Legendary Items in Patch 7.3.5

Recommended Posts

Everything you need to know about Legendary items in Patch 7.3.5.

Update (January 9)

  • In the latest PTR build, the acquisition rates of Wakening Essences and prices of tokens have been increased sixfold.

Updates (January 8)

There are no new Legendary items in Patch 7.3.5 and their item level remains unchanged (capped at 1,000). The Legion legendary cap is still two with the exception of Aman'Thul's VisionAman'Thul's Vision that can be equipped as a "third" Legendary. Blizzard added a new item (Purified Titan EssencePurified Titan Essence) to Arcanomancer Vridiel in Dalaran that is used to synthesize a Legion legendary item. It costs 1,000 Wakening Essences and allows spec-based Legendary item targeting, so in case you're still missing your BiS Legendary, make sure to set the appropriate Loot Specialization before using Purified Titan EssencePurified Titan Essence to discover a random Legendary item that you haven't obtained yet. Legendary items forged with Purified Titan EssencePurified Titan Essence will not affect your chance of getting additional Legendary items from other sources, because they do not count toward bad luck protection. Awoken Titan EssenceAwoken Titan Essence is no longer obtained from the repeatable quest; it can be purchased from the vendor as well for 300 Wakening Essences.

If you already have all Legendary items for your class and use Purified Titan EssencePurified Titan Essence, you will be given a Legendary token for a random class. (Source)

Unfortunatlly, if you have already upgraded all your legendaries, you will not be able to get essences anymore, therefore no stockpiling is possible before the 7.3.5. hits :(

That is of course unless you are already on the quest, but just haven't turned it in..

You can stock it, because you don't need to upgrade all you legis for now. So you can stock some of them if you not turn the rdy quest in.

They'll probably wipe out the stockpiles before it starts. I have a feeling people are going to be peeved.

I really don't know why they didn't make this item earlier lol it would solve all of the problems with leggos and their RNG nature being so frustrating while giving players something to work for (cuz blizz LOOOOVES a good ol' grind)

I doubt it. Giving that the average ilvl for next xpac leveling is 930 (Normal Raid gear lasts until way into the leveling experience of every xpac), an ilvl 1000 legendary will probably last until H dungeons or maybe 1st raid tier, so we won't be sending them off any time soon. I remember doing this with my legendary cloak from Pandaria.

Unless of course, blizzard is planning to disable them or something like that.

Blizz did say that in BFA current legos will not work. Mostly there bigger issue is they dont want a bunch no your gear to just turn off and become useless once you hit X milestone.

Looks like they hotfixed something today and turned the ability to collect Wakening Essences back on for people who have completed the quest and even fresh 110s. So everyone can stockpile ahead of the patch.

Two questions, can Aman'thul's vision come from these? And why oh why are they not BoA...

I know a couple of people with ALL legendary items and they're getting tokens for classes they don't use/have leveled and it sounds majorly annoying. I have all my main spec ones bar ATV so if that drops from this...

Edit -

BoA issue explained-

  • The tokens are bind on pickup because we don't want to overly encourage players to farm Essences on alt characters in order to feed Legendary items to their mains. However, if you purchase and use a token on a character that already has all of the available legendaries for their class, you will be given a random BoA token for another class.

I still dislike the randomness but better than nowt

No, it can't. Aman'Thul's VisionAman'Thul's Vision is handled as a separate Legendary item and as a result, the item is effectively ignoring the Legion Legendary limit of 2. Legendary tokens acquired after having all Legendaries on your main are random. As far as I know, the game does not scan your account for the classes you have created.

We've all seen the giant Hallowfall crystal and just how great it looks, but as it turns out, the light emanating from it actually changes in a sort of strange day/night cycle, and we get a really awesome transition into Void light animation!
First off we can see a snippet of the change in Blizzard's official short preview of the zone:
And then there's this extended look at the switch, showcasing just how impressive the animations are, by PreachGaming's Chunkeyninja:
And here's a slightly better look at the Void to Light transition, courtesy of Kexman:
The exact timing on the cycle isn't 100% clear, but MrGM noted how it works on the Alpha right now, with a 3 hour cycle, as the Void part remains active for 30 minutes:

Hopefully we'll also get some lore to go with the transition, as the light into void thing is pretty thematically interesting, as well as being really visually impressive.
