Recommended Posts

The first hotfixes yesterday were pretty small and didn't have a lot to go over, but today's are quite significant: Broken Shore buildings get cheaper, most classes get PvE tweaks and fixes, Cathedral and Nighhold get some bugs ironed out and more.

Hunter

  • Unerring Arrows bonus is now 4% per point (was 10% per point).

Adjustment by a few percent would have been okay, but this, wow...

Nerfed from a potential 40% down to 16% before anyone has even gotten to rank #4. And here I was thinking I would some day appreciate the vulnerable mechanic.

Blizzard has perfected the art of the heavy-handed nerf.

^ This

54 ranks pre-7.2 gave you enough AP to get to like 16M AP into the fourth trait.

This makes that trait way less appealing now. Adding extra points into the other exising traits probably offers a better increase in power but of course they'd never refund us the AP we spent on those 4 points to put somewhere better.

Got to rank 3 indeed, didn't play much else (also EU here).

Sad but true, when spending the AP it felt great now all i want is a refund :(

Meh I'll live, to be fair in a few weeks my AK level will be high enough that I can gain AP quickly enough to just get all the other traits. Hopefully.

I'm thinking most people who are serious about raiding may be able to reach Tomb while having at least one point into the last trait so it's probably not as much of a big deal and refunds aren't really needed yet.

lol yet another 50% at once nerf. Why do they take such huge steps these days?

Do they even test their stuff before releasing it? Doesnt looks like it because otherwise there should be no need for such HUGE adjustments. And it is also really funny that they already start hotfixnerfing things before they even fixed all those broken things.

- Gosa not doing any dmg at all at the moment
- HB not doing dmg / spreading fever when primary target dies (ok at least this one was hotfixed today)
- many MANY other classes with AoE skills seem to have similar problems (Monks, Paladins) so i can see a pattern / generel issue here...
- Vampiric blood only increasing health by 30% ignoring the weapon perks
- raid bosses that went totally nuts and wreck havoc on everybody

Just to name a few :).

Frost DK's have been getting some heavy nerfs lately. First Blizzard nerfed Perseverance of the Ebon Martyr 50%; now a 66.6% nerf to Runic Chills and 50% nerf to Thronebreaker .  I get the nerf to the helm and the gold trait, but the nerf to Runic Chills is excessive and makes this talent almost worthless, it won't add an extra Sindragosa's Fury  to a normal raid encounter at 1 second, what is the point of this talent? The cooldown of Sindragosa's Fury is 300 seconds, so now to get an extra one I'll have to Obliterate 300 times in a fight, I cast about 100 obliterate per fight, at 3 seconds this talent worked at one second it's worthless.

On top of that they nerfed it before most players even got these traits, they cant have enough data to justify any nerfs to them.

Here come this week's first hotfixes, with the already announced Legion legacy loot rules along with some more visual tweaks to dungeons, specifically Ashvane Warden in Tol Dagor.

      Dungeons and Raids
Ashvane Warden The ground visual for Lockdown should remain visible when Projected Textures is disabled in the System Settings menu. Ashvane Warden The ground visual for Lockdown should remain visible when Projected Textures is disabled in the System Settings menu. Items and Rewards
Legion Raids and Dungeons [With regional restarts] Legacy loot rules are now in place for Legion raids and dungeons. Developers’ note: Standard encounters drop an amount of loot scaled by the amount of players in the raid, which results in fewer pieces for players who defeated encounters in small groups or as a solo player. In Legacy loot rules, raid and dungeon encounters will drop a fixed quantity of class-agnostic loot, regardless of the group size.

This week's bonus event revolves around world quests making it the ideal time to farm reputation and unlocking Allied Races.
The Sign of the Emissary buff increases the amount of reputation gained from World Quests by 50%, and all Allied Races require exalted with their respective factions to become unlocked. Completing 20 world quests rewards 1,000 War Resources. Check out our Mechagnomes and Vulpera guides to learn more about how to unlock the latest Allied Races.

Chart a course across Kul Tiras and Zandalar for this week’s Bonus Event – World Quests.
      THIS WEEK
All week, open your map (default hotkey-"m") and select any of the Kul Tiras or Zandalar regions to view the World Quests available to you. To find out more about each World quest, simply hover your mouse over a World Quest on the map to see what tasks are needed to complete it, the rewards you’ll receive, and the time remaining that the quest is available to you.
Look for the following all week long:
Chronicler Toopa in Boralus or Chronicler Shoopa in Zuldazar has a quest for you—The World Awaits. You can also start the quest from within the Adventure Guide (Shift-J). Quest requirement: Complete 20 World Quests in Kul Tiras, Zandalar, Mechagon, or Nazjatar Reward: 1,000 War Resources Passive buff: +50% to Reputation gains from World Quests If you’ve been looking to impress some emissaries, this is the week to do it!
      EVERY WEEK
The Bonus Events system consists of a rotating schedule of different activities, currently scheduled to run each week beginning on Tuesdays. Each Bonus Event grants a passive bonus to a particular game activity and offers a once-per-event quest with a noteworthy reward for accomplishing a related goal. The in-game calendar can serve as your one-stop reference for the event schedule. The Adventure Guide also offers a direct link to active Bonus Events, allowing you to easily accept any associated quests.

If you're making use of the XP buff leveling new characters and you're tired of the Warlords of Draenor intro questline, which involves Khadgar, there's a workaround at level 90 to skip it and here's how.
Note that the Warlords of Draenor intro rewards a fair amount of XP these days, and you are sacrificing it to save time with the skip.
At level 90, you must head to Khadgar and complete the intro prologue to Draenor. While the intro gives you a fair amount of Experience with the double XP buff, chances are you could have grown tired of completing it over and over on multiple characters.
We recommend using the skip ideally if you have:
Unlocked Draenor Pathfinder (flying in Draenor), because you will end up in Gorgrond and it will take you some time to head back to your Garrison to start questing; Inflatable Mount Shoes on a mount for water walking in case you have no flying unlocked, which makes it less painful reaching locations and unlocking your Garrison. At level 90, take the portal from Stormwind/Orgrimmar to Jade Forest and head to the Timeless Isle in Pandaria (see map below for exact location). There, you will find an underwater cave with chairs. Sit on them and click the campfire to teleport to Gorgrond.

From there, you can head to Iron Docks if you have a flying mount, and the flight master will take you to your Garrison even though they (the flight masters) aren't marked on the map.

We have some more art-related content, but this time around it's not just fans painting their favorite characters, but actually transforming WoW into a painting - and without using any mod! Now, there's plenty of mods already out there that you can use to change the game's aesthetics, but with Blizzard's recent tightening of EULA enforcement, it could possibly be risky using some of them (although they've been mostly safe to use so far).
This one requires an Nvdia card and is much, much easier than putting a mod in, you just need the Geforce app and to click a few things, and your game could be looking like this (just click on the image and the video will play):
As noted by the poster, kathrad_, this also messes with the UI, so you're either going to have to just use it to marvel at the visuals around the world, or be really good with your spec rotation, as you won't really be seeing much of the UI. Also, perhaps don't go raiding or doing high M+ keys, as ground effects and similar probably won't be as noticeable.
Interestingly, there are plenty of people in the reddit thread that actually didn't note the difference in the look of the game, saying that the above just looks like regular Darnassus! I guess it's been on fire for so long people have a very painterly memory of the once Night Elf capital.
If you have some great mods that alter the game's look, share em below and let's see just how much WoW can be changed.
