various Naxxramas teasers that culminated in the Hero reveal. The animated trailer titled "Obey the Call" mentions "Call of Kel'thuzad". If that's the name of a Warcraft Event, we'll get new skins, bundles - and hopefully - a Warcraft-themed map. Kel'thuzad is a Hero from the Warcraft Universe and in Heroes of the Storm, he will be fulfilling the role of an Assassin.
All shall feel the touch of despair as the darkest secrets of the Nexus are revealed... Drawn to the immeasurable power found within the Nexus, Kel’thuzad, Archlich of Naxxramas, has turned several of the noblest Heroes against their allies, and he will not stop until all become minions of the cold dark! (Source)
According to the german fansite Buffed.de, the developers plan to release Kel'thuzad Spotlight this Wednesday (August 23) at 6:00 p.m. CET. Share your thoughts in the comments and don't forget to check the ongoing discussion on reddit.
      Kel'thuzad, Archlich of Naxxramas
Kel'Thuzad has faithfully served the Lich King both in life and after death. Reanimated as the Archlich of the Scourge and given domain of the Dread Necropolis, Naxxramas, Kel’Thuzad remains Arthas’s most trusted advisor and master of the cold dark.

      Star Lich Kel'thuzad

Blizzard issued a new round of account suspensions for non-participation - that's going AFK, intentionally dying and refusing to help the team.
Such behavior is all but helpful and players that ruin gameplay experience for everybody will not remain unpunished.
      Blizzard (Source)
We’ve issued a new round of account suspensions and bans for players who regularly go AFK, refuse to participate, or intentionally and repeatedly die during their Heroes of the Storm matches.

These actions were targeted at players whose in-game performance data, combined with high report volume, clearly shows a consistent lack of contribution to the majority of their matches. In this way, we’re able to take regular and confident action against those who are intentionally harming the in-game experience for others.

Going AFK, refusing to participate, and intentionally dying are behaviors that ruin the experience for everyone else in a match and undermine the spirit of competition that’s essential to Heroes of the Storm. Taking part in these actions will not be tolerated, and we will continue to suspend and ban players who do. We’d like to thank those of you who use the relevant in-game reporting options when you spot these negative behaviors in your matches, and encourage you to continue doing so.

Gamescom 2017 approaches and Blizzard started teasing what could be the quarters of Naxxramas.
Redditor Caprificus wrote that the teasers are representing the Arachnid and Military Quarters of Naxxramas. According to the most recent Hero leaks, we're expecting Kel'thuzad to be unveiled soon.

      Naxxramas in World of Warcraft
Naxxramas was the last 40-player raid added to the game in Patch 1.11 and Kel'thuzad was the final boss.
Players were able to obtain Tier 3 sets that can now be bought only on the Black Market Auction House and the legendary weapon - Atiesh, that's currently wielded by Khadgar. There were multiple variations of the caster weapon:
Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian (Druid) Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian (Mage) Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian (Priest) Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian (Warlock) The raid was removed in Patch 3.0.2 (Source) and in Wrath of the Lich King it was moved to Northrend and reintroduced as a 10/25-player entry-level raid. (Source)
Tier 7 sets were heavily inspired by the original Tier 3 sets.
