Allied Races Unlock Requirements Account-Wide

Recommended Posts

yaJMm2T.jpg

Requirements to unlock Allied Race characters are account-wide. You can find them upon clicking on Allied Race banners in Orgrimmar and Stormwind embassies on the 7.3.5 PTR. Blizzard also changed the achievement required to unlock the Nightborne from Good SuramaritanGood Suramaritan to InsurrectionInsurrection.

To create an Allied Race character, you still need to purchase Battle for Azeroth and have an existing character of at least level 110 on the destination realm of your Allied Race character. The achievement and reputation standing requirements can be completed on any server and they are not locked to factions. In other words, it does not matter if you earned You Are Now Prepared! You Are Now Prepared! + Exalted with Army of the Light on a Horde character if you want to create a Lightforged Draenei.

We created a fresh level 1 character on a different PTR server and visited the embassy in Orgrimmar and still met the requirements to unlock Highmountain Tauren and the Nightborne.

You can find more details about Patch 7.3.5 and Allied Races in our content hub.

Nightborne Unlock Requirement Changes

The unlock requirement for the Nightborne has changed in the most recent PTR build. Initially, Good SuramaritanGood Suramaritan was required, but now you must complete the InsurrectionInsurrection achievement and reach Exalted with the Nightfallen in order to unlock them.

No I meant....you don't need to have a character on level 110 on the server on which you want to make an allied race char x3 it's not a hero-'class'.

EDIT:

Ok...I just read it's really like that atm...well, that's a pain in the behind.
sorry Stan, you were right all along! *doomsayer voice*

@Stan

Could you provide some intel on Nightborne now requiring Insurrection instead of Sumaritan? It looks like you slipped that in without providing a highlight about that change (Unless I'm missing an article about it?)

I didn't feel like it would deserve a separate post, so I mentioned it here. Gating Allied Races behind reputations from previous expansions is odd and I think we'll see a round of changes again soon. I mean if you've been playing the game on a regular basis, you can most likely create all of them, but for new players, it will be a nightmare to deal with what could easily be the selling point of BfA. Sure, you do get a cool mount from InsurrectionInsurrection, but that's about it.

Before / After

So... are the races not going to be available to play in 7.3.5? because you can't pre-purchase Battle for Azeroth yet. Or is 7.3.5 further away than expected?

You can't create allied races character on 7.3.5, but patch shouldn't be so far away, since we know that Patch 7.3.5 will introduce new mount for Call of the Scarab that will be from 21 to 23 this months (my guess is that Blizz will release the patch together with the last 2 Antorus' bosses in lfr)

No. Any 7.3.5 footage on youtube that might give that impression is actually recorded from a custom sandbox emulator. The patch files might include parts of what was included in the Blizzcon demo, but it doesn't mean it'll be available soon.

The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier.
Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:
And then there's big amount of customization options, as well as a size comparison with regular dwarves:

So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?
