Bastion Appreciation Thread

We're all friends here, so let's be honest and open up.

Bastion is everyone's favourite hero in the game.

There are times when we enjoy playing against him so much that we really feel like we need to tell someone just how much we love him. In order to avoid multiple threads discussing the love of the community for Bastion, I felt it would be useful to open up a single thread for it.

Please note, although I understand that your love for Bastion is so great that you might want to use some profanity, all posts are still monitored under the general posting rules of the forums.

I'll start us off!

I love Bastion so much, I wish I could give him a never-ending hug with a car crusher. :)

Bastion is awesome, I'm still pondering over the loss of the shield and the gain of the 360 degree rotation. Will try to post some Play of the Game tonight :p

Bastion is actually pretty fun to play as players get better in my opinion.

Where as at the beginning, holding LMB and being static can reward players; the best bastions as the game grows will be moving all the time, jumping off ledges while shifting to land in configuration mode, etc.

Also knowing how to use Tank Mode can literally change games. Plenty of pro games show casing its power, but its terrified enough people I am sure.

Lastly, Bastion can rocket jump in tank, its actually really fun to do that over walls and fall on top unsuspecting players. :D

Normally my team just run into the point one by one, as Bastion mows them all down.

Jeff Kaplan did say it takes about month for Offense to start winning more often in the mid reaches of skill, and few weeks for the rage to die down about Bastion and Torb. (Mind you you said this before stress 1? definitely before stress test 2). 

 

But the truth.. Never :( Still happens in my games. Run into some pretty annoying stacks of good players with torb stacking for fun. Oh boy is fun a relative term :P

Bastion has just a little bit too much health for my taste. If they knocked off just like 20-30 health I think he'd be a perfectly fine and balanced hero.

That being said I love him most on escort the payload missions (attacking). Sit him on top of the car, go into turrent mode, profit. Pair him say with Reinhardt to help protect him and you have a beautiful lawn mower of butthurt.

Only a Reinhardt? Why stop there?

Let's have a Mercy buffing Bastion and a Torbjörn turret too! Maybe a Widowmaker in the back to pick off any Pharah ultimates that might be coming in?

Torbjorn is actually my favorite for escort for that reason XD Love building my turrent on the escort vehicle. Or even building it in an up high place overlooking the road. The enemy team is usually so focused on the people rushing the vehicle they aren't looking around for turrents.

Actually I'm going to go make a Torbjorn appreciation thread.
