CHAPTER 1: Once Upon a Time, There Was Saruski
The Root of Absence (2012-2013)
The genesis of Saruski (Andrea in real life), the future legend of World of Warcraft Free-to-Play (WoW F2P), is rooted in deep sorrow. Between 2012 and 2013, Andrea suffered the devastating loss of her childhood friend, Sara, who tragically died in an accident. Unable to process the grief amidst painful memories, Andrea made the radical decision to move to England alone, seeking a refuge for her emotional wound in geographical isolation.
In that self-imposed solitude, her younger brother suggested she try World of Warcraft as a way to "escape her problems."
The Labyrinth and the Digital Sanctuary.
Andrea's initiation was complex. Seeking to play without paying, she stumbled upon a temporary version preceding the Starter Edition which only allowed her to play for 10 days free before the account expired. Astonishingly, for nearly a year (2012), Andrea was trapped in this unsustainable cycle, constantly creating and losing her progress due to her desperate need to maintain the distraction.
It wasn't until 2013 that she discovered the permanent Starter Edition (capped at Level 20). This discovery transformed her temporary distraction into a stable commitment.
To finalize her account, Andrea made foundational decisions: she created an Alliance Worgen Hunter with an appearance designed to resemble her friend Sara in human form, and adopted her friend's affectionate nickname: Saruski. WoW F2P became a personal sanctuary for perpetual union with her friend.
The Hunter's Lineage: Bikko and Ethics.
The choice of the Hunter class was inspired by her mentor, Bikko, a highly respected Pandaren Hunter in the European F2P scene (2012-2014).
Saruski was drawn to Bikko’s technical skill and, above all, his exemplary character—his kindness, generosity, and integrity—values she had not yet experienced in virtual interaction. Bikko gave her the advanced tricks and basic concepts, but made it clear he was only "the cane that helped her walk better." Saruski's ambition became twofold: to be a pioneer elite and, simultaneously, to be a kind, heroic figure, the ultimate tribute to Sara and Bikko.
CHAPTER 2: The Forging of Temperament, Potential, Conflict, and the Bikko Method.
Bikko immediately saw Saruski’s immense potential, but training was arduous. Her focus manifested as impulsiveness and nervousness; she was too direct and didn't think things through, unable to grasp the structured, mechanical logic of the game. Bikko's challenge was to teach mechanical patience to a player driven by emotional urgency. His method was subtle: he gave her the tools but forced her to embrace the self-reliant nature of the Hunter so that true strength would be forged in the solitude of her own mistakes.
The Digital Purge and the Legend's Rebirth.
After about a year, Bikko decided to retire without warning, disappearing to force Saruski’s independence. This silent departure caused a fresh emotional breakdown. The rage and frustration led her to stop playing for a few months, and in an act of desperation, she deleted her character and all her WoW progress.
But it was in the silence of those months that true maturity took hold. Saruski finally assimilated Bikko's lesson: strength must be self-sustaining. In 2014, she returned. The Hunter, now forged by resilience, created a new character, same name, same class. As a first strategic objective, she exiled herself to an English server and realm. This served as linguistic immersion and a true clean slate where no one knew her, testing her autonomy.
CHAPTER 3: The Master's Method: Discipline and Purpose, The Focus on Perfection and Visibility.
Saruski's method in 2014 was simultaneous and obsessive. She proved her worth in both PvP (Battlegrounds for notoriety) and PvE (obsessive dungeon farming for discipline).
Her visibility was accelerated by submitting clips to the international channel WoW Starter Edition F2P. Though this channel's subsequent forced closure led to the loss of most of her early videos, this setback taught her media autonomy, leading Saruski to create her own YouTube channel to take full control of her legacy.
Initial Recognition: The Cachet of Veteran Status.
Saruski's first major tangible achievement was not a trophy or gear piece, but the recognition of her commitment and her Cachet of Veteran Status. Her consistent dedication, despite her difficult beginnings, placed her among the most respected players. She earned a name as a player "who is here to stay." This initial respect was the foundation of her influence.
Closing the Foundational Chapter.
With veteran status secured and the pain channeled, Saruski had fulfilled the promise made to her mentor. She was now using her growing visibility to cement a reputation as a kind, respected, heroic figure.
The sad story had given way to an unbreakable commitment. Saruski was ready for the narrative leap toward her prime: the migration to the Horde, the founding of her international community, and the milestones that would make her the greatest legend ever seen in WoW F2P.
But that is another story, which we will get to on another occasion.

I usually sim my characters to get the best possible results. I enjoy the process quite a lot and since I reached 120, I wanted to find out the best build of the spec. (Note, I didn't want to find out what to play, but rather how my own build fares in comarison.) I rarely mind a 1-2% difference. If it goes above 2%, I really mind a change. What this thread is about is mainly to bring something in the attention of those who help making the class guides, especially the talent choices. To my surprise, I was awed to find out that certain talents outperform previous "Standard" choices in the endgame, probably due to the stat squish.
The Frost go-to build (top dps) would probably be along the lines of <Icy Talons / Cold Heart - Runic Attenuation - Frozen Pulse - Gathering Storm - Breath of Sindragosa>. What I found out primarily was that after the removal of legendaries, Cold Heart severely underperforms at most given situations resulting in a major dps drop due to the low mastery. Gathering Storm also suffers from the same problem and most of the times, Frostwyrm's Fury is better overall. The biggest surprise of them all, however, was that Inexorable Assault overperforms quite a lot, and is the first reason why I made the topic. I then started simming with the above in mind and I came across a build that some would not consider on par with top dog builds around the meta, which is the use of Horn of Winter which overperforms both its other two options when using the Breath build. Talent Sim can be seen here. Another intresting thing, which I loved, was that the 2nd best build uses Obliteration as a lvl 100 talent and no other build surpassed it (Other than the first one, obviously). So, I encourage frost players out there to give their other, less common talents a try. To the class guide author(s), I believe that the two "underdog" talents will earn their spot in the class guides.
Thank you for your time reading this.

Hey community!
I've been looking to level a new class but I'm not quite sure what to level. I currently have a monk, fury warrior, and Demon Hunter. I'm looking for a class that has little to no downtime and a decent amount of survivablity, mobility, as well as an even amount of single target and multiple target damage abilities. Don't really mind if its a hybrid class because i dont might healing every once in a while.
Thanks for your help!
