Patch 7.3.2: The Fate of Azeroth (Major Spoilers)

New sound files have been added in Patch 7.3.2 and they are full of heavy spoilers revolving around Illidan and the fate of Azeroth after Argus the Unmaker has been defeated.

Our friends over at MMO-Champion have uploaded new voicovers for Aggramar, Aman'thul, Eonar the Life-Binder, Illidan, Khadgar, Malfurion and Tyrande that contain major spoilers, proceed with caution!

From the recently added Dungeon Journal entry of Argus, we learn that the Pantheon will be aiding us in the final battle against Argus. Eonar provides Gift of the LifebinderGift of the Lifebinder, allowing players to resurrect during the encounter. Other perks in the encounter are  Gift of the SeaGift of the Sea or Gift of the SkyGift of the Sky.

Aman'thul VO

Aggramar VO

Eonar VO

Illidan VO

Illidan asks you to put some final matters to rest and deliver Alor'idal CrystalAlor'idal Crystal on his behalf. It holds messages for his brother Malfurion, Tyrande and you. After that you're supposed to place it atop Mount Hyjal upon the shores of the Well of Eternity. If you don't know what happens to Illidan after Argus is defeated, you can find more information here. Illidan, Malfurion and Tyrande received young models in Patch 7.3.2 that may be part of a flashback.

Malfurion VO

Tyrande VO

Khadgar VO

Now comes the real deal. Khadgar's new sound files reveal what's going on with Azeroth.

"The Legion is defeated, its master imprisoned, but in his final spiteful act, Sargeras may have doomed us all. Our world is wounded champion. Its life essence seeps out into the sands just as Magni foresaw. This mere drop of Argus' blood surges with incredible power, the might of a titan. If the blood of Azeroth also proves to be a source of such strength, those who seek to rule this world will stop at nothing to possess it. The days ahead may be dark indeed. For now, go to Silithus. Gaze upon the wound in the world with your own eyes. We will find a way to save Azeroth, I know it."

Remember Il'gynoth's quote "The king of diamonds has been made a pawn?" It all started with the Whispers of a Frightened World scenario.  From the transcript it is obvious that the final titan is wounded. There's a new map with a giant wound (hole) in Silithus.

Silithus Wound

Below is a map of the Silithus Wound scenario (Phase 1).

The wound really reminds me of a Certain Old God who also happens to reside near/in Silithus.

This lore is probably some of the most interesting lore the game has had in a long time. Plot twists, old gods, chronicals, it's really awesome.

We never killed C'thun, as if we did the whole world would be significantly wounded. We obviously just pushed him back, but he seems to have returned for round two...

Well what I meant is: The Wound looks like C'Thun's Eye.

It looks more like a stab wound from Sargeras, probably a final act of rage right before he gets imprisoned.

Legit though it does look more like stab wound, interested to see how this plays out.

A wound from Sargeras that hurt Azeroth, right smack in the middle of Silithus. Wounding Azeroth actually gives the Old Gods an advantage, which leads me to wonder why Sargeras decided to do that. My thought is that he will try one final time to destroy Azeroth once and for all but fail and only inflict a small wound. Still, as cool as the Legion's lore is in my opinion, I feel like the Old Gods and the Void are ultimately a bit more interesting. All of the stuff they say, the things that they might be doing to Jaina (if it's not a dreadlord it's obviously the Old Gods) and all the characters gravitating towards the power of the Void, like Alleria who will very likely have a large part to play next expansion. Even the Naaru and the light are beginning to become interestingly similar to the Void in some ways. Can't wait to see where it all takes us.

I think it is awesome that out of all of Azeroth, Silithus is going to have some type of overhaul. The relevance of Silithus kind of died in Vanilla and it was still dull to quest in, especially if you were on the wall between 55-60. The environment of the area, I always thought was impeccable but then again there really wasn't much going on...I think it was just the general creepy vibe from the unknown, random whispers and eerie music. Regardless, I think they picked a prime area on Azeroth for 110-120...content...especially if this could lead us to the underground city of Nyalotha

It's a phased version of Silithus.

Yeah it looks like a stab from Sargeras. Might awaken some good sleeping Old Gods.

I imagine they won't be too happy either.

All this right here, this is why I still play this game.  It's like an entire universe.  So much history.  Dedication on player and dev team alike.

It's not like FF games where they change every game, or other brands that try hard and die out after a few cheap Xpacs.

This game is a behemoth.  Every xpac is a new head on the hydra.  It's great.

The fact that there are hundreds of novels, comics, short stories and everything around it helps to create such a great universe. The lore just goes on and on and on. If you truly wanted to start from 0 and check everything, I mean... it would take months.

Next, we're looking at the Priest changes that went live in the second Alpha build. We've got some updates to Discipline's Atonement, and some tweaks to Shadow Priest's Collapsing Void.

Collapsing Void - Each time Penance damages or heals, Entropic Rift is expanded by 1 yd. After Entropic Rift ends, it collapses, rapidly dealing [ 120% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage up to 8 times to a random enemy, based on how many times it expanded. Each time Penance damages or heals, Entropic Rift is empowered, increasing its damage and size by 20%. After Entropic Rift ends, it collapses, dealing [ 500% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage split between all nearby enemies.

We'd like to introduce you to a game-changing nameplate addon for Season 4 that's essential for excelling in Mythic+ dungeons. Here's Quazii Plater!
Tracking every mob and their abilities in Mythic+ can be overwhelming, but this addon excels by replacing standard mob nameplates and cast bars to enhance your gameplay.
Once installed, mobs with critical interrupts will display a thick orange cast bar, while less crucial ones will show a thinner yellow bar.

Mobs with less crucial interrupts will have a thinner yellow cast bar.

Additionally, any mobs that inflict heavy frontal cone damage are marked with an arrow and feature orange cast bars. A voice alert will also prompt you to move by announcing "front."

The addon further assists by indicating non-interruptible spells that require crowd control with a purple cast bar and a vocal "cc" alert.

For tanks, if you're not holding aggro, the nameplates of the mobs will turn red, quickly showing you which ones to target.

There's also a handy visual cue on the cast bar, surrounded by a green border, signaling when you can interrupt an ability and your interrupt skill is off cooldown.

      Ready to try it out?
You can download Quazii Plater here.
For setup assistance, watch Quazii's comprehensive video guide.
Quazii has also created a Mythic+ cheatsheet that details all critical abilities for Season 4 dungeons, available in a text format.
If you appreciate Quazii's contributions, consider supporting him on Patreon.
