Holy Paladin Raid Healing

2 posts in this topic

I have been doing a lot more raid healing lately as a H Pally and was wondering if there were any tips or tricks that anyone could give to help increase my healing. There is a resto druid that has been beating me on most fights and I don't like it at all!!!

Some fights I seem to do decent on the logs while others I have a tendency to struggle. The main talents I seem to change a lot are the 5th tier which are Divine Purpose, Holy Avenger, and Holy Prism. I'm not sure which I prefer the most or which will increase my healing output the most. I know I don't take Rule of Law and probably should but might need some insight as to when to be using it.

The following are links to my logs as well as my armory. Any help whether it is gear, talents, rotations would be extremely helpful.

Your gear seems mostly fine, idk how often do you need mana from cocoon, if you are not using it often its worth switching to something with better stats. Your weapon seems kinda low, and I cant see if you have BiS traits on your relics(shock treatment). You are also a bit behind on AP, 5% more healing from rank 35 is something most healers have now.

Regarding your talent dilemma, Holy Prism will get you bigger numbers in most situations (exceptions being lack of targets it can heal-melee dps, or fights where you really need that extra cooldown from Holy Avenger).

I can see you are mostly going for beacon of the lightbringer, but on the fights where both tanks are taking constant damage (elerethe,cenarius,guarm...), beacon of faith will give you way more hps, just be more careful of your positioning because now people around your beacons no longer benefit from your mastery unless you are there.

I see you are using judgement of light, which is good, especially with your legendary ring, just make sure its always on the boss (or bosses-first and second phase of odyn, adds on Il'gynoth, both dragons if possible...)

Now what seems like the biggest mistake to me: Rule of Law.

I know it seems weak, but that's why it has a short cooldown and 2 charges, and depending on how much mastery you have (and you have enough) it can make a big difference. We dont really care about that extra range, we care about bigger numbers we get on people who are closer to us! Its free extra healing on everyone, not just close to you - those within 15 yards get the most benefit, but people outside of that also get more healing because the range at wich your mastery starts diminishing is also increased

Your worst fight seems to be Cenarius, and that just shows how important Rule of Law is. The room is big and people are more spread. When to use it? ALL THE TIME. As soon as more people except tanks are taking dmg, pop RoL before you toss those few heals. If unexpected burst of raid dmg happens right after it expires, you still have one more charge! And its not like the cooldown is long, you will get it back soon. Are you about to use artifact ability? use RoL with it. Are you popping Avenging Wrath? pop RoL too. Cooldown and 2 charges make it available pretty much every time you want it.

You are also in blue % on elerethe and that is probably because you are not using dual beacons on that. In my exp people are not too spread on that fight, and if I'm in the middle, everyone benefits from my mastery, so I dont really need beacon of lightbringer, and both tanks are taking constant dmg, so my dual beacons heal a lot.

I wrote a lot more than I originally intended, but I hope this helps you a bit. :)

Hey all, I am an OfficerGuild for The Fever, progression focus raid guild on Mal'ganis(US) Horde Side. We are also part of a multi-game community with over 1000 ACTIVE members among all our titles, with all levels of skill of play. We are looking for mature, non-toxic players to fill our ranks, regardless of level of skill. For those who just want an awesome community to play WoW with, or maybe are interested in raiding we have an environment for that as well. Our main core raid days are Tuesday/Thursday 8pm to 11pm CST. We are 11/11normal ABT and looking to fill our ranks for normal/heroic raiding. In need of melee dps and a hunter atm. Accepting all skilled players and casual players as well. If a guild like this sounds awesome to you, we would love to hear from you. We also play D3, OW, SC2, PUBG, and other titles, so even when the raid is over and your character is maxed on weekly activities you can always find someone to chill and play games with. Potential members applying to Fever must be at least 18 years or older. You can become a member by registering, submitting an application, and then completing an interview on our Discord server. The interview is quick and nothing to worry about! This is something we can discuss after you raid with us if you prefer. We're a guild looking for people who want to have a great time, hang out with each other, laugh and have fun while killing stuff in raids!

      Guild Name: RaidCat
      Faction: Alliance
      Realm (EU): Silvermoon
      Realm Type: PVE
      Realm Timezone: CEST
      Progression: 8/11 HC Antorus
      Raid Times: 19:30st - 22:00st
Raid Schedule: Friday and Monday (additional raids on Wednesday for alts, mythic etc)
Openings: Range DPS (help us knock those melee off the top of the meters!)

We raid twice a week in the evenings with optional extra runs appearing as requested.
Currently we also raid on Wednesdays (normal) to help gear up mains and alts.
As our raid roster increases and  heroic progress continues Wednesday evening will likely become a mythic progression night. However mythic is not our end goal or focus, but rather something we try to make extra time for. Social members also welcome!

Looking for: Range DPS (warlock, mage, hunter, shadow priest, hunter) Other applications considered.

We do everything from Transmog runs, PVP, Mythic+ and whatever else you can think of, with our main focus on raiding.

We are aiming for a relaxed yet skilled raiding environment where people can fill in for each other, not having to worry about always attending since people can fill in for you, focusing on having fun and improving ourselves with each kill.

We do care about people following tactics and knowing what they're doing (so do your homework or ask for help!) so we may actually get some stuff done as well, that's why we're looking mainly for experienced raiders that want a more flexible environment (if you are new to raiding you are still welcome)

We use Discord and you are welcome to join and hang out before deciding to move over.

      Hello everyone,
I want to ask for any tips on my logs, since I think I'm doing something wrong with my resto druid.
I have good gear (currently 958 ilvl) but I see other druids with similar or less gear do way higher HPS than me on the logs. I think I should be doing more than 900/1k hps, but rarely go above 700 in many fights.
Here are a couple of logs of Antorus hc:
      https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/cHZLXF1t8J7YMwBT
      https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/zGB27L8KYp4HXJZQ
I searched the logs and I think one of my main problems for the lack of healing is the rejuvenations. Other druids do far more healing with same or less rejuvs, since my average casts is around 450k (and other druids go up to 750 or even 1000).
I don't know if it's a problem with timing or overhealing (other healers snipping me), but I want to know other opinions.
Thanks a lot for your help.
