BlizzCon 2017 Opening Ceremony

Attention attendees! If you’re joining us in person in Anaheim, this year’s opening ceremony will be spread across more than one stage throughout the show. The live presentation will be jumping between stages as our developers show you what we’ve been working on from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. PDT. And of course, everything will be broadcast on screens and stages throughout the convention hall.

Each quarterfinal match will be a best-of-3 and the games begin right after the Opening Ceremony.

If the leak, that has been 100% accurate so far, is anything to go by, the next three heroes should be Franko Tildon (Firebat), Aidan (The Dark Wander) and the Life-Binder herself, Alexstraza.

And the latter, at the very least, would totally deserve a cool CGI movie as an introduction, I find, so I wouldn't be surprised at all. ^-^

I really wish they show at least some of following heroes:

warcraft:

 yrel: did you even notice that there's at least one hero from every wow's main races except draenei?! They should add first the first draenei hero and who's better than yrel?

alextrasza: i dont care about which dragon will be added first (from deathwing or ysera or alextrasza or Onyxia or etc.) But I think alextrasza will be first... I hope to see on of them by the way.

leeroy Jenkins: I think he has low chance on entering nexus for now but I know all wish to see him there ^^

( I just liked to see some other characters from warcraft like or cthun or alakair or anduin or lord jaraxxus/archimonde or malganis or maiev  .. but I think they will be added to game lately..)

Belial: I think they should add lord of lies to complete diablo 3* lords of hell* characters!

I hope to see thsee interesting characters too: Maghda,Zoltun kulle,Adria,Cydea

starcraft:

Franko Tildon,Gabriel Tosh

Overwatch: I think they won't show any ow characters since they already added Ana and junkrat but I would like to see the first specialist hero from ow universe.

Blizzard classic:

You know long time they didn't add any (after releasing lost vikings in 2014) but I wish to see another character from blizzard classic games which be unique enough like how vikings are!

Man, I would totally LOVE Leeroy or C'Thun as new heroes!

It is kind of difficult to imagine how a character like C'Thun could be implemented, but if they somehow manage to do so, I'd be a happy camper for sure. Perhaps he could be the "core-replacement-hero" that Ragnaros was supposed to be at one point in his development. That would be epic for sure and worthy of an old God. ^-^

Velen. Plus there is no Priest representation in HotS, so would be killing two stones with one bird.

Tyrande may be the "Priestess of Elune", but her kit doesn't reflect anything remotely similar to the Priest from WoW. So she is a Priest just in title, hahaha.

If Varian was still to be released, I would expect Anduin to release with him, but I think Velen becomes more and more likely each month.

Wasn't Hanzo mentioned somewhere as an expected character?

His name leaked alongside Alexstrasza in one of the making off videos of Kel'Thuzad.

I really hope it takes a long time before we get another OW hero. I want a new Diablo hero. We haven't got a new one since Cassia.

Probably bit a bit of Valla, plus being able to charge his abilities for increase damage and range akin to Gazlowe's Lazor.

Would be awesome to see Vol'jin as hero in HotS. Similar to Varian death, he could join us at least in that game. Remember to love trolls or they will be gone too fast :(

Sadly Vol'jin is not as iconic as Varian, plus I wonder how would Shadow Hunters work in HotS since their kit is pretty much scattered around other characters, except for Serpent Ward:

- Brightwing has PolymorphPolymorph, which works like Shadow Hunter's Hex.

- Rehgar has Chain HealChain Heal, which works like Shadow Hunter's Healing Wave.

- Tyrael has SanctificationSanctification, which works like Shadow Hunter's Big Bad Voodoo.

I think Sen'jin was more typical witch doctor, tbh we don't see alot of Vol'jin abillities when he fight. Most of time he used just physcial attacks, same like Rokhan. They could invent some new skills and powers thanks to that.

Also how Varian can be more iconic from troll that led revolution against Garrosh as first, helped us defend continents against own kind, have nearly own book and story, was with us since vanilla wow. He is one of original Horde trio (Thrall, Cairne, Vol'jin). Varian was introduced in WotLK and pretty much was unknown to many players before it. Not to mention he didn't do anything special to the last moments in MoP.

I'd expect something similar to the Shadow Shaman from DOTA but with some Melee thrown in too

I mean, if we're listing reasons to remember them:

  • Varian was best friends with one of the most popular characters to ever grace WoW, Arthas, and was constantly referenced in the start of Arthas' book.
  • After the death of his father, he became King of Stormwind, but was only crowned officially at 18 (still very young).
  • He was one of the founding members of the Alliance, since he led his people into that union with the elves of QT, Terenas' people etc.
  • After being abducted, his personality was split (which an entire book was written about, Lionheart).
  • He became one of the fiercest Gladiators ever to have existed under the name Lo'Gosh (named after Goldrinn, the wild god), alongside Broll Bearmantle and Valeera Sanguinar (two very well known characters), trained by Rehgar Earthfury.
  • He became close friends with Jaina Proudmoore, another incredibly important figure in WoW lore.
  • He wields one of the most famous swords to date, Shalamayne, and used it to kill Onyxia. 

I can obviously continue with this, but it'll take a while. He led the Alliance through Wrath, was constantly present there, snuck into Ironforge in Cata and nearly assassinated the Dark Iron Dwarfs leader, held the entire existence of the Horde in his hands at the end of MoP and, by his will, allowed it to exist, led the Alliance forces on the Broken Shore which, for the Horde, Sylvanas did.

He's definitely more iconic than Vol. If you need more proof, just compare the size of their Wiki pages.

Can't agree more. I absolutely love this. When it released, I added it to my playlists and use it for work, playing, everything.

Fixed an issue that caused Cauterize Wounds healing amount to be determined by the damage dealt to the target furthest from the primary Empower Sulfuras target. If Cauterize Wounds is reapplied while already active, any remaining healing will apply over the refreshed duration. Rexxar Base Misha, Charge! [W] Can now be self-cast. Samuro Base Critical Strike [W] Fixed an issue that caused Samuro's Critical Strike stacks to be visible to an enemy Samuro. Level 7 Feeding Frenzy REWORK: Cooldown reduction is now a Gambit bonus, starting from 1.5 second cooldown reduction. Each death lowers this by 0.25, up to 3 times. Paralyzing Enzymes REWORK: Gambit removed. Now reduces Drag's target's healing received by 40% while Drag is active and for 2 seconds after.
