Questions we all wonder but never ask...

1 post in this topic

So given the truly amazing advice that we have all gotten as a result of these forums I thought I would pose the question.... What questions are not being answered, either because we all feel a bit daft asking them, or because we are not sure they are important?

Also, any suggestions that you all have in how and when to practice our skills would be great. LFR, is a tough place to practice and implement new tricks.. ;-)

Let me prime the pump a bit.

1. How, and when can each spec use Transcendence? And perhaps suggestions on how and when to practice using it. Seems like such a versatile skill but not if its always in the tool bag. I would imagine that if we got good at it, we would look like rock stars in certain circumstances.

2. For WW, Legacy of the White Tiger......??? Yes (obviously) but never any discussion as to using it. Is it overwritten in raids or something?

3. Again for WW, (Storm, Earth, Fire). Another cool spell that if used in certain circumstances would make us look like real pros, but if improperly used takes a major hit of our dos.

4. Healing spheres???? Yes I know they are not a real part of our plans day to day, but can they be? Is there some creative way that you monks have found to use them. I for one drop them on myself when tanking to self heal if i have the room in my rotation, or another player with WW to heal them but still perhaps there are better uses. (truthfully, I hope they get replaced with something more useful)

5. Statue placement, both for Serpent and Ox. I love my Jade Statue, but usually wait to see what a "real" mistweaver does with his/her placement before I drop mine. I also know that it should differ when I am doing a lot of eminence healing instead of casting, but how? As for my Ox. I have much less understanding of how placement affects him, and if Leer is EVER worth taking.

Last note. I just want to thank, Krazy and all of you by association for making this game so much more fun by trying to understand it better. The difference between the LFR that you drop into and wipes 4 successive times before a single pull (true story last night), and the one in which everyone works in concert because even if they don't know the fights they understand their own capabilities are night and day!!!

Very active and friendly guild currently looking to recruit a Guardian Druid/Brewmaster Monk/Blood Deathknight for our core raid group.
Will consider other tanks, but those three are preferable!
We are currently 9/10 H NH (in progress), 3/3 H TOV (AOTC), 10/10 H EN (AOTC)
We raid Heroic Nighthold Tuesday/Wednesday 5pm-7pm PST ( 8pm-10pm EST).
We do alt runs on Saturdays at 5pm-7pm PST (8pm-10pm EST)
We also run guildies/alts through mythic + keys each week for their weekly max rewards.
      For more information please contact:

Okay so I'm new to monks, I used my legion 100 boost on a monk.
Yesterday I ran Neltharion's Lair and Darkheart Thicket, and saw something on Skada that had me wandering.
I saw that my stagger damage and damage taken from auto attacks is almost the same, even if I'm using purifying brew. Now, the question is:
Should I be taking more damage from stagger, even if I'm using purifying brew, or should I be taking more damage from autos? Does it matter that much if I'm thinking on tanking for mythic+, heroic raiding?
(Idk if this is a dumb question, I'm just a 102 monk wanting to learn how to tank correctly)

      Hi all,
here is the thing, my MW (Sitaki) and i are in a bad place - i have tried a lot of strategies, gearing etc but i do not really feel i 'get it' - i am oom quickly in fights (both my trinks are chosen for mana regen), and in general i do not feel good about my heals in raids (M+ is not my focus)
Approach/rotation - to use vivify as my main spell, essence font either just before a movement phase when i cant heal, or when large number of the raid is missing health, enveloping mists on low tanks, followed by either artifact or vivify spam to get them up. i do have a bad habit to ignore artifact because of slow cast time, so i do hit 12 stacks quite often (and therefore waste some charges i know). i try to have a renewing mist running, but i could probably do better. i dont try fistweaving. i have noticed in fights where i can ignore tanks more, my heals and mana usage are generally better
Legendaries - i have belt, legs, shoulders and tank chest i use belt and legs atm (because legs are supposed to be very strong and i need to use legs or shoulder slot for 4piece tier
Consumables - crit food, int flask, prolonged power for pre-pot and channeled mana pot in fight
Gearing -generally my plan is the 2 mana trinks,  use 2 legendaries and try to maintain 4-piece, switching  the others in desperation when i get depressed with my healing (i have a bagful of gear, and can change to re-align  stats if needed).
      Armory - http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/draenor/sitaki/advanced
Logs - these are my latest, there are a lot more uploaded on warcraftlogs (my rotations on mythic wipes were done knowing we would wipe before i could oom! hc ones after should be good tho) https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/ZFXHWRAkY3fcvKhN/
TLDR: my MW makes me sad, help me love it again please, any further info needed please feel to ask ^^

      Cheers,
      Sitaki

      ---- Update
just noticed i am wearing cloak with no ench/gem, its new - i would probably put int ench and a crit gem

      Hello,
Adelante is currently recruiting ranged DPS, however, all competent players will be considered.  We are a Horde guild on Arthas and our current progression is 3/10M NH, 7/7M EN and 3/3H TOV.  As far as classes go we do not have a Moonkin, Mage, Feral Druid, or any type of Monk; in addition, we would like to acquire a second Shadow Priest or Demon Hunter. We only raid two nights a week, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM Eastern.  Thursday is not considered a raid night, but we will often clear Heroic and Normal on this evening for AP and it is not required.
From you, we would expect 100% attendance during your trial period; after that, if you cannot make a raid or will be late it is mandatory to keep the raid leader updated.  In order to continue making good progression while raiding only two nights a week, we expect that you know your class inside-out and will research any bosses you are unfamiliar with prior to raids.
If you are interested, please PM me (violentravi#1826) or recruiting officer Sepsis (tuxedomask#1712) in game.  However, if you have time (which goes a long way) for us to give you a real evaluation there is a short forum to fill out linked on our discord: https://discord.gg/JMVuYRW

      Thank you for your consideration
      Xoxo
