Opinions on still using hellfire tier?

Recommended Posts

Hi there, i was wondering. Is the 4 set bonus from hellfire citadel, for hunters, a viable option.

Yes its a massive stat loss and what not... BUUUT!! Instant aimed shots!!

Now i dont know whether this is just bad scaling or what.

I beat my mate, who is a pretty good mage, ilvl 830ish when i level 103.

Ive constantly been out dps'ing other memebers of the group from anything up to double the next guys damage.....

Might i add that aimed shot is one of our most powerful attacks. Atm i can hit 250k crit. Nothing extreme riiight.

BUT because of the 4 set from hellfire, i can spam it......

Just think about it :3

Making Aimed Shot instant doesn't actually give you a whole lot of damage.

With base GCD of 1.5 second and base Aimed Shot cast time of 2.0 seconds, you win just half a second of cast time.

On occasion, you will also be able to shoot an extra Aimed Shot into a Vulnerability buff window, but it's not that big of a benefit. We don't actually cast THAT many Aimed Shots nowadays, considering Marked Shot is a cheaper instant cast that does roughly the same damage and also applies Vulnerable, and there are even Lock and Load procs that also make Aimed Shots instant.

Finally, I'm not even sure the tier bonus will function on level 110.

And yeah tbh it was probably just poor scaling

Definatly going to test it when i hit max level tonight.

Let us know how it goes! I'm inclined to agree with the others though. It's really not worth it IMO.

Of course, but I didn't have the time to do it myself, unfortunately. Thanks for doing it yourself!

In this case, you don't even need to use simcraft, you just need some logical thinking.  Each piece you replace with a t18 item is going to be at least 100 ilvls higher than the t18 item (given 840 pre-raid Legion gear vs 735 2/2 Mythic t18 gear).  The best you could get away with is using 2 medium budget items (shoulders and gloves) and 2 high-budget items (choose from chest, legs, and head).  On each high budget item, that's 738 Agility and roughly 650 secondary stats lost, and you have 2 of these at best.  For Medium budget items: 553 Agility and roughly 500 Secondary stats lost.  That's compared to Mythic HFC tier pieces, which not many people have (relatively).  The differences are larger when compared to Heroic or Normal pieces.  The loss of stats alone is more than enough to warrant not using the old tier sets.  That's 2576 Agility and and roughly 2300 secondary stats lost, again, at best.

I imagine it is even worse given that your t18 set bonus is buffing something that is directly impacted by the amount of agility/stats you have. It would probably need to be a set bonus that is independent of your current stats, something along the lines of the old Fury bonus for Warriors (reducing the timer on a major offensive CD). Even then, it would most likely just be nerfed for 110.

Hey. I'm Justice, GM of <Indomitus> on Horde Draenor EU. <Indomitus> is a recently made guild born from the ambition and devotion of progression focused players. We have a strong core of players with Mythic backgrounds and we are eager to try for Cutting Edge in Shadowlands and so we formed <Indomitus> to have that Mythic progression focus. We're currently 10/10 HC and 6/10M and looking for more people to join us in Mythic Castle Nathria. Our current goal is to clear as many Mythic encounters as possible this tier whilst building a strong and stable roster for the next and future tiers so we can push progression early.
We’ve also recently begun a Friday evening Heroic/alt run and are happy to accept players looking for a more relaxed Heroic experience.
Additionally, we're also looking for fun players who focus on Mythic+ or even just socialising. As we're a relatively new guild now is the perfect time to join to help shape the future of the guild and become an integral part of it.
      [Raiding Schedule]:
      Mythic: Tuesday & Thursday 8pm - 11pm realm time
      Heroic/Alt Run: Friday 8pm - 11pm realm time
      [Recruitment]:

      • Unholy DK
      • Warlock
      [Requirements]:
      • We have a set of guild rules on our discord that cover the usual things you'd expect to see, e.g. no toxicity, hate speech or harassment, being a good team player and things like that.
      • We have a set of raiding rules on our discord that cover things like researching encounters, knowing your class and being proactive in improving, being reliable and punctual and having a microphone.

      Evening ladies and gentlemen

just a quick question about getting the Bigger is Better quest to upgrade the Garrison to level 2 on the alliance side.

I've set up a lot of characters for zones using chromie time and i've got all of them set up with garrisons for professions and other stuff.

all my horde characters had access to the level 2 garrison quest right away (with the exception of my orc death knight all of them were under level 20)

whereas the only new alliance character with a garrison is my night elf demon hunter who his level 23 (all the others are under 20)

I know that you can get the quest by doing part of the shadowmoon valley but only 1 of my characters is going into draenor and tha's a ways off being done. so i'm just curious if there's a level restriction on the quest

      Hello Everybody, we are recruiting!
Our group is one of friends, who push each other towards excellence in-game while maintaining a healthy sense of humor and a clear sense of direction. We have a low tolerance for drama and do our best to develop a positive in-game environment.
Rocket Surgeons core is composed of Mythic-minded raiders. Some of us have been playing together for years, and some of us are new friends. We have a solid foundation for our dream team – we’re searching for a few more to help round us out!
Currently, our main search is for Healers and ranged/melee DPS. Any interested applicants are also advised to reach out. As we move into the tail end of the expansion, we are looking to relax and build our roster for the upcoming (and hopefully exciting) changes in Shadowlands. BFA Raiding is taking a backseat for recruitment and team building. We normally maintain a 20-30-person roster for boss requirements and schedule changes accordingly.
We will also be working together to get everyone a decent key completed every week, and we will also open up for PVP. This includes mostly RBG’s and WPVP.
      Raiding days are as follows:
Beginning of expansion: 3 Days (Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday (CEST/GMT+2))
Later through the expansion: 2 Days (Wednesday and Sunday – 8PM till 11PM (CEST/GMT+2) )
      Requirements
Experience with mythic raiding is preferred. All players will be given a chance upon proof that backs-up their intentions.
      Attendance
We are looking for dedicated and ambitious players. Commitment to our raid times is a must. We’re interested in consistent players who are realistic and honest about their day-to-day schedule. Raiders and Trial Raiders are required to communicate any tardiness or absences via a Discord channel or through tells with an Officer. Schedules change, things come up and real-life always comes first. All we ask for is for a notification so planning can be done accordingly!
      Trial Period
A trial period will commence from the first raiding day you will participate in. Feedback will be given at the end of the trial; you are free to contact an officer to check on your progression whilst ongoing the trial period.
What you can expect from us:
      · Leadership
      · Effective communication and understandings.
      · Set goals to accomplish.
      · A place that you can chill.
      · Good attitude.
      · Honest and helpful feedback
If you would like to contact an officer, kindly feel free to do so. We expect you to help us maintain communication about and needs and concerns.
      What we expect from you:
      · A very good/healthy attendance.
      · Good communication skills.
      · Survivability and understanding of mechanics while excelling at your role. Many players struggle to do one - we are looking for both.
      · Ability to introspect regarding your play in order to be constantly improving.
Kindly reach out to us if you are interested, all communication will be done via Discord.
