Stabling pets

16 posts in this topic

Hi there,

Does anyone know whether on the beta there are any changes to the amount of stable spaces we are allowed to have? I am seriously starting to run out of slots and my list of pets I want to tame will no doubt will grow and the new expansion comes - I don't even have space for the ones I still want to tame now!

What are your thoughts on this if there are no changes for slots? I think I would be willing to pay gold for a few extra slots here and there. I understand that the limited amount of slots makes you pick which you want to tame and which to leave but it's beginning to become a tough decision!

I'm not really sure... however I find that there is plenty of slots personally... this is only because I tend to get attached to one pet or am too lazy to go and get another one.

At the moment I have 5; out of these I have one of the new shiny ones that I never use; a pvp pet; a silencing pet; my raiding pet and 'jimbob'. Sadly Jimbob gives me a slight dps loss in raids so I don't use him much now but we discovered he is pretty much unkillable. There was one raid where he was on chogall for a good 3 mins without dieing - rather dull for the rest of us staring at the roof because FD is better than running in. Just don't have the heart to shelf the guy...

Otherwise I'll probably bin my neather ray and get one MoP pet - but as I say I'm used to having the same one since the dawn of time and I wouldn't be too bothered about having a stable of pets that I never take out. It's cruelty to pixel animals!

I think I have 5 stable slots left :s

Don't hate me though, I do take them all out for a run occasionally - honest!! :P

I do have main pets for raiding and pvp but my problem has been that I love the BM spec pets - so shiny!! I think it would be a good idea to pay for extra slots you want maybe in the new expansion. I can't help myself with taming pets...that's not to say I tame any old pet but it's getting tricky deciding which ones to potentially let go if I can't expand my collection.

20 slots plus you can carry 5 in your pocket.

I don't have BM anymore but I do have a corehound I can't use in my stable. As much as I prefer the BM pets I don't enjoy playing the spec...

I'm a terrible girl Peelyon - I don't have any particularly cute pets and I don't collect enough of them. I should really get my act in gear! I miss the days of playing a surv mele hunter... haha.

I love all the pets :P Only joking, I'm a collector-whore (and a gold-whore, a loot-whore and achievement-whore! Lol)

I do have a BM spec, but only just getting to grips with it to be honest. Will always be a SV girl at heart. I've tamed a few of the new pets added in Cata and my most favourite is currently Deathtilac who was a bitch to solo tame but I was very glad I did it by myself.

How many rare pets are brought out with each expansion? Would they/ do they show any on the beta?

Haha I like the IDEA of collecting things, I just don't have the patience...

MM myself - I was surv for years, changed to MM with wrath and not really gone back though I find the need to use surv on any aoe heavy battles. I prefer the MM rotation and that burst DPS for the first 10% of the fight is just awesome. Plus at the moment with the other hunter in the group playing surv it's a bit of a better split than two of the same thing =D

I'm not sure about rare pets, I haven't seen any in the beta although I only played about with it a limited amount (I don't want to 'use up' the game before it is properly released). I felt the pets in 4.3 were really well done so I hope that they have something good for us in panda land however I would be happy to wait for the first content patch. If you recal how awesome the foxes in TB were for example when cata first launched then I think we could be similarly enthralled by the new beasts introduced to the game and with rares released when that novelty wears off it would give us something else to look forward to.

The thing I found on the beta is that I couldn't tame anything at all, so I don't know what is going on with that.

Sorry to take so long replying to this.

On the Beta, you still have 25 total slots. 20 in your stable and 5 on you.

Which, by the by, I think is more than enough. And that's even with playing BM and trying to collect all the pretties.

See, I would have to disagree with you there. There's 6 new species if I recall correctly in mists that can be tamed and probably more spirit beasts. I am trying to be conservative with my tames, even leaving some of the hunter challenge tames that came with cata but I can foresee problems for me in terms of mists.

I like the stampede idea though, that will be awesome.

Oh no no. This is definitely not enough. From 20 slots in stables, more than half are cats (which I love, expecially the hunched ones, I've all 6!) I have all 5 of the new cata spiders, only 1 wolf, bear, boar and crab, and 2 foxes. And I've absolutely no room left. And I don't even have any of the BM pets. And had to abandon some pets to get the spiders. So I have to disagree completely.

We need more slots!

