Patch 7.3.5 Legendary Token Changes

Recommended Posts

qefYrBJ.jpg

Lore previously alluded to changes coming to Legendary tokens in Patch 7.3.5. In the most recent PTR build, the tokens underwent a sixfold increase in price. The amount of Wakening Essences obtained from the usual sources has also increased, so you will be able to acquire them at the same rate. The change eliminates the benefit of stockpiling Essences before 7.3.5 goes live.

Item Old Cost New Cost
Awoken Titan EssenceAwoken Titan Essence 50 Wakening Essences 300 Wakening Essences
Purified Titan EssencePurified Titan Essence 175 Wakening Essences 1,000 Wakening Essences

You can find more information about the patch in our 7.3.5 content hub.

Awoken Titan EssenceAwoken Titan Essence is now a vendor item available from Arcanomancer Vridiel in Dalaran. The item is used to upgrade a Legendary item to item level 1,000.

Purified Titan EssencePurified Titan Essence is a new token that is consumed to discover a random Legendary item that you have not obtained yet just by setting a desired Loot Specilization. If you already own all Legendaries for your class, you will be instead given a random Legendary token for a different class.

They can't calculate with smaller numbers or what? Blizzard allways prove they can't balance anything..

It is to prevent stockpiling now to a considerable advantage.

They're pumping them up so that people can farm them now and have them stored up, but also so they can't just have enough essence to buy every legendary when the patch drops

So does that mean any Awoken Titan Essences you have sitting in your bags are gonna be wasted?

No, they will not be useless, but if you have any legendary items to upgrade to 1000, you should do it before the patch as they will essentially have 1/6th the value after the patch. Blizzard is doing this to avoid someone saving up 1000+ Essences to just buy 10 legendary items after the patch.

People want to stockpilling because actual Legendary system is bad as hell. I don't know why need to punish players and change the first numbers to make it much harder.. This is so unsymphatic for me

Can't they, like, create some different item so people won't stack it up before the launch of 7.3.5. instead of what they've done?

I've done a quick calculation and found out that on average you'll get ~650-670 essences per week if doing only PvE content. That'll make us get a leggo every 1.5 weeks. Well... still better than rate I'm getting them at now.

I mean, if they make some new item then it would be the exact same time, with the only exception being you CAN'T store any up early so it'd just... be worse for people?

Also your math is off unless you're only counting Antorus once. You get them from LFR and normal mode separately for example. we also don't know if they effect the legendary protection, as far as I'm aware.

Well, they stated that the goal of increasing numbers is to render stocking up before the patch hits useless, see here:

Really? That's reassuring. Hope we can get them from HC and Normal separately as well.

It was clearly stated that legendaries bought with essences won't affect the protection. I, however, have doubts that said protection even exists, but whatever.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.
      (Source)
      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
