Blizzard has released the two Portraits that will be rewarded to people who watch on Twitch the Summer Championships, as well as the dates and times of the Regionals. There was also a minor hotfix yesterday.

Here are the two new Portraits: the Regional Event Portrait and the Summer Championship Portrait.

There was also a small hotfix yesterday. It fixed a huge issue with login button appearing as disabled, as well as a bug with Tychus' Grenade that made him too OP. Needless to say, Tychus' fans were disappointed.

Blizzard Icon Trikslyr

We just released a new hotfix for Heroes of the Storm in order to apply the bug fixes listed below. We also recently released a new patch that introduced several improvements for the game, and you can click here to check out those patch notes.

Bug Fixes

  • General
    • Fixed an issue that could cause the Login button to appear disabled on the Heroes of the Storm login screen despite entering proper account credentials.
  • Heroes and Talents
    • Fixed an issue that caused Tychus’ Grenade to deal more damage than intended.

There are still major bugs in live servers at the moment. For example, Tyrande's talent Celestial Wrath increases the cooldown of Starfall from 80 to 100 seconds its mana cost from 75 to 100. It wasn't hotfixed yesterday.

Blizzard Icon Spyrian

This is on our radar for sure. The Tychus bug and login issue were a little more pressing, though, and we didn't want to wait on today's patch in order to try and squeeze in a fix for Celestial Wrath.

There is also an issue with mounting: you currently cannot mount up while moving; instead, you have to stop and press Z.

Blizzard Icon BlizzCooper

This was an unintentional change and we're looking into a fix.

Lastly, some people reported issues with matchmaking in Hero League, ever since the new patch landed. It looks like with the release of Lena Oxton (aka Tracer) a lot of people are trying out this new Hero in Quick Match and thus Hero League match pool has been reduced.

Blizzard Icon KaeoMilker

Hi, Heroes! Just wanted to let you know that we've seen your reports here (and elsewhere) and are looking into them, though please note that we haven't made any changes to Hero League matchmaking in this time frame. More info when I have it.

EDIT: Our analysis indicates that most of these swings in match quality are being caused by the introduction of Lena Oxton to the Nexus, which has caused an exceptionally high number of players to switch from Hero League to Quick Match to get their Blink on, meaningfully reducing the HL match pool at times. We've been watching the impact of new heroes really closely and will be looking for opportunities to mitigate their effect on match quality, where possible.

There were also a few examples of matches called out that we see as problematic due to other factors that we're working to further optimize in the matchmaker. As always, we'll continue to monitor things as the new hero effect subsides and beyond, but please continue to report your matchmaking experiences along the way.

On behalf of the ever-vigilant Heroes matchmaking team - thank you for your feedback!
