Mythic+ Class

Hey guys, im about to play Wow again after a half year break and i want to start as Warrior or as Death Knight and i cant decide between both.

I pretty much know how they work but my question is : which works better/more simple in Mythic+ and eventually heroic raiding (im not interested in mythic ToS).

Hi Cope,

I've played several different tanks in previous xpacs.  This is really more of a question of what your raid consists of.  If your guild healers aren't great, the DK is a powerful choice.  If they are talented, the warrior is usually the best dps output which is actually viable in timed encounters.

I've not raided at all this xpac but most top end guilds run warriors because they have the teams to support such.  Recognizing your team's faults and strengths helps in tank choice.  If you have no team and no guild, I find warriors to be the most agile and capable as lone wolf tanks in most any situation.  They do require a unique understanding of encounters and their upkeep/uptime for mitigation can get tiresome in your rotations.

After reading your post, I realized its entirely possible you may be thinking of playing these as dps classes.  In that case, I have no input as I don't play either class in that way.

Honestly really just depends on whether you enjoy mobility.

DK's main downside is the lack of mobility from the class.  You only have wraith form and walking.  Warrior has charge/leap/intervene (if prot).

DK has more self-sustainability as tank, and can solo lots of older content.

As far as DPS goes, both are highly wanted in M+ due to their AoE stuns and high burst AoE damage (Fury Warrior and Frost Death Knight).  DK also has the benefit of battlerez, but that won't be the difference between getting in a group or not.

 

Try the playstyles out on template characters and see which you like more.  Both are viable.

thanks for those fast answers, Ive started a Warrior because of the superiority in mobility and ive reached ø-ilvl of 895 in 5 days, im very happy with that decision so far but i will test dk aswell (loved to play that class back in wotlk)

and yeah i should have clarified that. I want to play those classes as DPS and only occaisonally as Tank (only when it is really nessesary)
