A new clue went out yesterday that sparked a huge influx of new clues and possible information about Sombra! Take a look at our summary of everything that has happened so far and what might be due to happen.

The first clue that went up was a thread on the General Discussion forums of Overwatch. The thread was titled "0110010 00110011", which translates to the number 23. In the thread, a user by the name of Skycoder had made a post, but it was actually just a hoax. The page starts to break apart and a code starts appearing on the screen. 

Judging by the use of the name Skycoder, which relates to past information about Sombra, it was assumed that the page had been hacked by Sombra and that the code was for us to play with.

The code was recognised as being a Based64 code and it was broken down and converted into a skull. There was already a skull in play from a previous clue, so the hunters now had two skulls to play with. 

This then led to a number of new discoveries and steps over the course of a few hours. Here's what was found out last night:

  • If you compare the two skulls, see image here from Reddit, there are differences between the two.
    • This led to users managing to find a string that detailed the following: "LESPROMETIUNJUEGO...CREOQUEUSTEDESLOSDETECTIVESDEJUEGOSLOLLAMARIANUNTRAILHEAD?BLZGDAUSA-AMBAS-CALAVERAS.HTML" 
    • "I promised you a game. I believe you Games Detectives would call it a trailhead? BLZGDAUSA-AMBAS-CALAVERAS.HTML"
    • By using the string above, they managed to find the following page: https://blzgdapipro-a.akamaihd.net/media/screenshot/usa-ambas-calaveras.html
      • This page seems to be from Ana's hospital entry when she was shot by Widowmaker.
      • The name Janina Kowalska is the Polish equivalent of Jane Doe.
      • We can assume that Sombra is trying to leak the fact that Ana faked her death.
  • There was also text found: "Parecen estar muy interesados en estos "héroes". ¿Tal vez les interese conocer algunos detallitos que he averiguado sobre ellos?"
    • This translates to: "You seem to be very interested in those "heroes". ¿Maybe you might be interested into knowing some tiny details I found about them?"
  • The thread that was initially posted on the forums is actually counting down. It started at 21 hours and is now, at the time of writing, at 10 hours.
    • Could this be a countdown to Sombra's announcement?
    • Could this be how long we have to solve the clue before Sombra disappears?
  • Through the use of the skycoder, a user managed to get "momentincrime". 
    • This references an email address that was tweeted out by Blizzard in 2015, in which they talk about Roadhog/Junkrat's crime spree.
    • The users sent an email to the linked email and got the same automated response as in 2015, but with a slight twist, which sees Sombra hacking the response.

minals and bringing them to justice. These fugitives are responsible for a string of robberies, arson, and other crimes stretching from Sydney to King's Row.

Authorities believe that they have set their sights on crossing the Atlantic to America.

As time went on, the forum post from Sombra also started to change. It ended up displaying the following image:

At first, people thought that this was the exact image that Muselk had tweeted out as a challenge to Sombra.

It quickly turned out that the image was however slightly different, so people have been trying to compare the two images to find any useful information that could lead us to what she was trying to say in response to the challenge.

For now, we just have to wait for either another big discovery or for the countdown to drop to 0.

    This is seriously one of Blizzard's coolest ideas.  I love what they are doing and how they are involving the people in these clues and the hunt for Sombra.  Every time one of these things pops up its better than the last.  Thank you guys at icy-veins for covering it.  Without you I wouldn't be able to keep up on all of this!

    I'm just as hyped as all of you! Watching it unfold on the discord is truly amazing. That moment when someone actually finds something and everything gets all excited. It's great. Whoever it is that is behind this idea at Blizzard, this might actually be my favourite thing they've done.

    The way Blizzard is creating interest and suspense around Sombra is truely amazing.  I cannot wait for the climax of all of this hype!

        I know @Cablenerd already made a post for this but since he's currently not very active I'm (partly) taking over some of his recruiting.
         
        Our clan is called the Marauders and we are working heavily on our overwatch department. We are currently starting to form teams and will be having practice nights to work on general tactics/knowledge/skill in overwatch. Once a month we will hold an in-clan tourney between different teams in 6v6 as well as 3v3 and 1v1 situations.

        At least two new skins are coming, for Mei and D.Va and we get to see a sneak peek of them.
        The Year of the Rooster is coming to OW and Blizzard have started teasing it already, if you can call straight up announcing the release date a tease. We don't know much more about it other than it will feature at least two new skins for Mei and D.Va, but it seems likely it'll be on par with all the other events so far and have more than just that. If not, it could be the first of a new type of smaller-scale theme event that comes around more frequently (or only for very special occasions), which isn't a bad idea either.         The big Roadhog and D.Va changes on the PTR recently, as you'd expect caused a civilized, calm and measured discourse in the OW community, without any overreactions or hyperbole whatsoever. So mild was the reaction that Jeff Kaplan felt the need to restate the purpose of the PTR and that changes done there aren't necessarily the end of the world. Of Overwatch.
        The actual details go into other purposes of the PTR other than community feedback on changes, goals or Sombra, Roadhog's hook, how D.Va is doing "too much" right now, small Ana changes, why there isn't a PTR on consoles and more:

        This is great feedback, thanks.
        Keep in mind her spread didn't actually change, but her shots 'fill in' her spread more evenly now, meaning her damage per shot is generally more consistent. For example, in the video provided from the live game, if you take that same shot multiple times you'll see a greater diversity in damage results than you would on the PTR, because sometimes some of those bullets would just miss. Overall though, the change to her damage is intended to be a small nerf.
        As for her health/armor, the bottom line is shes intended to be weaker vs faster firing weapons (and shotguns), such as Reaper and Tracer. The game is a lot healthier when heroes have strengths and weaknesses versus other heroes. As she was, it was common to hear people ask 'What do I do about D.Va?'. People often would try to use Zarya or Roadhog, since they both have the potential to deal high damage and pierce her Matrix, but even those answers were marginal at best. Heroes like Reaper that are generally supposed to be good at taking down tanks weren't very effective because of all the armor they had to get through. With lowered armor, she now has more legitimate counters and she still counters many heroes and abilities in the game, especially considering her Defense Matrix wasn't touched.
        I understand that people feel like she may be too weak overall after these changes, and if that turns out to be the case we'll look at helping her out. That said, that help isn't likely to come back in the form of a bunch of armor, since that would just put us back the problems we had to begin with. We'll be watching her impact closely after these changes.

        The ongoing saga of Hook 2.0 continues on the PTR as Roadhog gets closer and closer to not violating the space-time continuum, getting less broken hooks and less problems with people peeking around corners being un-targetable. Ana got a duration buff to the previously nerfed Biotic Grenade and Sombra got a significant cooldown reduction on Hack as well.

        We're about to push a new build to the PTR with some new changes:
        Roadhog Hook
        - Added some more line of sight checks towards the left/right of a potential hook target. This means it should be easier to hook someone who is sticking halfway out of a doorway, or behind a thin pole, etc. These checks are also used for the persistent line of sight check, so if a hook target moves behind a slim object like a stump or a lightpole, they won't be released anymore.
        - Hooked targets are now slowed heavily while they are stunned, even if they are in the air. This means if someone is strafe jumping away from you and you land a hook, they are a lot less likely to slide out of line on sight, breaking the hook.
        - Fixed a bug that could allow you to hook someone and pull them behind you if you spun around before the hook landed.

        - Biotic Grenade duration reduced from 5s to 4s
        Sombra
        - Hack cooldown reduced from 12s to 8s
