Mistweaver Monk spell usage and comparisons

Recommended Posts

Note: This is not just for me. This thread if for anyone wanting to evaluate their playstyle and compare to other monks, or just to ask what they might be doing wrong.

I want make this thread to try to get a consensus of how people play. Mainly I want this to have logs of people playing mistweaver (be it their own or someone elses) and compare the spell usage to see who is doing what, why, and better.

Providing links to armorys will also be beneficial to show gear differences.

Here is an example, I will be comparing myself to Madmonk.

http://raidbots.com/...1000425#healing

Total Chi gain throughout the fight

Me: 232

MadMonk: 223

But since 27 of my Chi came from Jab (meaning I did some fistweaving then most of that chi i generated went into BoK and TP. I tiger plamed 21 times, + 5 BoK which equals 31 chi used on fistweaving out of my 232.

So effectively I only gained 201 chi for uplift healing purposes.

The biggest difference between our healing is renewing mists, uplift and chi gains. Mad monk casted 3 more ReM's then me so we are both playing similarly

Thunder Focus Tea Usage:

Me: 11

MadMonk: 8

So here, I am using this spell more often, but he might be making better use of it then me seeing as his ReM healing is so much higher.

Comparing our stats

Now first thing I notice is he has more intellect and more haste then me, but less crit. Spirit is roughly the same.

My question to him is, Why do you use so much haste? Are you reaching a 3rd ReM breakpoint?

His high haste could be a small part to his High ReM healing coupled with the 2k more intellect. Another big difference just could be play styles. He may just play his character better then I do.

Last note: Gear Difference

I do indeed get an extra tick from ReM which is why I do more healing with it. I really wanted to get to the new cap as it will work wonders with our set bonuses (currently on 3 pieces).

One of the reasons why I'm doing more healing is that I have slightly better gear, especially my 528 weapon adds a lot of spellpower.

Nice comparisons, I'm looking forward for more.

P.S. I don't really remember why my TFT usage is low, I may have lined it up with abilities, but on most fights I try to use it on cooldown.

What is the breakpoint after 6141. I may try it. But I'm doing well right w with 7k crit rating..

And I did pick up the same weapon you have (thunderforged too) last night. Along with pants from Primordius and Ring from Durumu.

I have found different reports and most claim it is 9145 but when I had that much i didn't get the extra tick, there was one report that said 9146 and after trying that it worked.

Unfortunately I cannot compare this weeks logs effectively because my raid did WAY better over all on the fight then normal, so the damage for the entire fight was very minimal. Our healers made a competition out of it to see who got the most healing and there was 4 of us neck and neck to each other just barley getting healing numbers out of it.

So technically, according to logs, I did worst this week then last week, but that does not take into account raid awareness, which in this case was very high, therefore less healing was needed. Which is one problem I overlook many times when comparing logs.

http://www.worldoflo.../?s=7380&e=7966

There are the logs for it nonetheless if someone wanted to look at it.

looking closely my ReM had a 54% over heal, while Uplift had a 60% over heal. We were squeezing those numbers pretty tight. I even used my chi burst so badly with a 70% over heal..

Then take into account we killed it 30 seconds quicker makes it even worse for comparisons. At least my raid did a superb job at the fight, which I am glad for.

<Fun is for Casuals> is a serious but casual horde guild on US-Hyjal. We are serious about raiding without the intense hours. Even when recruitment status is none, we will accept exceptional applications for all classes. For a full list of what we're looking for check out https://funisforcasuals.enjin.com .
Our raid times are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM server (PST) with raid invitations sent out a few minutes prior to that.

We're interested in you if you fit the following criteria:
Raid attendance is essential. We don't want people sitting on the bench but we also want to make sure we're raiding 6 hours per week. We expect you to be available for at least 90% of our raids. Be on time and prepared for raids. This includes flasks and other consumables. Discord is mandatory and a working mic is desired. You're appropriately geared for our current content. Effort and thought have been put into your gear/gem/enchant choices. You wouldn't show up for a job interview looking like a scrub, why would you apply to a guild with improper gems or some insane spec? You're up to date with your class. We expect our raiders to perform to the best of their abilities. You have a computer that's not run with hamster power or requires a hand crank. Some encounters are taxing on a computer's resources so if your toon can't even handle Orgrimmar it's not likely to do well with 20+ whelps that need AOE'ing.
You may be interested in us because:
<Fun is for Casuals> uses the personal loot system. There is no loot council, or DKP. We won't eat your babies the first time you stand in something you have no business being in. Repeatedly do it and we'll break out the bibs and BBQ sauce. We provide a limited amount of consumables and flasks on hard mode raid nights. Discord isn't a circus during raids. We're focused on the job at hand and you should be too. We don't want someone to miss a an interrupt because they were distracted by fart jokes. We are not interested in you if you fit the following criteria:
You roll on BoE items then sell them. Unwilling/unable to spend an entire evening on one boss during progression. While this is rare, it can happen. Drama queens. If you have a problem bring it up to E. This is his job. Don't announce it in guild chat or during a raid. Your issue will have nothing to do with 99% of the guild. You are 17 or younger. We try to keep guild and discord chat PG-13 but occasionally a few four letter words appear out of nowhere. Additionally, we don't want someone's mom interrupting their raiding to get homework or the dishes done. Follow the instructions at https://funisforcasuals.enjin.com/ under the Recruitment tab if you would like to apply.
If you have any question, feel free to contact E. at DbD#1309
