Deck "Secrets Paladin and variants" being a cancer on the ladder

7 posts in this topic

Hello.

I am absolutely being wrecked on the ladders by the Secrets Paladin decks. I am playing variants of legendary shaman cont, tempo mage and several paladin decks.

My guess is using the "eater of secrets"  card. but I don't seem to have a good idea how to put it in a deck.

the secrets are not that hard to foresee, but I lose my board control or hand and don't have the time to regain any position before its to late.

any advice for me? or links to existing decks would be appreciated.

 Thanks!

DS.

I used to play Secret Paladin a lot and the most annoying matchups were Aggro decks like Hunter, because they'd often kill me before turn 6.

For me weapons work! Just attack the mysterious challenger, get down the noble sacrifice, proc the redemption and the Avenge and you only have a 2-1 defender and a buffed mysterious challenger, if there are no other minions in play. Hex afterwards does the job perfectly :)

Problems with Secret Paladin in 2016? Oh boy, where have you been all that time?

That deck is easy to beat. Just play something that's doesn't durdle around. Sealing early pressure is the key. Zoo, Aggro Shaman and Patron Warrior are solid choices - 'been pretty much pushing Paladin away in the last seasons of that format, even without Eater of Secrets.

If you wish to control the game or outvalue them, try a deck that you've put answers in and card draw to line them up reliably. It's not a great idea though because all your removal has to be pretty much on point all the time and it still may be not enough because Paladin has good value and Divine Favor.

Or play Standard. I've heard there is no good Secret Paladin there.

hehe. I've been taking a brake for about a little over half a year. just been playing again for about a week. just got the cards from LEO and been climbing the wild ladder. Sec pally was to be honest kind of new to me. but some good advice here, ill grind up some mote knowledge and build a deck to stand against the current meta.

You could also play Freeze Mage.

I play it on Wild since with the current Warrior Rampage in Standard playing Freeze Mage there is little fun, and I am always happy to be paired against Paladin. It is no auto win by any means, but I would say around 60% in Freeze Mage's favor.

I'm not entirely sure what I am doing wrong that is getting me this result, but I am getting about a 30k dps difference on training dummy when I use a defile, clawing shadows, shadow infusion build than when I use the recommended talents. I left the rest of my talents unchanged and I have yet to see where the dps difference is coming from (arbiter or clawing shadows), but I'm very confused as to how this could happen. I felt like I had a harder time keeping my disease up and using coldheart on cooldown (or rather whenever at max stacks) with the arbiter build. Am I missing some key thing or do I just need to git gud? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm sure this is a popular topic so I apologize if this is the 1 millionth time you've seen this.
I haven't played a level capped character since probably Wrath of the Lich King.  Friends are sucking me back in and I'm thinking about picking up Warrior.  I used to love tanking as a warrior but unfortunately (or fortunately) it looks like all the tank slots are filled.  Basically my question is, is rolling Warrior a wise choice?  Are they fun to play?  Pretty sure id pick Fury as my DPS spec but I don't know how it or arms plays now. I want to be competitive on the meters against my guildmates but I don't think we're going to be super hardcore.
I suppose this is "living the dream" but i want to be near the top of the DPS charts while having fun doing it. Is the warrior for me? Other classes I was looking at were Shadow Priest, Hunter, or Death Knight.
I guess I should also mention that I haven't played in a LONG time so ill probably be doing things like world pvp, BGs, 5-mans, ect.  I'm not an Arena type of person.

      Hello!

I was recently asked to start playing enhance for my guild. So nothing else to do than grabbing the good ol' hammers and start swinging. I've read the guides here on IV, watched a few videos on Youtube and been on and off on the enhance discord.  I thought I got the hang of it, felt pretty comfortabel doing a few bosses but when I skimmed through  our loggs from a few of the bosses I noticed that my preformance is more or less  garbage.
I decided to test my luck here. I was hoping that someone could analyze my loggs and give me a few pointers on what and what not to do.
I would also appreciate  a few tips and trix about how to start analyzing my preformance myself so I dont have to turn back here as soon as the RNG gods are not with me.
Here is the log I was refering to:

      And here is my armoy:

In advance I apologize for any misspelling and other nonsense that might confuse you. I should point out that English is not my main language.
If you need any other basic information in order to help me just give me a shout and I will comply.

      Thanks!

Hi, i have just tried out some Antorus bosses in mythic and i saw, that my logs are so....
In heroic difficulty my logs are better. So I have no idea, what am I doing wrong there... As I am doing the same thing, only with a bit more tactics...
Can anybody give some tips, on this matter?
