With the announcement of Overwatch's release date, the talks about Tracer being the next Hero to join the Nexus have rekindled.

Now, we know some additional information on Tracer, thanks to Reddit user camclemons. Camclemons bought the latest digital issue of Game Informer, which features an article on Tracer and he shared it with the rest of us.

It looks like Tracer will join the cast of Heroes of the Storm this April. Usually, a new Hero comes out every three weeks, so there might be someone else joining the Nexus before Tracer. However, given that there hasn't been a tease for any other Hero, it looks like we will have to wait a bit longer until April, when we'll get Tracer.

She is a ranged assassin and she will have quite a few unique mechanics. One of them is that she can attack while moving. Moreover, instead of mana Tracer uses a reload mechanic; a hero with a quite similar design was introduced recently in League of Legends. Tracer will get her signature pulse-bomb attack as an ultimate ability. She can start using it from level one and she can refine it with talents.

Tracer is the first hero from the Overwatch universe and her abilities are quite similar to her Overwatch counterpart. She will therefore have a fast-firing and extremely mobile playstyle and abilities like the triple blink, a time recall that ports her three seconds in the past and a melee attack. Her talents allow a variety of builds and playstyles: she can be built as a glass cannon, persistent poker or CC specialist. Lastly, you can also focus on making her melee attack more devastating or in things like leeching rounds.

You can follow the relevant discussion on Reddit here, where there's an image of the Game Informer article, too.

I love Overwatch characters,

Melee talent build with tracer, going behind the enemy nova and shouting "what you lookin at?" is thrilling :D

Stan and Oxy pointed out to me the fact that Tracer might be a promotional Hero, just like Diablo and Artanis. Meaning you buy Overwatch, you get Tracer for free. If that's the case, she might be underpowered like them.

I hope she doesn't end up like Nova, Underpowered can be fixed, but heroes like Nova, nerfed back in Alpha (which was obvious, the hero was broken back then) and never came back to the top, no matter how they try, Nova is still a bad pick.

Iconic characters like Nova, Illidan, or Tracer which are very popular shouldn't be this underpowered.