Yes, it is hard trying to decide which pet to abandon...makes me feel sad inside. Apart from Anthriss, I wasn't bothered about letting him go. Posted Image

I think this might be more of a cat fetish problem than a game design problem ;)

Hey, so I've recently decided to main a BM hunter for the rest of legion and was just curious if there was some helpful tips out there (I've been reading up on the guides/forum posts but trying to see if I'm doing ok).

      this is me. https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/nagrand/greenmidget

sorry, I haven't done this before so I don't have any data to link or know how to use stuff like Warcraft logs or sims. I've also haven't done many runs of tombs yet so don't have any tier pieces.

looking at the icy veins guides I've talented for dire frenzy but didn't realise how much mastery I ended up with. Have I gone too crazy with mastery, should I be adjusting my stat prio better? Thinking I should probably gem for more haste. Most of my enchants/ gems I'm using are just ones I had the highest rank for and cheapest to make so my necklace is probably enchanted wrong.

i probably specced for mostly single target and think I've been doing fairly poorly for AoE damage compared to other people around my ilvl. Although I know to use multi-shot to refresh beast cleave I probably spam multi-shot more than the 4 secs needed, don't really use dire frenzy effectively, use titan's thunder basically whenever it's off cooldown, don't really know when I'm meant to be using aspect of the wild or whether I should be using beastial wrath in AoE fights. Should I be using murder of crows in AoE fights as well or is it just a waste of focus?

For single target I think I'm doing alright so far (only recently got the legendary boots so not sure how much the kill command cooldown should affect my rotation). Still don't really know when the best time is to be using aspect of the wild but I was basically doing the same as the icy veins guide. My opening sequence is usually something like Murder of crows, beastial wrath, titans thunder, then just kill command, cobra shot, kill command cobra shot etc.

Looking at icy veins guide I think I'm meant to be doing murder of the crows, beastial wrath, dire frenzy, titans thunder, then another dire frenzy straight away, aspect of the wild then normal rotation. After that it's just kill command/cobra shot I guess. While beastiality wrath is in effect should I only be spamming kill command/cobra shot for the quick cooldowns or should I still be using dire frenzy during this time? I use titan thunder when it's off cooldown and dire frenzy whenever it has 2 stacks. I usually just used murder of the crows when it was off cooldown but the guide seems to indicate that I should wait the extra 30 seconds and time it with my next bestial wrath. As for aspect of the wild I usually forget I even have this move and don't use it effectively, do I wait and combined it with bestial wrath? Wait and use it when I'm low on focus? Or use it as soon as it's off cooldown?

Thanks for listening to my rambling and hopefully thanks for your reply.

P.S. It's probably more of a personally choice or situational choice I guess but should I be talenting myself more for AoE for mythics. Example, one with the pack, volley, aspect of the beast?

MM: "Haha, thank god they changed nothing. Just be quiet, just be quiet!"
Survival: "We need a buff. I will team up with my other survival homies and... damn it, is there no one else playing survival?"
BM: "What the f*ck is goin' on?"

What do you think about the patchnotes?
Will there be a compensation with the new artifact system?
What did the Porcupines do wrong?

      Greetings
      Lemmi

All applications will be reviewed and considered however if you are playing a class/spec combination we need then your chances of joining will be higher.
A little bit of info about us:
We are a group of friends and serious raiders on EU Twisting Nether looking to recruit skilled like-minded players into our roster for Mythic Legion raids and onwards. We will offer a sociable and fun raiding environment while maintaining a strong desire for progression. Our Discord is very active and we encourage all members to chat and play together not only for raids. The guild formed late March 2016 and fully cleared 13/13 Mythic Hellfire Citadel pre nerf shortly after. We've since been improving our world ranking every tier.
We currently raid 3 days per week on Mythic: Wednesday, Sunday and Tuesday 19:15-22:15 server time. While it is not a lot we try to make the most out of our time. We run optional heroic/normal/alt/previous tier raids during off days in which raiders are welcome to come to. Our members also play other games outside raid times together where anyone is welcome to join(LoL, Dota, HotS, Overwatch etc.).
Our loot system for Mythic is RC Loot Council.
      What we expect from you:
      - We are a raiding guild with only a 9 hour per week schedule so you are expected to attend and be ON TIME! However we understand things can come up sometimes but please let us know.
      - Be able to speak and understand the English language and not be afraid to communicate with other members during raids.
      - Actively doing dungeons/world quests to improve your gear and artifact weapon.
      - Have a strong understanding of the current raid tier and be able to play your class to it's potential.
      - Always come to raids prepared(i.e. bringing food and potions, etc).
      - Come fully gemmed and enchanted with the correct stats for your class and spec.
      - Access to Discord and a working microphone.
      - Have a computer that can handle 20 man raiding and a good, stable internet connection.
      - Exorsus Raid Tools, Weakauras2 and RC Loot Council addons installed. We may ask you to install others.
