Kel'Thuzad is going live in Americas later today, and we updated our talent calculator and guide section with a build guide for the Archlich of Naxxramas.

The iconic Warcraft villain has been added to the talent calculator and our guide section has been updated with the Kel'Thuzad Build Guide.

If you haven't been around for a while, you can catch up on the latest Hero in our Kel'Thuzad preview. Should you have any questions regarding the guide, feel free to post them here.

Kel'Thuzad's release is celebrated with a new event called "Call of Kel'Thuzad" and you can start earning portraits, sprays, and banners until September 25.

Well... After meddling a bit, I must say I'm a bit disappointed with Kel'Thuzad. I don't know... Even though we had a breakdown of his kit before launch, I still expected him to play a bit more straightforward, a bit more "bursty", as in "press buttons and stuff dies". Simplicity is not a bad thing. You have the likes of Jaina and Li Ming, who are very straightforward with their abilities, yet they're very fun to use.

Now Kel'Thuzad being who he is... I expected a bit more of power instead of gimmick. He IS the Kel'freaking'Thuzad after all. Not all new Heroes have to have a huge complexity behind their design.

Garrosh, Stukov, Malthael... There haven't been any really complicated heroes lately imo

I guess back to the training room.

I'm yet to find a non-tank that can take a full combo from me when my trait is completed. It's amazing, I genuinely think he's my favourite hero ever in HoTS

Had to test this!

At level 20, Azmodan has 6004 HP. With 3 melee attacks between spells detonating and every spell hitting (Glacial Spike, Q, W, E, R), KT will kill him in that combo :D. At around level 27+, it needs an additional spell or 2-3 melee attacks.

Here's a fun little KT fact: His damage scales at 2% instead of the usual 4.5%, which is why that happens.

Anyway, try that combo without Hungering Cold to see just how busted that talent is.

Isn't 4% most common? Also doesn't he scale at 2.5%?

Yup, it's mental. I swapped out of it while playing around with some talents and it's not just noticeable, but really messes things up. I imagine we'll see it nerfed in the first balance patch for KT.

Our twenty-fourth Heroes of the Storm Meta Tier list for the month of January is here!
Welcome to Icy Veins's most belated Meta Tier List for the January 8 patch. The goal of this list is to try and detail game's current metagame state. The prime goal of such lists is to inform players regarding popular and trending team composition drafting strategies (i.e. the drafting metagame).

Meta heroes define the metagame. They are very often banned or picked right away, as they generally dictate the pace of most drafts and matches.
Generalists form the core of your team and are generally picked after Meta picks have been distributed. They tend to work on most maps, and as part of and against most team compositions. Since this group includes most heroes, I elected to split it into three tiers. High-tier rankings are a result of performance (i.e. win rates) and popularity (i.e. pick and ban rates). This means that heroes with high win rates can be set in low tier; the opposite may also be true.
Situational picks shine on specific maps or as part of specific team compositions.
Our Meta Tier List has been updated for the January patch!
