It seems the recent PTR patch notes have caused a bit of a kerfuffle, mainly due to Hook 2.0 and D.Va changes. As the Overwatch team is very good with communicating their intent on the forums, Geoff Goodman and Jeff Kaplan addressed some of the concerns and shared upcoming changes:

made a video, just showing how bad the new hook is.

pls fix this one aspect of the hook

We have a fix for this coming soon onto the PTR, as well as other fixes (such as being able to throw people behind you if you spin before the hook lands).

I'm also playing around with the ability for the hook to slow down a player when it impacts them, especially if they are in the air. This should help some of the more extreme cases where a player was strafe jumping and got hooked, but just before they get pulled they traveled a good 3-4 meters before breaking LOS, causing the hook to fail.

You'll still be able to move people somewhat (right now its +/- 70 degrees from the starting hook angle).

And here's an example of the people throwing:

Then there's the concern over the D.Va changes ( Health increased from 200 to 400, Armor decreased from 400 to 200, Fusion Cannons Bullet damage decreased from 3 to 2, Number of bullets per shot has been increased from 8 to 11) that are apparently causing an uproar and many "D.Va is terrible now" statements.

To answer the original title's question:

No the sky is not falling.

0.26% of Overwatch players have tested these changes on the PTR.

The average playtime on the PTR (including sitting in menus etc.) this week is 26 minutes.

I encourage people to log in and try these changes for a few nights -- not one anecdotal match -- and see how you feel about them by formulating your own opinion.

To put it another way, 99.74% of the community hasn't actually played with any of these changes.

Well thats the community for you.  Play one match with the new changes, do terrible or poorly, blame the devs, log off.  I hope that changes.  The devs for Overwatch have been very receptive to the player base and are making changes that they think are fair.  D.Va absolutely needed this nerf and Roadhog's hook has been a point of contention since the begining.  If you are going to complain do a bit of research first.  You can't get a very good gauge of the changes with one or two matches.

The Lunar New Year event starts today and we have another 3 skins revealed! We're getting Torbjorn, Zenyatta and Tracer in the mix, with some pretty nice skins (although not really as nice as the first three revealed).
Torbjorn's beard gets a little out of hand in this one and his wrench arm gets a little bit fancier:
The beards are spreading it seems, even to Omnics, as Zenyatta gets an actually pretty good, if hairy, skin out of the deal:
And finally there's Tracer who's... well it's just Tracer with a new hat:

The latest Overwatch event is coming on Thursday the 23th, and we already have three skins to take a look at. They're actually pretty damn good ones, featuring Reaper, Hanzo and Reinhardt connecting with their eastern roots (with Hanzo going double eastern, not that that sentence makes any sense).
Reaper seems to have won the skin-off this time, with his LÜ BU garments, and he even has some pretty great fan art ( by Ethan墨画 ) to go with it already.

There will be a few more coming in the next few days and hopefully they'll be as good as these three.

The events keep on rolling in, as we still have the Ana Bastet challenge going on until the 21st, and now Blizzard have already announced the next big one. The Lunar New Year is returning with the Year of the Pig and Solider:76 is pretty happy about it.
So, new emotes, highlight intros for Solider at least, and a whole lot more cosmetics are coming next week, keeping things moving along and fresh.
We also have a new video commissioned by Blizzard themselves by dillongoo, featuring a very fluffy Ana and Solider:

There's a pretty staggering amount of OW Funko Pop figures out there (55!), from the basic models to more specific skins and designs, and that doesn't even cover all heroes! Game Informer has put together a list of all the different editions you can buy, some at exclusive retailers and pointed out that we still don't have a Bastion one!
You can head on over there if you want to check out everything that's available, and here's a few of my picks for the best ones as well:
