Patch 7.3.5 Dev Notes: Purified Titan Essence Clarifications

Recommended Posts

Community Manager Lore shared additional details about the new Legendary token of Patch 7.3.5. The amount of Essences needed to purchase Purified Titan EssencePurified Titan Essence will be drastically increased along with the rate at which you gain them in 7.3.5. The time investment will be roughly the same, but the change minimizes the benefits of stockpiling Essences prior to release of the patch.

  • Wakening Essences will be rewarded from completing your first Battleground win of the day.
  • Hoarding Emissary bags before 7.3.5 is useless. They will only give pre-7.3.5 number of Essences.

More details about Legendary items in Patch 7.3.5 can be found in this post.

A few additional details on the new Legendary token:
  • We've just pushed a hotfix live that makes Wakening Essences drop for everyone, regardless of whether you're on the quest or not.
  • We'll also be dramatically increasing both the number of Essences required to purchase tokens and the rate at which you gain them in Patch 7.3.5. The overall time investment needed to purchase a token will stay roughly the same, but this will minimize the benefits of stockpiling Essences ahead of time.
    • Note: Emissary bags earned prior to the release of 7.3.5 will still give pre-7.3.5 numbers of Essences. There is no benefit to saving Emissary bags until afer the patch.
  • We also plan to add Wakening Essences to your first Battleground win of the day in 7.3.5.
  • The tokens are bind on pickup because we don't want to overly encourage players to farm Essences on alt characters in order to feed Legendary items to their mains. However, if you purchase and use a token on a character that already has all of the available legendaries for their class, you will be given a random BoA token for another class.

That doesn't make sense so far into the expansion. We have nearly finished the expansion and on the last patch before BfA prepatch you can buy legendaries. This should've been implemented long ago, not when we will be using them for nothing special. I also don't get why we shoudn't "stockpile" the essences before the patch? F Logic that's why -_-

Patch 7.3.5 should go live on January 16, just before Call of the Scarab micro-holiday.

Is this the last patch before BfA pre-patch and curve removal?

Patch 7.3.5 is the last content patch of Legion. However, the entire content will not be available on day 1, it will be staggered and gated, leading to recruiting Allied Races when BfA pre-order becomes available. Even though Allied Races have not been tested on PTR, they are really polished in 7.3.5 and they may launch anytime.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
