Unholy DK DPS help needed

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm just a casual player, recently started playing unholy DK. I can barely do 220K dps and I have no idea why. Got unlucky and a Frost legendary dropped from a random mob when I was fooling around playing Frost talent..so yeah. I have a Frost legendary as Unholy. :P

AK 12, Weapons is lvl 21 (in log it was 18 then) not all talents are unlocked (not that it matters I reckon, that "double doom" feels pretty useless too).

Armory:

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/magtheridon/Frozenveins/simple

Here's a log from our guild:

TOV Guarm - Normal :

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/xhfZMcNdWPYLtj91#pins=0%24Separate%24%23244F4B%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%24141151946.0.0.DeathKnight%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%240^0%24Separate%24%23909049%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%24141151946.0.0.DeathKnight%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%240&type=damage-done&source=9&fight=3

TEN Xavious - Heroic:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/7g8rcJHfDK2LBZCY#type=damage-done&source=15

I'm not using any kind of extra addon, like weakauras and such. It's a hassle and I don't like addons, I'm only using GW2UI and Kuinameplates. I'm not running flask or food either (+1% crit is not worth my gold, no to mention the flask is 1K gold for one...)

I welcome any help regarding rotations talents or whatnot that might help. I love the class even though it might not be the best so I hope I can get better with it. (and please don't tell me I should go frost...)

Thanks in advance for the help!

Isn't this quite obvious? :P You don't need to be a genius to figure out this I reckon.  Anyway, thanks!

considering the laundry list of things you refuse to do to improve your dps its very much not obvious.

You could have simply said "yes, and im having trouble with xyz in the rotation..." or "yes and i follow it to a T", to continue the conversation.

But with this attitude you can go ahead and sit on your frost gear and spin.

peace

Alright so after looking at your logs ignoring the obvious that's not worth your time or what ever i.e pot etc. You're missing soul reapers missed 2, you could have gotten at least 7. Also missed a dark transformation which if you're using shadow infusion is especiallybig deal means your not getting it back on cd so you can get it off cd again. Dot up time isn't 100% on guarm it's extremely easy to get 99.99 or 100%. You're casting festering strike way way to often, especially considering you don't have legendary bracers. You wasted a lot of wounds, and in essence runes. If i had to guess you've had missed approx 40 runes which is 8 runes, and wasting other runes. Which in turn is a lot of cd. Couple times when sudden doom procced it went wasted or wasn't used until like 8 or 9 seconds after which means ones could have proced on top of it. You were runic capped for a while too something that's really avoidable when you don't have legendary bracers, if you have the legendary bracers it's not avoidable you'll be runic capped but without bracers you can easily have 0 time when runic capped.

I know weak auras aren't worth your time or something, but the question is how isn't it worth your time? It's addon with a 3 second download then 3 second import of a weak aura someone else made then 10 seconds to move the weak aura to where you want it.

Oh wow, now that's an answer. I don't know what the others found revolting about my other posts. I don't think it was immature or anything like that. oo

Anyway, thank you very much for the detailed answer. This is actually something that I should think about.

And what I don't like about weakauras? hm...I don't like the visual clusterfuck that WoW normally is. Too much useless information, or repeated information (like HP bars or cooldown and numbers)..it kinda turns the whole game into an ui-whack-a-mole.

I'll try this weakaura nonetheless, once again, thank you for the detailed answer!

I think the others just found that your response to their questions with "Obviously" and then you said "That's already a laundry list" or what ever. But he was just trying to gauge where you were in terms of play generally people who generally don't use flask food etc generally aren't to advanced in play. I would explain why but is generally pretty obvious.

I didn't really use the word "obviously" as a detrimental word I reckon. The laundry list comment taunt was done by the other guy, I just questioned back that two things is already considered a laundry list for him. :D

Anyway, off the topic. So, I've checked this weakaura thingie. I dunno man, kuinameplates already show each festering wound and the other virus stuff. Also the artifact talent too. That buff thing too from the runeforging. (gwui2)

I'll try some other weakauras, maybe something will stick.

I'm new to using icy-veins, and I cannot seem to get used to navigating the WoW class guides. Why is stat info the 13th section of the guides, but max level content 6th through 12th? Where do I find comparisons between specs?

Inevitable Destiny   (H)Corrupted Destiny guild Skywall/Drak'thul US realm😎   Corrupted Destiny IS one of Skywall's oldest and largest standing guilds - very active with a large player base! We’ve always got something going on: mythic dungeons, normal runs for alts, Island Expeditions, Warfronts, Incursions, Transmog runs (aka 'Chu's Shopping Trips), Raiding, Brawler’s guild activities...  Even random activities like fishing at Darkmoon Faire while standing on water and wearing a fish head side by side!! All adult guild 18+ years old.

Raid-wise we are 9/9 N Dazar'alor and have members with 9/9 H experience. Our raid schedule currently is 5:30pm PST (8:30pm EST) to 9pm PST (11pm EST) Thursday and Monday. (Subject to change as we try to accommodate more members).
We have an active FB page and Discord server that is up to date on ALL game info as it happens, and of course fun stuff... as it happens as well!
As always, we are recruiting. Looking for raiders (healers preferred but all are welcome), casuals, in betweens, anyone who is looking for a guild! Do NOT be intimidated to ask to join us even though you are not level 120! Come and join us! We maintain a ZERO drama policy!!
Come experience the reason a guild as old as CD continues to stand and stand strong year after year after year! Come...... and get.... CORRUPTED!!!

Guild: Dawn of the Dead | http://www.dotd.org   Faction: Horde | Server: Zul'jin (PvE) | Timezone: EST   Current Progression: 8/9M BoD | 2/2H CoS | 8/8M Uldir CE   We've been raiding max size raids continuously since WoW has been released and are the only guild to have done so here on Zul'jin. We have strong leadership, no drama, and plans to keep raiding for years to come. Unlike many guilds, we're not recruiting for the short term, and we don't over-recruit.   Website: www.dotd.org
Raid Times: Our schedule is 8-11 EST Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.   Needs: We are a small guild, and we expect high attendance. As such, we recruit people to raid, and desire people who can step in and contribute immediately. We don’t recruit people to sit around, so all spots are for raiders who can expect to be in most every raid.   We are currently looking to add skilled and reliable:
Ranged DPS: High: Shadow Priest, Mage Medium: Warlock 1 Healer:
      High: Resto Shaman, Mistweaver Monk

*ALL exceptional applicants will be considered regardless of the class.   What we ask of you:   Effort: Not all applicants come from highly progressed guilds, and that’s okay, but it does mean that you need to be prepared. We recruit the player, not the gear, but we do ask that you have some current experience. You need to have the best gear available to you with top end enchants and gems where available. You also need to be able to display an understanding of your class mechanics, role in a raid, and ability to learn new fights.   Attitude: It’s a game. We play for fun. How you fit in with the guild is taken very seriously. We’re a bunch of mostly 18-30 guys and girls who have fun playing together. While we have a good time, we also know when it’s time to buckle down and work hard.   Skill: The best way to determine skill is to see you in a raid. Because we don’t wish to have anyone transfer that we’re not serious about, be able to express your knowledge of your class and why you’re an exceptional player who would be an asset and is worth a shot. Gear will come with time. Skill will not. Impress us with your knowledge of your class and gameplay mechanics. Feel free to share any logs, theorycrafting, or other work you've done.   Commitment: We make a commitment to you, and ask you to do the same to us. A raid takes a team of more than 20 individuals working together. We rely on you to show up to raids, research your class and new fights, respect your fellow players, and notify us when you are unavailable. You rely on us for gear, experience, and coordination. It's a large investment of our time to train and gear new players, and we ask the same investment on your part so that we can each benefit.   We have a variety of informational resources available to prospective applicants on our web site: http://www.dotd.org-- please refer to our "Applications" forum for detailed information. Also feel free to visit us on WoWProgresss for more information and kill videos! http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/us/...wn+of+the+Dead   Should you wish to speak to someone in-game, please don't hesitate to reach out to an officer directly, whisper Alloren (Alloren#1606), Xanah (Xana#1662) or Jeare (Jeare#1759).   We look forward to hearing from you soon!

The way to enhance Frost Death Knight leveling and then update it in the very start and up into the greatest levels in brief phrases? Opt for the very best gift on every level you obtain so as to find out and use best. Look at these Frost Death Knight abilities and highlight the ones that you have to have on your desk whilst trimming the enthusiast.
Level 56 - Cold Heart. Level 57 - Horn of Winter, Runic Attenuation. Level 58 - pick one of 3 because they have exactly the identical part in leveling: Passing's Reach, Asphyxiate, Blinding Sleet. Level 60 - Frozen Pulse, Froscythe. Level 75 - Wraith Walk. Level 90 - Frostwyrm's Fury, Gathering Storm. Level 100 - Breath of Sindragosa. You are welcome to add some corrections!

<Exo> is an old guild from Dragonblight which transferred to Stormrage in search of mythic raiders. We are a guild full of experienced raiders always looking to expand our roster.
We are not a world first guild nor do we aim to be. Our primary goal is to get loot and have a good time, however this still means on progression nights we do expect you to show up, put on your serious face, and kill some *filtered*.
Our raids are on 3 nights a week; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9pm-12 Server Time (EST). The Monday raids are optional farm/alt nights (Normal/Heroic) with Tuesday/Wednesday being mandatory progression nights.
Currently we are accepting applications for any role, off specs are always a welcome addition but not required. Performance and skill will be looked at above gear, experience, or class.
We do not have a minimum item level required to join our raid team, however we will require you to catch up in our Monday farm-runs up until you are at a mythic level.
If you have any questions or are interested in joining or trialing with us please add Pasha#1800, Java#1849 or Bushido#1988 on bnet to talk with an officer.
